[Regnum] Russian special services have identified and detained 45 people for involvement in the terrorist attack in the Crocus City Hall in Krasnogorsk, Moscow Region. This was stated in an interview with TASS by the Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Sergei Shoigu.
According to Shoigu, Ukrainian military intelligence uses terrorists from international organizations and migrants for high-profile attacks, such as the attack on Crocus in 2024. Russian intelligence agencies identified and detained 45 people involved in this terrorist attack.
On the evening of March 22, 2024, terrorists stormed Crocus City Hall, where a concert was to be held. They opened fire on guests and staff, then set a fire. As a result of the terrorist attack, 144 people were killed and 551 were injured.
The Secretary of the Security Council emphasized that threats from terrorist organizations that seek to establish cells on Russian territory, especially in the North Caucasus, still remain. Western countries use terrorism to contain the Russian Federation in Central and South Asia, the Middle East and other regions.
In 2024, more than 200 terrorist attacks were prevented, including 14 in educational institutions and public places. More than 1,800 terrorists were detained, 42 attackers were neutralized. More than 120 thousand materials of terrorist content were removed, accounts worth more than 230 million rubles were blocked.
