Somali Forces, Backed by Local Militias, Kill Over 15 Al-Shabaab Fighters in Operation
[Garowe] More than 15 al-Shabaab
... Somalia's version of the Taliban, functioning as an arm of al-Qaeda...
fighters bit the dust across the country following operations initiated by the Somali National Army (SNA) with critical support from allies, including the local militia, who have been instrumental throughout the push to liberate the country.

Main operations were carried out along Galgaduud, Lower Shabelle, Lower Juba, and Middle Shabelle, where al-Shabaab increase of activities has caused panic within and outside the government.

Abukar Macalin, the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Defence, said several big shots were among those killed in the crackdown, with one of them identified as Ibrahim Abdirahman Sanbuur, who was neutralised around Harboole in the Lower Jubba region.

"In the latest offensives, the national forces, in coordination with local fighters, inflicted significant casualties on the Khawarij," said Macalin, using a term commonly used by the government to refer to al-Shabaab.

"An operation in the Xiingaduud area—located between Amara and Qodqod—resulted in the deaths of 11 Khawarij bully boys. The operation was successfully executed as planned."

Many other fighters were killed in Mido and Harboole within Lower Jubba, with Sanbuur identified as a key coordinator who has worked with the group since 2010. His death was termed as a 'significant win for the government' in the ongoing war.

He welcomed the ongoing cooperation between Somali security forces and local communities, praising their shared efforts in dismantling al-Shabaab’s influence in parts of the country. The clan militias are responsible for several defeats inflicted on the bully boyz in central and southern regions, he added.

"These achievements reflect the strong partnership between our forces and the people. Together, they continue to weaken the Khawarij in every region they operate," he said.

DR Congo: CODECO militiamen reportedly killed at least 21 in attacks on Zaire armed group positions in Nizi and Lopa
[X]

CODECO is a loose association of ethno-religious Lendu militia groups in the DRC. The name is an abbreviation of Cooperative for Development of the Congo, or slightly less expansively the Congo Economic Development Cooperative. Started as an agricultural cooperative, it evolved into a rebel movement by the end of the 20th century. The religious side contains mystical elements of animism, Christianity, and worship of their founder, who died in 2020.

Caucasus/Russia/Central Asia
No casualties in armed terrorist attacks in the North Caucasus during the week from July 14 to 20
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[KavkazUzel] During the week from July 14 to July 20, 2025, no casualties were recorded in armed and terrorist attacks in the North Caucasus. Two people were injured. These are the results of the "Kavkaz-Uzel" calculations, based on its own materials and information from other open sources.

As the "Kavkaz-Uzel" wrote, from July 7 to July 13, 2025, no casualties were recorded in armed and terrorist attacks in the North Caucasus.

INJURIES IN THE SHOOTOUT
Two people were wounded in a shootout between Ingush religious figures. The incident occurred late in the evening on July 13. It was caused by a conflict on social networks. The two victims received several gunshot wounds and were hospitalized in the intensive care unit. Both 42-year-old wounded belong to the same Ingush teip
…clan…
of the Yevloyevs. One of them is the security guard of the imam of the mosque of the Nasyr-Korst district of Nazran, Khamzat Chumakov.

ARRESTS AND SENTENCES UNDER TERRORISM ARTICLES
On July 18, two 15-year-old residents of North Ossetia were taken into custody, accused of undergoing terrorist training and preparing an attack on security forces using an explosive device. According to the FSB, the teenagers were detained in Mozdok, and components for homemade explosives were found during a search.

On July 20, the FSB and the Investigative Committee published a video of the arrest of two teenagers. In the video recording made during the search, a security officer lists the items found in the house: "Gasoline, hydrogen peroxide, a coffee grinder... bolts, washers, wires...".

In another fragment, made in the courtyard of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for North Ossetia, the confiscated items are also laid out in front of him, but different ones: a wristwatch and several sets of different military uniforms with caps and shoes are visible there. One of the detainees answers the question of why he collected the confiscated items. "To make a bomb," the teenager says quietly, and the Investigative Committee officer repeats his words.

In the Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don, where the case of six Nalchik residents accused of creating a terrorist cell is being heard, the expert examination of the defendants' phones has been conducted. Kazbek Emkuzhev's phone is not among them, and the accused Aslan Makoyev has stated that the examined text of the correspondence has been falsified. Earlier, the lawyer called Emkuzhev's case fabricated.

Cruise ship carrying Israelis heads to Cyprus after anti-Israel protest prevents docking in Greece while anti-Israel mob on Rhodes attacked Israeli teens
[IsraelTimes] A cruise ship carrying hundreds of Israelis was reportedly unable to dock in Greece due to an anti-Israel protest and has continued instead to Cyprus.

According to Hebrew media reports citing passengers on board the ship, the cruise company, Mano Maritime, decided not to attempt to dock at the Greek island of Syros due to the large anti-Israel protest and will travel instead to Limassol, Cyprus.

