[Korrespondent] The situation is currently hot in the Kurakhovsky and Pokrovsky directions, while the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is taking all necessary measures to contain the enemy's advance and stabilize the situation.
The Ukrainian Defense Forces are holding back the advance of the Russian occupiers. The Russians continue to destroy Ukrainian cities and villages with air and artillery strikes. The number of combat clashes has now risen to 95. This was reported in the General Staff report as of 16:00 on September 8.
The hottest part is now on the Kurakhovsky and Pokrovsky directions.
In the Kupyansk direction, Russian troops unsuccessfully attempted eleven times to storm our positions near Sinkovka, Stepnaya Novosyolka, Glushkovka, Lozovaya and Stelmakhovka.
In the Liman direction, the enemy attacked in the areas of Nevsky, Novosadovy, Torsky, Dibrova and Cherneshchina. In total, since the beginning of the day, there have already been nine combat clashes in this direction, three are still ongoing. The situation is under control.
The enemy does not abandon its attempts to break through the defense of our troops in the Seversky direction, but receives a worthy rebuff from the Ukrainian defenders. Thus, near Verkhnekamenskoye and Grigoryevka, the occupiers have tried to push back our units five times, two assaults are ongoing.
In the Kramatorsk direction, since the beginning of the day, Russian troops have tried five times to dislodge our units from their positions. Near Andreyevka and Kleshchyivka, enemy attacks have been repelled, and three assaults have also taken place near Mayskoye, one of which is ongoing.
In the Toretsk direction, the enemy, with the support of attack and bomber aircraft, attacked the positions of our troops 12 times. At present, a military clash continues near Nelipovka.
The situation in the Pokrovsk direction remains tense. Fierce battles are taking place in the areas of Zelenoe Pole, Vozdvizhenka, Novotroitskoye, Grodovka, Novogrodovka, Selidovoye and Mikhailovka. The enemy has made 23 assaults on Ukrainian positions. Fighting continues in six locations.
In the Kurakhovsky direction, since the beginning of the day, the invader has attacked our units 19 times. He tried to advance near Krasnogorovka, Dolinovka, Ukrainskaya, Georgievka and Konstantinovka.
In the Vremovsky direction, two enemy assaults towards Vodyanoye were repelled, and another battle continues.
In the area of ​​Malaya Tokmachka and Rabotino in the Orekhov direction, the occupiers tried to advance twice, but were met with a tough rebuff. The enemy also used aviation against Lobkovo.
It is noted that the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is taking all necessary measures to contain the enemy's offensive and stabilize the situation.
Let us recall that on September 5, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrsky, stated that Ukrainian troops had managed to stop the advance of the Russians in the Pokrovsk direction.
President Volodymyr Zelensky noted that the situation in the Pokrovsk direction "has been better" over the past few days, but it is necessary to wait for stabilization.
