[Korrespondent] Ukrainian Armed Forces are holding back Russian offensive in eastern and southern Ukraine.
The Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 26 attacks in the Pokrovsk and Kurakhovsky directions, 17 battles are still ongoing.
Since the beginning of the day, 99 combat clashes have occurred on the front. Russian troops are very active in the Pokrovsky and Kurakhovsky directions, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported in a report as of 16:00 on Tuesday, October 8.
Thus, in the Kharkov direction, the occupiers stormed defensive lines in the areas of Volchansk and Staritsa three times.
In the Kupyansk direction, the enemy actively advanced eight times in the areas of Sinkovka, Stepnaya Novoselovka, Lozovaya and Kruglyakovka. Six of these clashes are ongoing.
In the Liman direction, the invaders carried out 10 attacks on Ukrainian positions near Makeyevka, Grekovka, Novosadovo and Dibrova. Seven combat clashes ended without success for the enemy, three more are ongoing.
In the Seversky direction, one assault was repelled near the settlement of Ivano-Daryevka.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy made three assaults near Kalinovka, Chasy Yara and Stupochki. Two enemy attacks were repelled, one is ongoing.
In the Toretsk direction, the enemy concentrated its efforts in the areas of Toretsk and Nelipovka. In total, eight combat clashes occurred, seven of these attacks are still ongoing.
In the Pokrovsky direction, the occupiers have already carried out 19 assaults in the areas of the settlements of Sukhaya Balka, Novotoretskoye, Luch, Sukhoi Yar, Lisovka, Krutoi Yar, Novogrodovka and Selidovo. The defense forces have repelled 12 attacks, and seven more are ongoing.
In the Kurakhovsky direction, fighting continues near Tsukurino, Novoselidovka, Gornyak, Maksimilyanovka, Georgievka, Konstantinovka, Yekaterinovka, Antonovka and Vodyanoye. In this area, 14 out of 24 attacks by the occupation army have already been repelled today. Fierce fighting is underway.
In the Vremevsky direction, the enemy has attacked four times near Bogoyavlenka. One combat clash continues.
In the Orekhov direction, the occupiers attacked our units twice near Rabotino and Novodanilovka.
In the Dnieper direction, the invaders carried out three attacks. Two combat clashes continue.
Let us recall that in one day on October 7, Russia lost more than 1,300 soldiers at the front . The total losses of the aggressor country are approaching 670 thousand since the beginning of the great war.
