The department announced the termination of the institute’s license today.Â
The license for educational activities issued to the UHPE (DOU) RO "Imam Shamil Islamic Institute" has been terminated in accordance with the law "On licensing certain types of activities", according to a message on the Rosobrnadzor website.Â
The agency does not provide specific reasons for which it was decided to terminate the license of this educational institution. The aforementioned law provides for a number of grounds for terminating a license, including violations of licensing requirements and the absence of an application for periodic confirmation of the license. Rosobrnadzor has not previously reported warnings to the Imam Shamil Islamic Institute.Â
The Imam Shamil Islamic Institute is located in Kizilyurt and was established in 1994 on the basis of the Moscow Higher Spiritual Islamic College, founded that same year under the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the European Part of Russia, according to information on the institution's website. The institute had a perpetual license from Rosobrnadzor since 2014 and trained bachelors in the field of "Theology".Â
The rector of the Imam Shamil Islamic Institute in Kizilyurt, Abdurakhman Shamsudinov, died in May 2020, RIA Dagestan reported. According to the Rusprofile counterparty verification service, since August 2020, the rector has been listed as Shamsudinov Sadam-Khusen Abdurakhmanovich.Â
There is no information about the institute's current activities in public sources: the class schedule posted on the website has not been updated since 2020, and the last publications on the university's Facebook* and Instagram* pages were published in January and February 2022, respectively.
