Indian Army Jawan Martyred in Ongoing Encounter in J&K’s Udhampur [Oneindia] An encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists in the Dudu Basantgarh area of Jammu and Kashmir's Udhampur district on Thursday. According to a statement from the Indian Army's White Knight Corps, the operation was launched based on specific intelligence inputs. "A joint operation with the Jammu and Kashmir Police was launched today in Basantgarh, Udhampur. Contact was established, and a fierce firefight ensued," the statement read. Tragically, one Indian Army soldier was critically injured during the initial exchange of fire and later succumbed to his injuries despite the best medical efforts. Amid Tensions With Pakistan, Indian Navy Test Fires Medium Range Missile In Arabian Sea [Oneindia] Amid tensions with Pakistan over the Pahalgam terrorist attack, the Indian Navy successfully intercepted a fast-moving, sea-skimming missile target during a test conducted by its newest guided-missile destroyer. While Pakistan claims the test will occur within its Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ), Indian defense officials are closely monitoring the situation.
