[Regnum] The death toll from the earthquake in the capital of Thailand, Bangkok, has reached 86 people. This was reported on May 4 on the website of the Thai public broadcasting service Thai PBS.
According to updated information, the search for another 14 people continues; they are listed as missing.
The identification procedure has been completed for 63 of the deceased. It has been established that 46 people were Thai citizens. Another 15 were citizens of Myanmar, one was from Cambodia and one was from Laos.
A powerful earthquake, accompanied by tremors with a magnitude of 7.7 to 7.9, occurred in Myanmar on March 28. Aftershocks were felt in several neighboring countries, including China and Thailand. In Bangkok, a 30-story building under construction of the Auditor General's Office collapsed. Its rubble is still being cleared.
