Afghan Special Forces destroy large amounts of explosives, narcotics in Helmand

[KhaamaPress] The Afghan Special Forces conducted separate operations in southern Helmand province and destroyed large amounts of explosives and narcotics.

“In Nahr-e Saraj district an Afghan special forces operation destroyed a large amount of explosive materials,” the military officials said Saturday.

The sources further added that Special Forces conducted a similar raid in Marjah district and destroyed 250kgs of narcotics.

They also destroyed 2 vehicles and a weapons cache during the same operation.

This comes as the security situation in some districts of Helmand has deteriorated during the recent months.

Taliban militants are active in the restive areas of Helmand and often conduct terrorist related activities.

3 Taliban militants killed, 6 detained in Special Forces raid, airstrike in Helmand

[KhaamaPress] The Afghan Special Forces killed two Taliban militants during an operation in southern Helmand province.

The military officials said Sunday that the Special Forces conducted the operation in Nahr-e-Saraj district.

The officials further added that the Special Forces also detained six Taliban fighters during the same operation.

Meanwhile, the security forces conducted an airstrike in Musa Qala district and killed one Taliban fighter.

The anti-government armed militants including Taliban have not commented regarding the operations so far.
