[Korrespondent] Ukrainian Armed Forces Contain Russian Attacks in Eastern and Southern Ukraine.
The Russian army is attacking in the areas of 14 settlements in the Pokrovsk direction. Most of the enemy assaults have already failed.
Since the beginning of the current day, 79 combat clashes have occurred on the front. The Russian occupation army has concentrated almost half of its attacks in the Pokrovsk area, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported in an operational report as of 16:00 on Tuesday, May 6.
Thus, in the Kharkov direction, our defenders repelled two enemy attacks in the area of ​​Volchansk. At present, three more clashes are continuing there.
In the Kupyansk direction, the enemy twice unsuccessfully attacked in the areas of the settlements of Zagryzovo and Petrovpavlovka.
In the Liman direction, the invader's army carried out eight attacks in the areas of the settlements of Lipovoe, Redkodub, and in the directions of Novy Mir and Kolodezi. Two combat clashes are currently ongoing.
In the Kramatorsk direction, our defenders repelled two attacks in the areas of Kurdyumovka and Chasovy Yar. There is one battle going on now.
In the Toretsk direction, the Russians tried to attack in the areas of Dachny and Toretsk. One assault has already been repelled. Another clash is still ongoing.
In the Pokrovsk direction, the enemy organized 36 attacks in the areas of the populated areas of Kalinovo, Promin, Lysovka, Dachenskoye, Shevchenko, Kotlino, Udachnoye, Novosergeevka, Kotlyarovka, Serebryanoye, Andreyevka and in the directions of Malinovka, Mirolyubovka, Alekseyevka. The defense forces have already repelled 27 assaults.
In the Novopavlovsk direction, our soldiers are currently repelling three attacks, and 11 attempts to storm our positions have already been stopped in the areas of the populated areas of Konstantinopol, Rivnepol, Novoselka, Volnoye Pole and in the directions of the populated areas of Shevchenko, Novopol, Otradnoye.
In the Gulyai-Polye direction, two attacks were stopped in the area of ​​the settlement of Vysokoye.
In the Orekhov direction, our defenders successfully stopped four assaults in the areas of Stepovoye, Malye Shcherbaki, Kamenskoye and in the direction of Novoandreyevka.
In the Dnieper direction, Russian occupiers once unsuccessfully attacked the positions of our defenders.
In the Kursk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled three attacks by the invaders.
Let us recall that on May 5, 200 combat clashes occurred on the front in 24 hours. In the Pokrovsk direction, the Ukrainian Armed Forces stopped 78 attacks by the Russian army.
It also became known that over the past 24 hours Russia lost more than 1,400 fighters killed and wounded. Total Russian losses are approaching 1 million people.
