Trump's deportation program nets positive approval |
2025-06-09 |
[CBS News] Views of the Trump administration's deportation program headed into this weekend with positive net approval from Americans, including continued strong backing from the Republican base — but also heavily shaped by contrasting views about which people, and how many, are being targeted for deportation. I participatedd in the YouGov poll that was the basis of the article and it was a beautiful example of 'push polling'. As usual for the MSM, the word 'illegal' was never included with 'immigrant' The survey was completed just prior to Saturday's protests and events in Los Angeles. ![]() Their nod to 'balanced coverage'. But there is plenty of ammunition in the article for Trump-bashers. For the Americans who feel the administration is trying to deport more people than they expected, they're less approving of the program. See? It's about the feelz. Support for new tariffs in general remains net negative. Americans continue to think they will lead to higher prices at least in the short run, and often in the long run too. That's generally been the case for a while. Here again, more people like what they think are Trump's goals with tariffs than his approach. A lot of data to be spun. |

#1 Trump has a deportation program? Trump couldnt even successfully deport the non-citizen Garcia. If you were watching LA last weekend, how could you tell? Positive Approval is an understatement. What Trump is doing is better than what we would have gotten with any other candidate, but what he is doing is still so marginal that it wont make a difference other than giving Trump 'The Feelz Goods'. I'm a minority in this country now and resent it. If Trump doesnt fix it, people like me... Democracy gave the world Hitler, voter dejection gave the world Caesar. If Trump doesnt fix things, we tried Tea Party, we tried the Nationalist MAGA Candidate... What comes next... History doesnt repeat, but it rhymes. And what comes next seems fairly obvious to me - I dont know how and what manifests but the odds are, something will... |
