[Regnum] Over the course of 24 hours, American military personnel struck two vessels of rebels from the Yemeni Shiite movement Ansar Allah (Houthis) in the Red Sea.
"Over the past 24 hours, US Central Command (CENTCOM) forces destroyed two Iranian-backed Houthi vessels in the Red Sea," the command said on social media.

Another attack on a British vessel took place on August 3. The attack took place 170 nautical miles southwest of Aden in Yemen.
Since autumn 2023, the Houthis have been attacking ships linked to Israel and its allies amid the escalation of the conflict in the Middle East. They have threatened to prevent them from passing through the Red Sea until the operation in the Palestinian enclave is stopped.
In January 2024, the US and UK began retaliatory strikes against Yemeni rebel positions.
