[Redstate] New York City previously tore down a historic Thomas Jefferson statue only to now erect a 12-foot bronze statue of an "overweight black woman," which many blasted as "tasteless" and more. The statue is called "Grounded in the Stars" and was unveiled on Wednesday in Times Square, created by artist Thomas J. Price. The artist's "Man Series," a stop motion animation, will also appear nightly throughout May on the district’s billboards, providing a "two-part takeover" in the district that "amplifies traditionally marginalized bodies on a monumental scale," per the Times Square website. Price said, per the Times Square site.

#8 The statue is part of series. They built and placed ugly statutes in a bunch of cities. All equally gross and ugly. They act much like a Motivational Poster, but the opposite, like a Demotivational Poster. |

#3 There are lots of very attractive Black women. I'm friends with several. They would make very nice - even impressive - statues. So I'm calling this a troll. Yes, this is an accurate representation of a social services admin. worker on a bad day. No, this isn't a celebration of a marginalized physical type. This is a lady we all know. |

#2 Grounded in the Burgers more like it. And the scolding pose, why it's just like 'Laocoon and his Sons'. Why are they being so insulting to the Black Community? The Met Gala 'Black Dandy' was wild. Other than it being extra gay, the message 'occasionally Black People in history did dress up' is an odd message, while simultaneously flooding the media with obvious AI generated 'well dressed Blacks throughout history' makes it all taste like crappy water bottled in cheap plastic and left in the sun. Seriously, one I saw had so many straps and dangly bit to get caught up in hooves and horns, the 'Well dressed Black Woman cattle handlers' looked more like a Dallas Strip Club outfit with Beyonce being played over-bassed on worn out speakers. |
