[GEO.TV] Israel's military has acknowledged it mistakenly killed 15 Palestinian rescue workers in Gaza and will dismiss a field commander, AFP reported ''We're saying it was a mistake. We don't think it's a daily mistake,'' said investigator Major General Yoav Har-Even. The probe cited ''professional failures'' and rejected allegations of indiscriminate fire or executions. ''The troops did not engage in indiscriminate fire,'' the military stated, saying six of the dead were later identified as Hamas members, though no weapons were found. The Palestine Red Crescent denounced the findings as ''full of lies''. ''All the martyrs were shot in the upper part of their bodies,'' said its president. UN agencies confirmed those killed included Red Crescent, civil defence, and UNRWA staff. Footage from a victim's phone showed ambulances with lights on, challenging Israel's claim that vehicles approached suspiciously. Israel denied concealment but confirmed the site was not reported accurately and bodies were buried to ''prevent further harm''.
