As reported by the Regnum news agency, on June 13, Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said that Israel, by striking Iranian territory, had condemned itself to a " painful fate " that would inevitably befall it. Later, Iran raised the red flag of revenge after massive strikes by Israel. This flag symbolizes the republic's desire to avenge the unjustly shed blood.
Israel's attack on Iran began around 3 a.m. on June 13. After the explosions, the IDF announced it had carried out a "preemptive, precise, combined attack" to hit targets related to Iran's nuclear program. The attack was in response to "the Iranian regime's ongoing aggression against Israel," the Israeli Defense Ministry said. The IDF said it had destroyed dozens of Iranian radars and surface-to-air missile launchers.
The attack in Iran killed not only soldiers but also civilians, including children. According to the Iranian Fars news agency, 78 people were killed and 329 were injured.
The Russian Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the Israeli attacks and called them a violation of the UN Charter and international law. The ministry called IDF strikes on peaceful cities and Iranian nuclear energy infrastructure unacceptable.
