Another massive Hamas underground terror tunnel in Gaza has been found and destroyed by the IDF, connecting Rafah and Khan Yunis

To be fair, in addition to digging tunnels, they did also kidnap and kill Jews from time to time, Also shot off rockets, and remember the fire balloons that they did for several summers in a row? Really, the Gazans didn’t have time to catch their breath, they were so busy jihading their little hearts out.

#7  One would have thought most of these would already have been found. How long to perform a seismic survey of the entire strip?

#6  #4 and making rockets

The rockets are Iranian (copy of Chinese, copy of Soviet) via Egypt.

#5  Looking at the photos that appear from time to time, they have not only subsidences all over, but the subsidences are more or less filled and surrounded by unstable rubble from the buildings above, buildings that are laced with explosive boobytraps. This is why President Trump wants the population moved out to somewhere safe and livable while the entire Gaza Strip is cleared for rebuilding — this is not a project that can be done piecemeal. The entire tunnel system has to be destroyed so the land above it can be dealt with. President Trump spent much of his career dealing with large scale construction issues, where the underlying strata were a primary concern.

Rantburg’s civil engineers no doubt have strong opinions on the subject.

#4  They were given all that nifty concrete (and 'water pipes') by various helpful agencies for 'infrastructure construction purposes', so one would assume that Hamas diverted a lot of that material for strengthening tunnels (and making rockets), Mercutio.

#3  Given the amount of tunneling, I'm surprised they don't have a sinkhole problem... other than the obvious metaphorical one.

#2  Hopefully the tunnel was filled to legal capacity with Hamass operators when the charges were ignited.
