Democrat Senator Sherrod Brown accepted donations from DEAD Ohio woman: report |
2024-09-07 |
[PostMillennial] The reelection campaign of Senator Sherrod I absolutely trust HillaryBrown ![]() (D-OH) has been revealed to have accepted donations from a woman who had died months prior. The case has since been referred to the Federal Election Commission for an investigation. Records obtained by the New York Post revealed that Toledo, Ohio resident Carol Ann Baker died in December of 2023. Despite this, the Friends of Sherrod Brown campaign committee in May received two campaign donations from Baker amounting to $350. Frank LaRose, Ohio's Secretary of State, conducted a preliminary investigation and received a signed affidavit for Baker's widower confirming her death. Ohio's investigation into the matter was completed in August of 2024, and the case was referred to the FEC. In the official FEC request, Huan Yi, the head of investigations at the Ohio Secretary of State's office, wrote, "Ohioans deserve absolute confidence in their elections." He added, "The purpose of this letter is to refer to your office potential violations of federal law for your investigation, as appropriate." A front man for LaRose told the outlet, "Our office received a complaint identifying that the Friends of Sherrod Brown committee reported receiving two contributions from an individual that was confirmed to be deceased. But, as that committee is a federal entity and not a filer with our office, we referred the complaint and our findings to the Federal Elections Commission for further action." An obituary for Baker described her as a dedicated trustee for Harris Township and volunteer, as well as a "loving pet parent." #5 Just like Harris, Brown is campaigning on conservative values. He is very well funded and has had a strong media presence long before the Ohio primaries. Moreno is under funded and is just now advertising. You can't find info about his rallies or speeches. Local media is not reporting his activities. I don't see Brown losing this race. |
