[Regnum] On May 17, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) killed one of the Hezbollah commanders in southern Lebanon, who, according to the Israeli military, was engaged in restoring the organization's infrastructure. This was stated in a statement by the army press service.
"Earlier on Saturday, the IDF struck and killed a Hezbollah commander in the Shaqif region in the Gamgim area (south of the city of Tyre - Ed.) in Lebanon. The terrorist was involved in rebuilding Hezbollah's terrorist infrastructure in the area," the statement said.
The Israeli army noted that the restoration of terrorist infrastructure is a gross violation of the ceasefire agreements between Israel and Lebanon.
As reported by Regnum, the IDF had previously announced the elimination of Hezbollah commanders following a tip from religious singer Mohammad Hadi Saleh. Hassan Beir, a commander of one of Hezbollah's border units, was killed. The Israelis received his coordinates after he attended Saleh's charity concert.
Hassan's son Ali, who was also his father's deputy, was killed along with him. The unit entrusted to them lost its combat capability for some time, which was taken advantage of by the Israeli forces advancing in southern Lebanon.

The operative, who was targeted on a road near Mazraat Jemjim — some 30 kilometers from the Israeli border — in the Tyre District, was the commander of Hezbollah’s forces in the Beaufort Castle area, the military said.

Earlier in the day, an Israeli quadcopter dropped a bomb on an agricultural vehicle in the southern town of al-Dhayra, as an Israeli strike targeted a prefab room and a stone factory in the border town of Yarin.
An Israeli drone had bombed a hangar in the southern town of Aita al-Shaab at dawn, causing no casualties.
