A video of the execution of Ukrainian prisoners of war in the Kursk direction is being circulated on social networks.
Russian troops have once again executed captured Ukrainian soldiers. This happened in Kursk region, ombudsman Dmitry Lubinets reported on Telegram on Sunday, February 23.
According to him, a video of the execution of Ukrainian prisoners of war has been circulated online again. The footage shows two Ukrainian soldiers lying on snowy ground with their hands behind their heads, and Russians standing over them.
The Ukrainians said they were serving in the 82nd Brigade. The soldiers explained that they were evacuating, but blew themselves up. After that, the Russian started shouting that the Ukrainians were lying and fired several shots at the prisoners.
"The shooting of Ukrainian prisoners of war is further evidence of the inhuman cruelty of the Russian army. The video that is spreading on social networks is evidence of the deliberate killing of defenseless Ukrainian prisoners of war. This is a gross violation of the Geneva Convention and all norms of international humanitarian law," Lubinets emphasized.
The Human Rights Commissioner assured that he had contacted the UN and the International Committee of the Red Cross.
Let us recall that in November 2024, it was reported that law enforcement officers were investigating 49 criminal cases on the facts of the murder of 124 prisoners of war on the battlefield. But after that, new facts of the executions of Ukrainian soldiers came to light.
