Russian troops are actively transferring personnel to the border areas of the Kharkiv region. Ukrainian military assumes that the enemy is preparing for active assault actions. This was stated by the chief of staff of the 13th operational brigade Charter Andriy Pomahaybus on the air of the Public on Wednesday, May 21.
"We need to have surveillance in all the most dangerous areas of approach to our front line. The accumulation of personnel is happening closer to the state border, that is, there are attempts to pull personnel together, obvious preparations for active assault actions by the enemy. Our Defense Forces are ready to repel attacks," he noted.
According to the officer, the invaders are using a combination of tactics: using artillery and drones for reconnaissance and destruction, and then bringing in infantry. Some directions are used for distraction, others for advancement.
Pomagaibus also emphasized the serious threat posed by fiber-optic drones, whose range can reach 15-30 km.
"The main build-up on their part is drones on optical fiber. This is a very painful issue. We are taking countermeasures. The main advantage of these drones is that we cannot detect them with electronic warfare and suppress them. But there are still mechanisms to counter such drones," he added.
It should be noted that 164 combat clashes were recorded on the front over the past 24 hours . In the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian defenders stopped 44 assault actions by Russians.
