Britain
London cops arrest 55 at rally outside UK Parliament for banned anti-Israel group
[IsraelTimes] British police say the demonstrators held up signs in support of Palestine Action to protest its proscription under anti-terrorism laws; another 8 arrested at protest in Cornwall

Fifty-five people were arrested at an anti-Israel, pro-Paleostinian rally outside Britannia’s parliament on Saturday, for alleged support for the banned Paleostine Action group, London’s Metropolitan Police said.

The crowd in Parliament Square had been waving placards supporting the group that was banned this month under anti-terrorism legislation, the force said in a post on X.

People from the rally, some wearing keffiyehs, were taken away in police vans.

At the protest, demonstrators held signs reading "I oppose genocide, I support Paleostine Action."

Police said that they created a "sterile area" to prevent the anti-Israel, pro-Paleostinian marchers from reaching the Stop the Hate counter-protest, calling for the hostages held in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. to be released.

A further eight demonstrators were held in Truro in Cornwall.

Other protests were held in northwestern Manchester, western Bristol and the Scottish capital Edinburgh.

Saturday’s rallies were organized by campaign group Defend Our Juries which had said they were intended to "defy" the ban.

Paleostine Action’s proscription was approved by parliament in the first days of July, and a last-ditch High Court challenge failed to stop it from becoming law.

The government announced plans for the ban under the Terrorism Act days after the group’s activists grabbed credit for a break-in at an air force base in southern England.

The group said it sprayed two aircraft with red paint, causing an estimated £7 million ($9.55 million) in damage.

Four people charged in the incident remain in jug

Since the ban came into effect on July 5, police have warned that expressing support for Paleostine Action is now a crime, and membership in the group now carries a prison sentence of up to 14 years.

The group has called the decision "authoritarian," and a challenge to the ban will be heard at London’s High Court on Monday.

Paleostine Action is among groups that have regularly targeted defense firms and other companies in Britannia linked to Israel since the start of the conflict in Gaza.

Police have arrested scores of the group’s supporters at rallies across Britannia since the ban came into force earlier this month.

Watch: Police Response to Anti-ICE Protest on Kentucky Bridge Delivered Unhappy Moments for Activists
[RedState] In liberal areas, it's not always clear that even if people are arrested, they will face real charges. And the cities don't always act to check such actions. In Portland, for example, things got so out of control that a resident sued the city to enforce the noise ordinances, so residents could sleep. She just wanted the city to do something so she could have some peace.

But on Thursday, the police in Covington, Kentucky didn't hold back in responding to anti-ICE folks as they moved from Ohio into their town and state on a bridge.

DPO injured, nine terrorists killed in fierce Hangu gunfight
[GEO.TV] A fierce exchange of fire broke out between security forces and turbans in the Shinawari Zargari area of Hangu, resulting in the deaths of nine bully boyz and injuries to District Police Officer (DPO) Muhammad Khalid.

DPO Khalid, who was leading the operation, sustained three gunshot wounds during the clash and has been shifted to Beautiful Downtown Peshawar

Inspector General (IG) Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Police, Zulfiqar Hameed, told news hounds that several other turbans were also injured in the exchange. He stated that DPO Khalid's condition is stable and out of danger. ''I've spoken to him, and his spirits remain high,'' IG Hameed added.

The IG reaffirmed the police force's commitment to continuing targeted operations against bully boyz across the province.

Iraq
Drone attack kills one in Sulaimani
[Rudaw] One person was killed and another was injured when their motorcycle was targeted by a drone in the Penjwen district of eastern Sulaimani province on Saturday, a local official confirmed.

“A Turkish drone targeted a motorcycle between Shewagwezan and Taymiz villages. It was carrying two people. One was killed and the other injured,” Ziyad Abdullah, mayor of Garmk subdistrict, told Rudaw.

An investigation has been launched into the incident and the two male victims have yet to be identified.

Penjwen Mayor Hemin Ibrahim confirmed the attack, stating that “it was a Turkish drone.”

Ankara has not commented on the incident.

