[KavkazUzel] The Maykop City Court has arrested for two months a local resident who was previously detained by security forces on suspicion of recruiting for the Islamic State.
As reported by the "Caucasian Knot", on August 31 it became known about the detention in Adygea of a suspected militant, whom security forces suspect of participating in a terrorist organization and recruiting residents of Maikop.
The Maykop City Court has arrested a local resident suspected of participating in the activities of a terrorist organization for two months, until October 29, the joint press service of the courts of Adygea reported.
The investigation believes that he recruited residents of Maikop to join the Islamic State terrorist organization, which is banned in Russia by the court, and that he swore allegiance to the leader of the banned organization, Interfax reported on September 2, citing a press service report.
Let us recall that earlier, security forces reported that the detainee had correspondence with members of a terrorist organization, and a criminal case was opened under Part 2 of Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ( “Organization of the activities of a terrorist organization and participation in such an organization,” which provides for up to 20 years of imprisonment, – note from the “Caucasian Knot” ).
"Caucasian Knot" also wrote that on July 11, the FSB reported that a native of one of the Central Asian countries was preparing an attack on an Orthodox church in Maykop and the murder of clergy and security guards. In a video recording published by the agency, during interrogation, he said that after watching videos of supporters of the "Islamic State", he planned to kill a guard and set fire to the church.
A court in Maykop arrested 18-year-old native of Tajikistan Idris Idibekov for two months. On July 12, it became known that Idibekov had an accomplice from among local residents.
