[Korrespondent] Ukrainian Armed Forces are holding back Russian offensive in eastern and southern Ukraine.
The Ukrainian army holds its lines and takes necessary measures to prevent a breakthrough of the defense.
Since the beginning of the current day, 98 combat clashes have occurred on the front. Russian occupiers continue to attack in all directions, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on Thursday, August 29.
Thus, in the Kharkov direction, two military clashes occurred in the Volchansk area. Now, another assault is being repelled in the same location.
In the Kupyansk direction, nine enemy attacks have been repelled near the settlements of Sinkovka, Kolesnikovka and Lozovaya. Five more attacks are continuing near Myasozharovka, Kolesnikovka, Stepnaya Novoselovka and Lozovaya.
In the Liman direction, an enemy attack is underway near Makeyevka. Since the beginning of the day, units of the Defense Forces have already repelled 12 assault actions by the aggressor near Tverdokhlebovoye, Cherneshchina, Druzhelyubovka, Nevsky, Torsky and in the Serebryansky forest.
In the Seversky direction, the enemy made three unsuccessful assaults near Verkhnekamenskoye and Vyemka. Two combat clashes are still ongoing.
In the Kramatorsk direction, in the area of ​​Kleshchyivka, Andreyevka and Chasovy Yar, the enemy, with the support of aviation, is trying to advance on the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Four attacks have been repelled.
In the Toretsk direction, the enemy attacked our troops' positions nine times. At present, battles continue near Toretsk and Sukha Balka.
The hottest part is in the Pokrovsky direction. In the areas of Vozdvizhenka, Zelenoe Pole, Mirolyubovka, Grodovka, Novogrodovka, Karlovka, Marinovka and Mikhaylovka - there are fierce battles. So far, the enemy has made 23 assaults.
In the Kurakhovsky direction, six combat clashes continue in the Krasnogorovka area. Near Georgievka and Konstantinovka, 11 assaults have been repelled.
In the Vremevsky direction, two enemy attacks towards Konstantinovka have been repelled. Six enemy attacks are underway in the direction of Ugledar and Vodyanoye.
In the Orekhov direction, three attacks were repelled near Malaya Tokmachka and Rabotino.
It is indicated that the enemy is actively using aviation in all directions. The enemy also does not stop bombing its territory, having carried out 11 air strikes today, dropping 16 bombs on the Kursk region.
Let us recall that on August 28, the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed 1,200 occupiers in one day . The total number of losses of the Russian army since the beginning of the invasion has exceeded 612 thousand soldiers.
