[Regnum] One of the main tasks of the Russian Defense Ministry is to ensure the full readiness of the country's Armed Forces for a possible military conflict with NATO, which may take place in Europe in the next decade. This was stated on Monday, December 16, by Defense Minister Andrei Belousov.
The fact that such a conflict is possible is indicated by decisions made at the NATO summit in July, as well as doctrinal documents of the United States and other countries of the military bloc, Belousov said at a meeting of the Defense Ministry.
“Ensuring full readiness for any development of the situation in the medium term, including a possible military conflict with NATO in Europe in the next decade,” Belousov named one of the tasks of the Ministry of Defense.
As reported by the Regnum news agency, during his speech at the Defense Ministry board, President Vladimir Putin stated that the military-political situation in the world remains unstable and difficult due to Washington's actions. The US authorities are driving Russia to the red line, and when Russia begins to respond, they frighten their population with it, the head of state explained.
The President noted that NATO countries are increasing military spending and building up strike groups near Russia's borders. Putin stressed that such actions by the military bloc will not go unanswered.
Putin also stated that there are no rules for the US leadership, and that American politicians wage hybrid wars against states they don't like, including Russia. Representatives of the West, not believing in God, consider themselves His representatives on Earth, the president said.
