3 bandits killed as soldiers raid hideout, rescue 7 in Kaduna - Daily Trust
2024-10-08
[DAILYTRUST] Soldiers have bumped off three suspected bandidos while rescuing seven captives following a raid on bandidos' camp at Kurmin-Kare village in Kachia LGA of Kaduna State.

City & Crime had reported that three herders who went to sell their cows alongside four women were returning to their village when the bandidos flagged down their pickup van and whisked them away.

A vigilante member, who was part of the operation that led the soldiers to raid the bandidos' camp but preferred anonymity, said the raid was carried out on Saturday, around 4:12pm.

He said the bandidos fled and abandoned the victims after heavy gunfire, saying the bandidos fled with bullet injuries.

A community leader from the area also confirmed the rescue of seven kidnapped victims over the phone to our news hound on Sunday.

''It is true, some Fulani
... a peculiarly brutal tribe of Moslem herdsmen infesting Mali, Niger, Nigeria, and probably other places that are light on law and order and heavy on tribal identity...
men, including women who were returning from SCC village market last Wednesday, that were kidnapped by bandidos, have been rescued by soldiers on Saturday,'' he said.

He said the bandidos had earlier demanded N30 million ransom to release the victims, adding that undisclosed sums of money belonging to the Fulani were taken away by the bandidos.

The front man of the Kaduna State Police Command, ASP Hassan Mansur, was yet to confirm the incident as at the time of filing this report.
