"DuPont, 52, was walking along a creek on his farm one night when he noticed something glittering in the water. He dug into the mud and found gold nuggets," the publication states.
At the same time, Dupont does not have the right to independently excavate this deposit. According to French law, he must first obtain the appropriate permission from the regional government. This deposit is already called one of the largest in the republic, and the preliminary cost of all gold nuggets may be about 3 billion euros (320 billion rubles).
According to Dupont himself, his discovery has created a wave of people wanting to buy land near his farm, who also hope to discover gold.
