Nancy Pelosi Files Campaign Paperwork for 2026 Reelection
2024-11-15
[Breitbart] Even a tick knows when to disengage from its victim
Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has filed to run for reelection in 2026 even as she is reportedly doing “terrible” after President-elect Donald Trump’s massive victory and Republicans taking the Senate and retaining the House majority.

The 84-year-old career politician, whose district covers San Francisco, has been in the House since 1987 and remains so after winning a 20th term last week.

She made her thoughts clear on the election outcome by saying Democrats might have fared better if President Joe Biden had exited the race sooner and gone before the party turned on him.

Pelosi told the New York Times that “had the president gotten out sooner, there may have been other candidates in the race.”

She was speaker of the House twice: from 2007 to 2011 and from 2019 to 2023 and now she plans to stay at the very highest level of government by filing for a 2026 return, according to the Federal Election Commission.

#8  Insider trading protection is the key! The rest is all about ego, the perception of influence, and keeping at least a few vestiges of power to keep the wolves at bay, a lifetime of enemies who would savage her if she was powerless.

#7  It has devoured her identity. If she retired now, she would not last 6 months.

Like if a lifelong raging alcoholic goes cold turkey.

#6  I believe in a new tax bracket - if you are a lifelong politician and you naturally croak out after 65 while in office all your assets are forfeited to the state.

#1  Really, it's pretty sad that she can't think of anything better to do than waste her few remaining years in Washington DC just like Diane Feinstein and Ruth Bader Ginsberg did. She'll never have anywhere near the power she had when she was Speaker of the House. How do you follow an accomplishment like that? You don't. All of her accomplishments were for evil anyway. She should step aside and let younger people have a chance. Miserable old hag. Yes, it's sad but she deserves it.
