[Korrespondent] The Ukrainian Armed Forces are holding back the Russian offensive in the east and south of Ukraine.
The greatest activity of the Russian army is recorded in the Pokrovsk direction. There, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have already repelled 27 attacks since the beginning of the day.
Since the beginning of the current day, 79 combat clashes have occurred on the front in 11 directions. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in an operational report as of 16:00 on Thursday, May 29.
Thus, in the Kharkov direction, the Russians attacked twice in the areas of Staritsa and Vovchansk.
In the Kupyansk direction, the enemy carried out two assaults in the area of ​​Novaya Kruglyakovka. Currently, one battle is ongoing.
In the Liman direction, the invading army attacked five times near the settlements of Lipovoe, Grekovka and Ridkodub. Three combat clashes are ongoing.
In the Seversky direction, the enemy tried unsuccessfully four times to advance in the direction of Grigoryevka.
In the Kramatorsk direction, four attempts by the occupiers to advance forward in the directions of Predtechnoye, Belaya Gora, Stupochki and in the Kurdyumovka area have been stopped. One combat clash continues.
In the Toretsk direction, a fierce battle is taking place near Toretsk.
In the Pokrovsky direction, the occupiers carried out 31 assaults in the areas of the settlements of Zarya, Popov Yar, Malinovka, Mirolyubovka, Elizavetovka, Lisovka, Kotlin, Novosergeevka, Udachnoye, Troitskoye and Andreyevka. The defense forces have already stopped 27 attacks.
In the Novopavlovsk direction, the enemy attacked 16 times in the areas of the settlements of Konstantinopol, Bogatyr, Zelenoe Pole, Novopol, Volnoe Pole and Novodarovka. Three combat clashes are ongoing.
In the Orekhov direction, the enemy attacked twice near Stepovoye.
In the Dnieper direction the enemy carried out one unsuccessful attack.
In the Kursk direction, our defenders repelled four attacks by the Russians, and seven more combat clashes continue.
Let us recall that in the course of 24 hours on May 28, Russia lost more than 1,000 servicemen killed and wounded. The total number of Russian losses is approaching 1 million people.