There was no immediate confirmation from the cruise company. Earlier, Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar said he spoke with his Greek counterpart about the issue and requested intervention in the docking of the ship.
Hundreds of Israeli cruise passengers are stuck aboard their ship at the Greek island of Syros, due to a large anti-Israel and pro-Palestinian protest taking place at the docks, according to multiple reports in Hebrew media.

Passengers aboard the “Crown Iris” cruise ship, which is operated by Israeli shipping giant Mano Maritime, were set to disembark on the Aegean island for six hours, but due to the protest, they are not being allowed to exit the ship.

One Israeli passenger tells the Kan broadcaster that when one of the Israelis on the ship saw the protest, “we raised Israeli flags and some of us started singing.”

“Inside the ship, we feel safe, but the children are a little stressed,” says the unnamed passenger.

Channel 12 reports that the protest was organized by a group of the island’s residents, who posted on social media that they “raise their fists in solidarity with the Palestinians in Gaza.”

“It is unacceptable that tourists from Israel continue to be welcomed here while the Palestinians are suffering in the Strip,” they said.

Israeli teens say anti-Israel mob attacked them on Rhodes

[IsraelTimes] A group of Israeli teens were attacked by anti-Israel assailants on the Greek island of Rhodes last night, Hebrew media reports.

According to reports, an anti-Israel mob rallied outside a club frequented by Israelis, sparking a confrontation, where Israelis and pro-Palestinians were shouting and cursing at each other.

The group of teens, aged 17-18, decided to leave and not get involved in the tussle, but were then pursued by dozens of the anti-Israel demonstrators, one of the Israelis tells Channel 12 news.

According to Channel 12, a member of the group convinced the mob he wasn’t Israeli by speaking Dutch, while the others sprinted away. One of them was caught and beaten, suffering light injuries, while the other two managed to hide.

“We called the embassy and the police, who said that there was a car on the way, but nobody came. They only arrived after a long time, and they came with us to the apartment,” one of the teens tell Channel 12.

The incident came on the same day as anti-Israel, pro-Palestinian protesters blocked tourists on an Israeli-owned cruise ship from disembarking at the Greek island of Syros.
Update from the Times of Israel at 10:00 a.m. EDT:
The teens told Hebrew media they were at the island’s Hakuna Matata club, frequented by Israeli tourists, around 3 a.m., when anti-Israel demonstrators started rallying outside, sparking a confrontation, with the two sides shouting and cursing at each other.

“There was commotion and shouting, and we said we didn’t want to get involved and we should go back to the apartment we’d rented,” one of the teens, Shachar Gutman, recalled to the Ynet news site.

The teen said that as he and his friends were leaving the club, they happened upon some more of the pro-Palestinian demonstrators, “and one of them came up to us and asked if we were Israeli.”

“He called out to all his friends — some 30 to 40 people — and they started to chase us. We also started to run, and we didn’t think it was anything serious,” he recalled.

“At one point there was a curve in the road and we didn’t see them for a second — but then we heard motorcycles coming fast in our direction, and we realized there was nowhere to run.”

Friedman told Ynet the assailants were armed with knives, and added: “I jumped up over a wall that I saw and hid there, and another friend saw steps and hid there. Another one hid behind a bush and another one behind a van. They came and kicked the one who was behind the van, and he begged for his life, that they wouldn’t do anything to him. They photographed him and let him go.”

“I’ve never been so afraid in my life. We just wanted to go to a club to have fun, and suddenly people with knives were chasing us. We were afraid it would end in a really bad way,” he said.

Greece is a popular tourist destination for Israelis, and an estimated 621,000 visited the Hellenic Republic in 2024.

The country has seen a rise in antisemitic and anti-Israel incidents since the October 7, 2023, Hamas-led onslaught in southern Israel that started the war in Gaza.

Athens in particular has seen several attacks on Israeli tourists.

Fifth Column
Mahmoud Khalil has just been DETAINED by ICE as he was in the midst of media appearances today
[X]

He was definitely making the rounds before his arrest:
Mahmoud Khalil Repeatedly Refused to Condemn Hamas on CNN
Helping the DoJ make their case against him.
[Mediaite] Mahmoud Khalil,
…30, the Damascus-born Palestinian (with dual Algerian citizenship through his mother, whose family were revolutionaries back home) got a Masters in Paleo Protest from Columbia, applying his training as Apartheid Divest’s frontman supporting Hamas since 10/8/2023, which overlapped his unadmitted work as an UNWRA political affairs officer — that last supporting the government’s accusation of immigration fraud, while the pro-Hamas activism is accounted as supporting a listed terror organization. He is represented by 19 activist attorneys, including the ACLU. The case is now wending its way up to the US Supreme Court. Mr. Khalil worked his way through college in Beirut as an MI-6 vetted local staffer at the British embassy, which is how he met his future wife — hijabi Leb-American dentist Noor Abdalla, suggesting either Muslim Brotherhood or Hezbollah connections. No doubt it was for her sake he went to Columbia instead of Oxford…
the Columbia University graduate student controversially detained by ICE earlier this year before he was released on the order of a federal judge, repeatedly refused to condemn Hamas during an interview with CNN’s Wolf Blitzer and Pamela Brown on Tuesday.

