(3) China Halts Boeing Orders in Trade War Escalation |
2025-04-16 |
[X] China has issued directives to its airlines, prohibiting the acceptance of new Boeing aircraft deliveries and stopping the purchase of U.S.-made aviation parts. This move is seen in the context of escalating tensions due to tariffs imposed by the U.S. government on Chinese goods. The decision reflects a broader strategy in the ongoing trade negotiations between China and the United States, impacting both aviation industries. |

#11 I just heard Trump saying once again: "They (Germany) don't take our cars. There are no Chevrolets in Munich." You know, this annoys me to no end. Chevrolet mostly withdrew from the European market because they were incompetent to build the type of cars Europeans prefer (non gaz-guzzling sleek sedans) in acceptable quality. German importers of Japanese and even Korean cars pay 10% tariff just like importers of U.S. cars do, but they have no problem selling millions of them. Chevrolet only sells Camaro and Corvette in Germany and you do see some of them in Munich. And as you know I drive a Cadillac. Stop blaming tariffs for what is actually incompetence. |

#7 Today's China does NOT have 5,000 years of history. Mao very intentionally and systematically destroyed it. Today's China has less history than the US. |
