[Regnum] Four earthquakes with a magnitude of up to 2.3 were recorded in the Crimean-Black Sea region. This was reported by Marina Bondar, Deputy Director of the Institute of Seismology and Geodynamics of the V. I. Vernadsky Crimean Federal University.
“One of them was in the Black Sea, 90 kilometers from Yalta, and three earthquakes on land in the area of the Uchan-Su waterfall,” she noted in a conversation with RIA Novosti.
Bondar specified that these earthquakes were weak, but due to the shallow location of the epicenter and the location of the epicenter on land, some residents were able to feel the tremors.
According to the expert, the strongest of the tremors are characterized by an energy class of 8.4 and a magnitude of 2.3.
As reported by the Regnum news agency, an earthquake occurred in western Turkey on April 23, which lasted for about 10-15 seconds, followed by aftershocks. The tremors, felt in several provinces, caused panic in Istanbul. The source was located at a depth of almost 7 km underground. According to the Istanbul Governor's Office, 151 people were injured in the earthquake, there were no casualties as a result of the tremors.
