According to journalists, at least 63 Palestinians were killed by Israel's actions on the first day of the week alone. Dozens of civilians were injured.
Several areas of the enclave were subjected to bombing and shelling, including refugee camps in Nuseirat and Ash-Shujaiya, Khan Younis and Rafah.
