[Korrespondent] The Ukrainian Armed Forces are holding the defense in the south and east of Ukraine.
The defense forces are holding their lines and taking all necessary measures to prevent a breakthrough of the defense, the General Staff assured.
Since the beginning of the current day, 73 combat clashes have occurred along the entire front line. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in a statement on Saturday, July 27.
Thus, six combat clashes took place in the Kharkov direction. Our troops stopped three Russian attacks in the area of ​​Glubokoe and two near Volchansk and Tikhe. The repelling of another assault in the area of ​​Volchansk continues.
In the Liman direction, the enemy is attacking in the areas of Makeyevka, Nevsky and Novosergeyevka. In total, since the beginning of the day, there have already been 12 combat clashes in this direction, five of which are still ongoing.
In the Seversky direction, the enemy failed in attempts to storm the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces near Verkhnekamenskoye and Spornoye. In total, there were five attacks.
The battle continues in the Andreevkino-Kramatorsk area, where the enemy, with air support, is trying to advance on the positions of our defenders.
In the Toretsk direction, the enemy attacked our troops' positions nine times. At present, fighting continues near Severny and Zhelezny.
The hottest part is in the Pokrovsk direction. Fierce battles are taking place in the areas of Vozdvizhenka, Novoalexandrovka, Veseloye, Sergeyevka, Timofeyevka and Yasnobrodovka. At present, the enemy has made 21 attempts to storm Ukrainian positions.
In the Kurakhovsky direction, one combat clash continues in the Krasnogorovka area. Nine assaults were repelled near Georgievka, Paraskoveevka and Konstantinovka.
In the Vremivsky direction, three enemy assaults towards Razdolnoye have been repelled. At the same time, the Russians are not abandoning their attempts to break through the Ukrainian Armed Forces' defenses in the direction of Konstantinovka, where two attacks have been repelled so far.
In the Orekhov direction the situation did not undergo any significant changes; three enemy attacks were repelled by our defenders.
In the Dnieper direction, one attack by the occupiers was unsuccessful.
"The command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is taking the necessary measures to contain the enemy's advance and inflict significant losses on it," the General Staff assured.
Let us recall that on July 26, the number of Russian invaders decreased by 1,210 people. In total, since the beginning of the great war, Russia has lost more than 573 thousand fighters.