Turkey frequently carries out attacks on suspected Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) targets throughout the Kurdistan Region. The PKK has declared a ceasefire and taken the first step towards laying down its arms, while in Ankara, parties in the parliament are discussing forming a commission to oversee a peace process. Despite this progress towards ending the four-decade conflict, Turkish forces have continued their military operation against the PKK, mainly in northern Duhok province.

Over the past month, there have been multiple drone attacks on the Kurdistan Region, especially its oil fields. The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) has blamed the attacks on Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), a charge Baghdad has denied.

These attacks have stopped since Thursday, when Erbil and Baghdad finalized a deal to end their tensions over finances and Kurdish oil exports that have been halted since 2023.
An attack by an unidentified drone killed a member of the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) and injured another near the Iraqi city of Sulaymaniyah, security sources and local officials say, the first attack of its kind in months.

Speaking Saturday to some 2,000 people at Tel Aviv’s Hostages Square, freed hostage Doron Steinbrecher urged Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to end the war, secure a hostage deal and "make Israel great again."

"Six months ago, I saw the sun for the first time after 471 days in the tunnels," Steinbrecher, who was released from Hamas captivity as part of a truce-hostage deal in January, said at the weekly rally. "Six months ago, I drew my first breath that wasn’t all fear."

The demonstration began earlier in the evening with a moment of silence for the 893 IDF soldiers killed during and since the Hamas onslaught of October 7, 2023.

The silence was pierced by a quarrel that ignited on the square’s southern edge, where left-wing protesters typically gather ahead of Saturday-night demonstrations with signs decrying "war crimes" and "genocide" in Gaza. A man bearing an Israeli flag emblazoned with an anti-government logo yelled at the left-wing activists that they should be "embarrassed" and appeared to almost come to blows with one of them before others separated them.

After the moment of silence ended, the rally’s MC, an attorney who heads the anti-government group Mothers on the Front, launched into a tirade against Haredi exemptions from mandatory military service.

During her speech, the left-wing activists left to attend a silent vigil on Kaplan Street for Paleostinian children killed in Gaza.

Protesters then joined with hostage families marching from three separate demonstrations. The participants in the rallies at Hostages Square, Begin Road and Habima Square marched on to a large demonstration outside the US Embassy Branch Office on Hayarkon Street.

A similar demonstration was held outside the US Consulate General building in Jerusalem.

Strip received the bodies of at least 98 civilians, as well as 511 people suffering from different injuries following Israeli attacks, according to Gaza's health ministry on Saturday morning.

Accordingly, a total of 7,938 people have been killed and 28,444 others have been injured since the Israeli occupation army resumed its genocidal war on Gaza on March 18, 2025.

The new fatalities increased the corpse count from the Israeli genocidal war on Gaza, which started on October 7, 2023, to 58,765 deaders, including 891 aid seekers who were killed at or near US-backed distribution points, the health ministry said.

The ministry added that the total number of the maimed also surged to 140,485 people, including 5,754 aid seekers.

Meanwhile,

efforts are underway to recover the bodies of more deaders who are still missing in different areas of the Gaza Strip.

aid sites early Saturday, Paleostinian officials said, accusing the Israeli military of opening fire on people trying to secure food. The IDF said that troops had fired warning shots and that it was investigating reports of casualties.

The Hamas
..a regional Iranian catspaw,...
-run civil defense agency said 26 people were killed. The News Agency that Dare Not be Named, quoting witnesses and hospital officials, put the corpse count at at least 32. Neither toll could immediately be verified.

The two incidents occurred near food-distribution hubs operated by the Israel-and US-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation.

Agency front man Mahmud Basal, who Israel has accused of being a Hamas operative, told AFP that 22 people were killed near a site southwest of Khan Yunis and four near another center northwest of Rafah, blaming "Israeli gunfire" for both.

The Israel Defense Forces said it was aware of reports of casualties after troops fired warning shots and that overnight, Paleostinians had approached Israeli forces in the Rafah area, "in a way that threatened the forces."

"Troops operated to prevent the suspects from approaching them, called for them to distance themselves, and after they did not comply, the troops fired warning shots," the IDF said.

According to the army, the incident took place a kilometer away from the closest aid site and during the night, when it was not open for Paleostinians to collect aid packages.

The IDF said the incident is under further review.

