[Korrespondent] Ukrainian Armed Forces are holding back Russian offensive in eastern and southern Ukraine.
The most active enemy in the Pokrovsky direction - 21 combat clashes. Four of them continue near Novoalexandrovka and Karlovka.
Since the beginning of the current day, the number of combat clashes on the front has reached 99. The greatest enemy activity is observed in the Pokrovsky, Toretsky and Kharkov directions, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on Wednesday, July 17.
Thus, in the Kharkov direction , the Russians are attacking with the support of aviation, they have already carried out six air strikes with UABs. The number of clashes has increased to 15. The occupiers have concentrated all their efforts in the areas of Glubokoe and Vovchansk. At present, one battle is underway near Glubokoe, all other enemy attacks have been stopped.
The intensity of the enemy's assault actions in the Kupyansk direction has also increased. The enemy attacked the Ukrainian Armed Forces positions eight times near Sin'kovka, Andreyevka and Stel'makhovka. Near the latter, fighting is still ongoing in two locations.
In the Liman direction, six enemy assaults have been recorded since the beginning of the day, half of which were successfully repelled by Ukrainian defenders. Fighting continues near Torskoye and Makeyevka.
In the Seversky direction, the Russians continue to try to improve the tactical situation near Spornoye, Vyemka, Fedorovka and Verkhnekamenskoye. The number of clashes has increased to five. Ukrainian soldiers have repelled two attacks, three are still ongoing.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the occupiers are storming Chasov Yar with the support of aviation - they used three UABs on the city. Two assaults near Andreevka and Novomarkovoye were repelled.
In the Toretsk direction, the number of enemy attacks has increased to 17. The enemy is concentrating its efforts towards North and New York. The fighting continues.

In the Kurakhovsky direction, the Russians attacked 12 times. Fighting continues in two locations near Krasnogorovka. In addition, the enemy attacked in the areas of Georgievka and Praskovyevka in the Kurakhovsky direction.
In the Vremivsky direction, the enemy carried out two assaults near Konstantinovka.
In the Orekhov direction, the enemy became more active - they carried out eight attacks in the areas of Novodarovka, Malaya Tokmachka and Novoandreyevka. In addition, the invaders launched about a hundred unguided air missiles in the directions of Gulyaipole, Lobkovoe, Rivne, Kamenskoye and Pyatikhatki.
"In the Dnieper direction, on our bridgeheads on the left bank of the Dnieper, the occupiers twice unsuccessfully tried to push Ukrainian soldiers from their positions," the General Staff noted, adding that the situation in other directions had not undergone any significant changes.
Let us recall that 1,110 Russian invaders were eliminated on the front in 24 hours on July 16. The total combat losses of the Russian army in Ukraine since the beginning of the war have exceeded 560 thousand people.
