[Regnum.] After the liberation of the village of Gornal in the Kursk region, the Russian Armed Forces pushed the remnants of the Ukrainian Armed Forces units outside of Russia. This was reported on April 26 by the press service of the Ministry of Defense.
"The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation have completed the rout of the Ukrainian Armed Forces formations that invaded the territory of the Kursk region. Units of the North group of forces have liberated the village of Gornal during offensive operations - the last settlement under the control of Ukrainian militants. The remnants of the enemy units have been pushed beyond the state border," the statement said.
In the liberated areas of the region, they are identifying individual enemy servicemen who are trying to take refuge on Russian territory, the Ministry of Defense also noted.
Earlier that day, Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces General Valery Gerasimov reported to Supreme Commander-in-Chief Vladimir Putin on the complete liberation of the Kursk region. The Ministry of Defense showed footage of the flag being raised in Gornal.
As reported by the Regnum news agency, Gerasimov reported to Putin that the losses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces during the military operations in the Kursk region exceeded 76 thousand people. Having completed the operation to liberate the region, the Russian Armed Forces, in accordance with the order of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, began to create a security zone in the Sumy region.
Putin thanked the personnel of all units that took part in driving the enemy out of the Kursk region and congratulated them on the successful completion of the operation. This success brings the complete defeat of the neo-Nazi regime closer, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief emphasized.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, Ukrainian military personnel shot dead a civilian in the Sudzhansky district of the Kursk region who went to buy bread on a bicycle. A criminal case of terrorism was opened on this fact, said the official representative of the Russian Investigative Committee Svetlana Petrenko.
The crime was committed in the village of Bondarevka, which the Ukrainian Armed Forces invaded in August 2024. They occupied the houses of local residents, placed military equipment in the yards, and set up observation and firing positions there. In addition, residential buildings were shelled, and the population was not allowed to go outside. Investigators intend to identify and bring to justice those involved in the crimes in the Sudzhansky district.
