[Korrespondent] Ukrainian Armed Forces are holding back Russian offensive in eastern and southern Ukraine.
The enemy's greatest activity remains in the Pokrovsky direction. Almost 40 battles of varying intensity have already taken place there.
Since the beginning of the current day, 109 combat clashes have occurred on the front. Active battles are being conducted in four directions, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported in an operational report as of 16:00 on Friday, May 2.
Thus, in the Kharkov direction, Russian troops attacked three times in the Volchansk area.
In the Kupyansk direction, the enemy made three attempts to advance in the area of ​​the settlements of Kolesnikovka, Novaya Kruglyakovka and Zagryzovo. All attacks were stopped.
In the Liman direction, the aggressor attacked 14 times near the settlements of Novoye, Zelenaya Dolina, Kolodezi, Mirnoye, Sergeyevka, Grekovka and Kopanki. Three armed clashes are currently ongoing.
In the Seversky direction, an assault was repelled in the Belogorovka area.
In the Kramatorsk direction, six attacks in the area of ​​Chasovy Yar and in the direction of Novomarkovskoye and Belaya Gora have been successfully repelled. Another battle is currently ongoing.
In the Toretsk direction, the enemy attacked three times in the areas of Toretsk and Sukha Balka. One combat clash is still ongoing.
The enemy's highest activity remains in the Pokrovsk direction - 39 battles of varying intensity. Ukrainian Armed Forces units are repelling attacks in the areas of the settlements of Vodyanoye Vtoroye, Novotoretskoye, Elizavetovka, Lysovka, Dachenskoye, Shevchenko, Kotlino, Udachnoye, Nadezhdovka, Kotlyarovka, Preobrazhenka and Andreyevka. Seven battles are still ongoing.
In the Novopavlovsk direction, the occupiers tried to break through 15 times in the areas of Ravnopolye, Privolnoye, Razliv, Konstantinopol, Burlatskoye and in the direction of Otradnoye and Bogatyr. Our defenders stopped 12 assaults, but three clashes are still ongoing.
In the Gulyai-Polye direction , in the area of ​​the settlement of Chervone, the Defense Forces successfully repelled two enemy attacks. Two more combat clashes remain unfinished.
In the Orekhov direction, the Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled three attacks near Malaya Tokmachka and Stepovoye, and another battle continues.
In the Kursk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 13 attacks by the invaders, and three more clashes are ongoing.
Let us recall that in the course of 24 hours on May 1, Russia lost more than 1,100 soldiers killed and wounded at the front. The total number of Russian losses is approaching 1 million people.
