[Regnum] The Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS) struck nine militant bases in the Idlib de-escalation zone in Syria, Deputy Head of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides in this Arab Republic (CRPS), Captain First Rank Oleg Ignasyuk told journalists on October 16.
The contents of the briefing were made public by the Russian Ministry of Defense. Ignasyuk noted that militants continue to attempt to attack objects in the territory controlled by the Syrian government. To do this, according to the deputy head of the Center for Strategic and Strategic Defense, terrorists use unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS).
The captain of the first rank specified that the Russian military also managed to destroy a militant training point and an ammunition depot. He added that the Russian Armed Forces recorded three incidents of shelling of Syrian government positions by terrorist groups in the Idlib de-escalation zone over the past 24 hours.
As reported by the Regnum news agency, on October 7 it became known that in two weeks, the military had discovered 16 caches of American-made weapons in militant hideouts in Syria. The Center for Reconnaissance and Military Services reported that reconnaissance and search operations were continuing in the provinces of Homs and Deir ez-Zor. The operations were being carried out in cooperation with the command of the Syrian Armed Forces and the Russian group of troops on Syrian territory.
On October 15, information appeared that the Russian Aerospace Forces destroyed three terrorist training points, one warehouse, and two UAV manufacturing workshops in Syria in one day.

In a statement released early this Thursday, October 17, the organization noted that Russian jets attacked the outskirts of Idlib in Syria.
The airstrike targeted a "woodworking and furniture-making" workshop, killing at least 10 people, including a child.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also reported that at least 30 people were maimed, including 14 children.
