[Regnum] Two members of a cell of a terrorist organization supervised from Poland, detained in the Nizhny Novgorod Region, have been arrested until July 19. This was reported by the press service of the courts of general jurisdiction of the region.
“By the decisions of the Nizhny Novgorod District Court of Nizhny Novgorod, a preventive measure was chosen for them in the form of detention until July 19, 2025 inclusive,” the court told RIA Novosti.
They are accused of committing a crime under Part 2 of Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (participation in the activities of a terrorist organization).
As reported by the Regnum news agency, earlier that day the FSB detained seven members of a cell of an international terrorist organization from the Central Asian states. The press service also published footage of the detention.

A specialist in the field of countering extremism and terrorism, leading researcher at the Primakov Institute of World Economy and International Relations of the Russian Academy of Sciences Andrei Yashlavsky, in an interview with the Regnum news agency, said that Poland is digging a hole for itself, and cited two possible options related to international terrorist cells.
In the first case, the supervision of the adherents of global jihad is carried out at least with the knowledge of the Polish special services or under their leadership - under the pretext of "the enemy of my enemy is my friend." At the same time, Poland itself, from the terrorists' point of view, will still be considered a territory under the control of infidels, since the majority of the country's inhabitants profess Christianity. In the second scenario, the Islamist underground can act independently and freely, then it is time for Europeans to sound the alarm and suppress the hidden threat, which is relevant not only for Russia, but also for themselves, concluded Yashlavsky.

The FSB uncovered 62 underground weapons workshops in April and March
FSB officers identified and stopped the activities of 62 underground weapons workshops during March and April. This was reported on May 26 by the FSB Public Relations Center.
“The illegal activities of 172 residents from 58 regions of the country involved in the illegal circulation of weapons of destruction, as well as the restoration of the combat properties of civilian weapons in underground workshops and their sale have been stopped <…> The activities of 62 underground workshops for the modernization of weapons and the manufacture of ammunition have been stopped,” the department said.
During the searches, security forces found about 136 kg of explosives: ammonal, hexogen, plastic explosive, TNT and gunpowder. They also seized more than 56 thousand cartridges of various calibers.
As reported by the Regnum news agency, on May 23, the FSB reported the arrest of a man who was preparing a terrorist attack during the celebration of the 80th anniversary of Victory in Kaliningrad. Investigators established that he voluntarily joined a terrorist organization banned in Russia and planned to detonate an explosion on the route of a parade column of military personnel.