The military also said Saturday that the Israeli Air Force had struck approximately 90 terror targets in Gaza over the past day, including buildings used by terror operatives and tunnels.

The strikes come as five IDF divisions, made up of tens of thousands of troops, continue ground operations across the Strip.

The Hamas-run health ministry said two Paleostinians were killed in an Israeli Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
in Gaza City.

’INDISCRIMINATE FIRE’
Most of Saturday’s deaths occurred as Paleostinians massed in the Teina area, around three kilometers (2 miles) away from a GHF aid distribution center east of the city of Khan Younis.

Mahmoud Mokeimar, an eyewitness, said he was walking with masses of people — mostly young men — toward the food hub. Troops fired warning shots as the crowds advanced, before opening fire toward the marching people.

"It was a massacre ... the occupation shot up us indiscriminately," he said. He said he managed to flee but saw at least three motionless bodies lying on the ground, and many other maimed fleeing.

Akram Aker, another witness, said troops fired machine guns mounted on tanks and drones. He said the shooting happened between 5 a.m. and 6 a.m.

"They encircled us and started firing directly at us," he said. He said he saw many casualties lying on the ground.

Sanaa al-Jaberi, a 55-year-old woman, said she saw many dead and maimed as she fled the area.

"We shouted: ’food, food,’ but they didn’t talk to us. They just opened fire," she said.

The Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis said it received 25 bodies, along with dozens maimed.

Seven other people, including one woman, were killed in the Shakoush area, hundreds of meters (yards) north of another GHF hub in Gaza’s southernmost city of Rafah, the hospital said. The corpse count was also reported by the Hamas-controlled health ministry.

Dr. Mohammed Saker, the head of Nasser’s nursing department, said it received 70 maimed people. He told The News Agency that Dare Not be Named that most of the casualties were shot in their heads and chests, and that some were placed in the already overwhelmed intensive care unit.

"The situation is difficult and tragic," he said, adding that the facility lacks badly needed medical supplies to treat the daily flow of casualties.

Meanwhile,
...back at the dirigible, Jack stuck the cigar in his mouth, stepped onto the gantry, and asked Got a light, Mac?

Von Schtinken stopped short, lowering the dagger and trying to control his features.

If you light that thing, Herr Armschtröng, he pointed out, his voice tense, we all die!...

Fares Awad, head of the Health Ministry’s ambulance and emergency service in northern Gaza, confirmed the two deaths in Gaza City. He said an airstrike hit a tent in a camp sheltering displaced families in the courtyard of the Development Ministry. There were no further details on the target of the strike.

MOUNTING TOLL NEAR AID SITES
The reported casualties are the latest in a series of incidents over recent months, during which hundreds of people have been reported killed in repeated incidents of shooting near aid centers run by the GFH.

The GHF, which employs private armed guards, says there have been no deadly shootings at its sites, though this week, 20 people were killed at one of its locations, most of them in a stampede. The group accused Hamas agitators of causing a panic, but it was not possible to verify GHF’s claims regarding the affiliation of the agitators or what sparked the crush.

In videos obtained by the AP earlier this month from an American contractor working with GHF, contractors were seen using tear gas and stun grenades to keep crowds behind metal fences or to force them to disperse. Gunshots could also be heard.

GHF began operations in late May as Israel lifted a nearly three-month aid blockade on Gaza, amid a renewed offensive there that seeks to take over 75 percent of the Strip with the aim of defeating Hamas and securing the release of the hostages seized by the terror group during its October 7, 2023, attack.

The GHF has faced harsh criticism from the UN and other aid organizations, which called the aid group’s model "inherently unsafe" and charged that it fails to meet the needs of Gaza’s population.

While the GHF claims to have distributed millions of meals to hungry Paleostinians, local health officials and witnesses report that hundreds of people have been killed by army fire as they try to reach the distribution hubs.

The IDF, which is not at the sites but secures them from a distance, has said it only fires warning shots if crowds get too close to its forces.

Israel, which accuses Hamas of hoarding aid, has accused the terror group of attacking Gazook aid seekers near GHF sites and falsifying corpse counts. However,
we can't all be heroes. Somebody has to sit on the curb and applaud when they go by...
Israel has also acknowledged that "several" Paleostinian civilians have been killed near GHF aid distribution sites.

