[Regnum] The Yemeni movement Ansar Allah, also known as the Houthis, launched a Palestine-2 hypersonic missile at an Israeli military base near the city of Jaffa. This was reported on November 11 by the Al Masirah TV channel controlled by the movement.
"The missile forces carried out a high-quality military operation targeting the Nahal Sorek military base in southeast Jaffa (Tel Aviv. - Ed.) in occupied Palestine. The operation was carried out using the Palestine-2 hypersonic ballistic missile," the channel said in a statement.
The movement noted that the operation was carried out against the backdrop of ongoing airstrikes by the US-British coalition on the Yemeni capital Sanaa and the provinces of Saada, Amran and Hodeida over the past three days.
As reported by the Regnum news agency, the Houthis carried out a similar strike on October 22. According to the movement's military spokesman Yahya Saria, the launched missile "successfully reached its targets, bypassing American and Israeli interception systems." Saria called the attack on the Israeli military base part of the "fifth stage of escalation" in the confrontation with Israel.
On October 7, the Houthis claimed to have carried out massive strikes on targets in Tel Aviv and Eilat, using two Palestine-2 and Zu Fiqar missiles and drones. Ansar Allah noted that one of the missiles was hypersonic. Their strikes targeted military targets in Tel Aviv. The drones attacked targets in the Jaffa and Umm al-Rashrash areas in southern Palestine.
On October 6, Ansar Allah leader Abdel Malik al-Houthi reported that the Houthis had attacked over 190 ships linked to Israel, the United States and Britain since October 7, 2023.
IDF intercepts missile fired from Yemen that set off sirens near Jerusalem
[IsraelTimes] A ballistic missile launched at Israel from Yemen this morning was successfully intercepted by air defenses, the IDF says.
The military adds that the missile shot down outside of Israeli airspace.
Sirens sounded near Jerusalem amid the incident.
Shrapnel from an interceptor missile landed in Beit Shemesh, sparking a small fire, according to police, fire services, and the military.
Monday’s ballistic missile attack from Yemen came hours after Al-Masirah TV, the main television news outlet run by the Houthis, said a series of airstrikes targeted the Amran and Saada governorates. The outlet said the strikes were carried out by the United States and Britain. There was no confirmation from either country.
The US and UK have repeatedly struck Houthi targets in Yemen since January in response to attacks by the Iran-backed rebels on shipping in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.
US warplanes also staged multiple strikes Saturday night on Houthi advanced weapons storage facilities in Yemen, the Pentagon said.
The facilities contained various weapons used to target military and civilian vessels navigating international waters throughout the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, according to information provided to AFP by the Pentagon.
In more than 100 Houthi attacks over nearly a year, four sailors have been killed and two ships have sunk, while one vessel and its crew remain detained since being hijacked last November.
The attacks have seriously disrupted a maritime route that carries 12 percent of global trade.
Israel has also twice bombed Houthi targets in retaliation for ballistic missile and drone attacks, including one that killed a man in Tel Aviv.
Yemen’s Houthis have fired over 220 ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and drones at Israel over the past year, saying that the attacks are in solidarity with Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, where Israel has been battling Hamas since the October 7 attack.
