[IsraelTimes] The United States stresses at the United Nations that “there must be no forcible displacement, nor policy of starvation in Gaza” by Israel, warning that this would have grave implications under US and international law. Why do they never chide Hamas, who are the ones stealing the aid and selling it at highly inflated prices to the locals that they at gunpoint prevent from leaving? The Rantburg archives remember that the hundreds of kilometers of tunnels criss-crossing the Gaza Strip were dug by children. US Ambassador to the UN Linda Thomas-Greenfield says that “thanks to intervention by the United States, Israel has taken some important steps” toward addressing “the undisputed humanitarian crisis” in the Strip.Every day I am more grateful that these people will be in charge for only a few weeks more. “Still, Israel must ensure its actions are fully implemented — and its improvements sustained over time,” she tells the UN Security Council.Related: Linda Thomas-Greenfield 11/11/2024 Trump confirms NYer Elise Stefanik will be his enforcer to the UN: ‘Strong, tough, and smart' Linda Thomas-Greenfield 10/30/2024 US 'concerned' over Israeli killing of 109 in Beit Lahia Linda Thomas-Greenfield 10/17/2024 Israel lets 50 aid trucks into northern Gaza after US threat to curb arms deliveries |