Two reservists seriously wounded by roadside bomb in Gaza
[IsraelTimes] Two reserve combat engineers were seriously wounded by a roadside bomb in the southern Gaza Strip earlier today, the military announces.

The troops include a reserve officer in the 710th Combat Engineering Battalion and a reservist in the 749th Combat Engineering Battalion.

They were taken to a hospital for treatment, and their families were notified, the army says.

According to an IDF probe, the soldiers were hit by an explosive device while driving in a Humvee

IDF set to begin ground operations in Deir al-Balah in central Gaza for first time
[IsraelTimes] The IDF issues a new evacuation warning for Palestinians residing in the southwest of Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip, as it is set to begin ground operations in the city for the first time since the start of the war.

“The IDF continues to operate with great force to destroy the enemy’s capabilities and terror infrastructure in the area, as it expands its activities into an area where it has not operated before,” says the IDF’s Arabic-language spokesperson, Col. Avichay Adraee, on X.

Civilians are instructed to head south to the Mawasi area on the coast.

It marks the first time since the beginning of the war that the IDF has issued an evacuation warning for the Deir al-Balah area, one of the few locations in the Strip where the military has not operated with ground troops.

The IDF has avoided ground operations in areas where it believes Hamas to be holding hostages, in order to not endanger them as the terror group has vowed to execute captives if troops near.

An estimated 350,000 Palestinians are residing in all of central Gaza, according to IDF estimates from May. It is unclear how many are in the newly evacuated zone.

More settler attacks reported in occupied West Bank
[GEO.TV] Dozens of people in al-Mughayyir, near Ramallah, suffered from tear gas inhalation after Israeli forces stormed the village following a settler attack, Al Jazeera reported, citing the Paleostinian news agency Wafa.

Residents had confronted the settlers, who attempted to enter the village, Wafa said.

Separately, in the village of Nilin, also near Ramallah, a Paleostinian man was injured after settlers attacked a home that was under construction.

The settlers fired live ammunition at residents who attempted to stop their attack, but no additional injuries were reported, Wafa said.

Demonstrators in the West Bank voice support for Gaza; some pro-Hamas chants are heard
[aisraelTimes] This evening, several hundred demonstrators took to the streets in two West Bank cities in support of Gaza residents amid the ongoing war.

At a protest in Ramallah attended by a few dozen people,
…a few dozen? Golly….
chants were heard including “We are your people, Hamas” and “Salute to the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades.” A protest was also held in Nablus, where chants were heard in support of Abu Ubaida, spokesperson for Hamas’s military wing.

Media outlets affiliated with Hamas claimed that Palestinian Authority security forces attempted to disperse the demonstrations, though there is currently no evidence to support this.

Demonstrations by West Bank residents in support of Gaza have taken place only a handful of times over the past two years.

Clashes end in Suwayda after govt forces deployment, 940 dead
[GEO.TV] Clashes within the southern city of Suwayda have come to a halt, Al Jazeera reported, citing a statement from Noureddine al-Baba, spokesman for the Interior Ministry in Syria.

The announcement, shared by Syria's official SANA news agency, comes after the government deployed forces in the Suwayda governorate to try to quell days of sectarian violence.

SOHR: Death toll from Al-Suwayda violence rises to 940
[HODHODYEMENNEWS.NET] The Syrian Observatory For Human Rights (SOHR) reported renewed festivities in the western neighbourhoods of al-Suwayda city between rustics and local button men from the Druze community following the breach of the international-sponsored ceasefire agreement which was reached today.

The recent escalation came at a time when groups of general security forces started to arrive in positions nearby al-Suwaidaa city as a part of the implementation of the terms of international-sponsored agreement designed to put an end to the current escalation and control the situation on frontline.

182 people, including 26 women, six children and an elderly man, were extrajudicially executed by members of the Syrian ministries of defence and interior.

Three civilians from Bedouin tribes, including a woman and a child, were extrajudicially executed by button men of the Druze sect.

