[SUDANTRIBUNE] General Yasir al-Atta, Assistant Commander of the Sudanese Army, pledged a significant offensive against the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in the coming days. Speaking at the Wadi Seidna Air Base in Omdurman, he reiterated the army’s firm stance against returning to negotiations or accepting a ceasefire. Addressing the assembled soldiers, al-Atta declared, “We will strike on all fronts and in all directions every two or three days, as the Rapid Support Forces have no future.” He warned that the upcoming attack would be “strong and violent” in an unexpected location, marking “the beginning of the RSF’s collapse.” Al-Atta hinted that the strike could target RSF strongholds in Jabal Awliya, Khartoum North, or the Umbada neighbourhoods of Omdurman. He also emphasized the army’s recent success in crossing the Halfaya Bridge into Khartoum North, claiming that “a large number of enemy forces” were eliminated. Furthermore, al-Atta listed other areas where the RSF had reportedly suffered heavy losses, including Signal Corps, Umbada, Hattab, Kadoro, Armored Corps, Sennar, El-Fasher, and Babnousa. |