Fighting has intensified in al-Suwayda province, southern Syria, as Druze factions clash with Sunni Moslem Bedouins. Reports indicate significant civilian casualties and atrocities

After initially withdrawing and leaving local forces to oversee the situation, Syrian government troops redeployed on Saturday in an effort to curb the violence.

The Syrian Presidency subsequently declared a 'comprehensive and immediate' ceasefire across the province, urging all parties to comply.

Israel preparing to send medical gear to Sweida as clashes persist despite ceasefire
[IsraelTimes] Syrian war monitor says fighting across province ongoing, although Druze fighters regained control of provincial capital after booting out rival armed factions

Israel is preparing to send medical equipment and medicine to a hospital in the Druze-majority city of Sweida, in southern Syria, after days of violence left an estimated 900 people dead and the medical facility badly damaged, the Health Ministry announced on Saturday.

The announcement came even as fighting persisted across Sweida province since last Sunday, despite the latest attempts from Syria’s Islamist-led government to restore order following a US-brokered deal to avert further Israeli military intervention.

As Druze fighters clashed with Sunni Bedouin tribes, who were later joined by government forces, reports emerged from Sweida of regime forces killing women and boys, looting homes, and shaving Druze clerics’ mustaches. Videos also showed Druze fighters beating captured government forces and posing by their bodies.

Israel launched dozens of airstrikes on convoys of government fighters and struck the Syrian defense ministry headquarters in central Damascus, saying it was acting in support of the Druze, who form a substantial community in Israel and are seen as a loyal minority, often serving in the Israeli military.

In a latest show of support for Syria’s Druze, the Health Ministry said on Saturday evening that Israel’s security forces would deliver medical equipment and medicine to a hospital in Sweida once it has received authorization to do so from all relevant authorities.

“Our brotherhood with the Druze community is well known, but beyond that, we are committed to a ‘covenant of life.’ We cannot stand idly by when members of the community — inside or outside Israel — are in danger,” Health Minister Uriel Buso said.

“This initiative reflects the values that guide Israel’s healthcare system and our longstanding alliance with the Druze community,” said Health Ministry Director General Moshe Bar Siman Tov. “Providing medical assistance to the injured is a moral obligation.”

Fighting persisted across the Sweida province on Saturday, and a war monitor reported toward night that Druze fighters had successfully pushed out rival armed factions and regained control over their city.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitor said that “tribal fighters withdrew from Sweida city on Saturday evening” after Druze fighters launched a large-scale attack.

Earlier Saturday, an AFP correspondent saw dozens of torched homes and vehicles, and armed men setting fire to shops after looting them.

The Syrian interior ministry announced that internal security forces had begun deploying in Sweida province, and AFP correspondents saw them manning checkpoints, trying to prevent more people from joining the fighting.

By evening, Bassem Fakhr, spokesman for the Men of Dignity, one of the two largest Druze armed groups, told AFP there was “no Bedouin presence in the city.”

Syria’s Information Minister Hamza al-Mustafa on Saturday evening said that after the first phase of the ceasefire, which began on Saturday and involved the deployment of security forces to the province, a second phase would see the opening of humanitarian corridors.

Raed al-Saleh, Syria’s minister for emergencies and disaster management, told state television that “the humanitarian situation is bad” and that convoys were waiting to enter Sweida when “the appropriate conditions” present themselves.

According to the United Nations, the fighting has displaced least 87,000 people.

Two Lebanese killed in separate Israeli airstrikes on South Lebanon
[HODHODYEMENNEWS.NET] Two Lebanese non-combatants were killed in two Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...

...home of the original Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade....
, according to Al Mayadeen.

One was killed in an airstrike on the southern town of Yohmor-Shaqif. In detail, an Israeli drone targeted a cycle of violence in the said region, killing its driver.

Earlier in the day, Al Mayadeen's correspondent in the south reported that a Lebanese citizen was killed after an Israeli dronezap targeted him while he was doing plumbing work on the rooftop of his house in the town of Khiam, South Lebanon.

The strikes are part of the broader pattern of Israeli aggression on South Lebanon, which has only intensified in recent months.

Khiam and Yohmor are not the only southern towns targeted on Saturday. In Ayta al-Shaab, an Israeli drone dropped a stun grenade near the municipal building.

Additionally, another Israeli drone dropped a bomb on the eastern neighborhood of the border town of al-Dhayrah, in the Tyre district. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in these incidents.

Since the November 27, 2024, ceasefire, Israeli attacks have killed over 200 people in Lebanon, and ''Israel'' has also violated the ceasefire over 3,800 times.

The occupation also continues to occupy five strategic border positions in southern Lebanon in clear violation of the existing ceasefire agreement.
The Times of Israel adds:
IDF accuses the operatives, including member of elite Radwan force, of working to restore the Lebanese terror group’s capabilities in area

Israel killed two Hezbollah members on Saturday in separate dronezaps in southern Leb
...The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozen flavors of Christians, plus Armenians, Georgians, and who knows what else?...
, the Israel Defense Forces announced, saying that the terror group’s operatives were violating agreements between Jerusalem and Beirut.

The first operative killed was a member of Hezbollah’s elite Radwan force. The IDF said he was killed in a dronezap in Khiam while attempting to restore Hezbollah’s capabilities in the area, adding that his activities "constituted a blatant violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon."

Later Saturday, a dronezap in Yohmor killed Ahmad Mohammad Salah, who the military said was responsible for Hezbollah’s forces in the town. The IDF said Salah was also involved in the efforts to reestablish Hezbollah’s capabilities.

Since a ceasefire agreement came into effect in November, Israel has maintained a presence at five strategic points in Lebanon and occasionally struck Hezbollah targets it said were violating the conditions of the ceasefire.

Lebanese state media reported on Tuesday that Israeli Arclight airstrike

s killed 12 people, seven of whom were Syrian, in Lebanon’s northeastern Beqaa Valley.

The strikes were aimed at military facilities belonging to the Radwan force, where operatives and weapon depots had been detected, the IDF said.

According to Israel, the Radwan force had in recent years planned to carry out a large-scale invasion of northern Israel, but was forced to shelve the scheme after Hamas

...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with a rusty iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
on October 7, 2023, plunging the region into war. A day after the attack, Hezbollah began firing rockets, drones, and anti-tank missiles at northern Israeli communities, carrying out attacks on a near-daily basis in solidarity with Hamas. The rocket fire displaced some 60,000 residents of northern Israel. In a bid to ensure their safe return, Israel stepped up operations in Lebanon in September, leading to two months of open warfare with Hezbollah in which the terror group’s leadership and arsenal were decimated.

The ceasefire agreement allows Israel to strike imminent threats, though Jerusalem is required to bring less urgent concerns to an international committee.

Hezbollah is currently under pressure from Lebanon’s Western-backed government to disarm as part of an arrangement that could reportedly see Israel halt attacks and pull its troops south of the border.

Syrian President Declares Ceasefire Hudna in South of Country
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] On July 19, Syrian transitional president Ahmed al-Sharaa announced a comprehensive ceasefire in the province of As-Suwayda, where clashes had previously occurred between Bedouin tribes and the Druze mountain self-defense forces. This was reported by the SANA agency.

“In light of the special circumstances that the country is currently experiencing, <…> the leadership of the Syrian Arab Republic announces an immediate comprehensive ceasefire,” the presidential administration said in a statement.

Such measures have been taken in order to put an end to the bloodshed, preserve the unity of Syrian territory and the security of its population, the statement said.

The Syrian government called for an immediate end to hostilities in all areas, protection of civilians and unimpeded delivery of humanitarian aid. They noted that failure to comply with the ceasefire would be considered a violation of the country's sovereignty and would entail legal action.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, the escalation in the Syrian province of Suwayda (a stronghold of the ethno-confessional minority - the Syrian Druze) began on July 13. Bedouin tribes attacked Druze settlements. During the fighting, over 30 people were killed, more than 100 were wounded. The Syrian army provided support to the Bedouin tribes, as a result of attacks by the Druze, several dozen servicemen were killed.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz said they would not allow the Syrian government to harm the Druze. On July 16, the Israeli Air Force struck Syrian military targets in the Daraa and As-Suwayda areas, and also bombed Damascus. One of the strikes, on the Syrian army general headquarters, was broadcast live on local television.