After blaming his battles with the Trump administration over his legal status in the country on the “weaponization of anti-Semitism,” Brown asked: “Do you specifically condemn Hamas, a designated terrorist organization in the United States, not just for their actions on October 7?”

“I condemn the killing of all Pal-, of all civilians, full stop,” replied Khalil. “And, but what I don’t want to get into is-”

“But do you condemn Hamas, specifically?” repeated Brown.

“No, I am very clear with condemning all civilians. I’m very straight in my position in that part. But it’s disingenuous to ask about condemning Hamas while Palestinians are the ones being starved now by Israel. It’s not condemning October 6, where 260 Palestinians were killed by Israel before October 7. So I hate this selective outrage of condemnation because this is not, this wouldn’t lead to a constructive conversation. And this is also, like what we want to deal with is the root causes of why that happened. And it’s no way anyone can justify the killing of civilians,” answered Khalil.

The anchor and activist continued:

BROWN: Just to be clear, Mahmoud, we did ask about-, you know we’ve talked at length about your views, of course, on the Palestinians. But it is fair to ask you about whether you condemn Hamas because the Trump administration has claimed that you are a Hamas sympathizer. So it’s very important to actually ask that question in this broad conversation.

KHALIL: Yeah, I simply asked and protested the war in Palestine. That’s what I did. That’s my duty as a Palestinian, as a human being right now, is to ask for the stop of the killing in my home country. And that’s consistent with who I am. I’m a firm believer in international law and human rights. And all my values come from that point. It’s just like, to me, it’s always, as I said, disingenuous and absurd to ask such questions when literally 62,000 Palestinians have been killed by Israel. That’s why I wouldn’t really engage much into such questions on condemnation or not. Because selective condemnations is not, wouldn’t get us anywhere. It’s just like hypocrite, to be honest.
The New York Post adds:
Khalil was arrested by federal immigration authorities on March 8 and spent 104 days at a Louisiana detention center as the Trump administration fought to deport the Syrian-born permanent resident.

The administration said Khalil engaged in activities “aligned to Hamas.”

Khalil, who is now suing the federal government for $20 million over what he claims was false imprisonment and a smear campaign to label him as an antisemite, drew fresh backlash after the interview – with the Department of Homeland Security blasting him as a “terrorist sympathizer.”

“Mahmoud Khalil refused to condemn Hamas because he IS a terrorist sympathizer not because DHS ‘painted’ him as one,” DHS wrote in a fiery post on X, arguing that the green card holder “branded” himself as an antisemite “through his own hateful behavior and rhetoric.”

“The Trump Administration acted well within its statutory and constitutional authority to detain Khalil, as it does with any alien who advocates for violence, glorifies and supports terrorists, harasses Jews, and damages property.”

Iraq
Two 'dangerous terrorists' arrested in Sulaimani
[Rudaw] Iraqi and Kurdish forces on Monday announced the arrest of two "dangerous terrorists" in Sulaimani province during a joint operation.

Sulaimani-based Counter-Terrorism Group (CTG) and the Directorate General of Intelligence and Security (DGIS), which is affiliated with the federal defence ministry, carried out the joint operation, according to separate statements from both forces.

"Arrest warrants had been issued against them according to the provisions of Article (4) of the Counter-Terrorism Law. Legal procedures were taken against them, and they were referred to the competent investigative authorities," the DGIS said.

The identities and nationalities of the suspects were not revealed, and it remains unclear which group they are affiliated with.

Sulaimani-based security forces and Iraq’s Counter-Terrorism Service (ICTS) said late last month that they killed three "terrorists," including a senior commander, during a joint operation in Kirkuk province.

Federal and Kurdish security forces, especially those based in Sulaimani, often carry out joint operations against terrorists. They have recently increased joint efforts to close security gaps between their territories, which have been exploited by krazed killer groups, including Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....

Palestinian reports: PA security forces busted Nablus terror cell, seized explosive devices
[IsraelTimes] Palestinian media outlets affiliated with Hamas report that the Palestinian Authority’s Preventive Security Force arrested a terror cell in the West Bank city of Nablus overnight.

According to the reports, the cell was found in possession of dozens of explosive devices intended for use against Israeli forces.

There has been no official confirmation of the arrests from either Israeli or PA security services.

Palestinian journalist union says three Gaza-based reporters attacked by Hamas operatives
[IsraelTimes] The Palestinian Journalists Syndicate, a non-governmental body affiliated with the Palestinian Authority, condemns an incident in which three Gaza-based journalists were attacked by operatives from Hamas’s “Sahm” unit — which is responsible for enforcing law and order in the Gaza Strip, and the Hamas police investigations department.

According to the statement, the journalists — Khaled Shaat, who works for the Shaat News Agency and Jordan’s Al-Hayat Radio; Mohammed Salama, a photographer for Al Jazeera; and Abdullah Al-Attar, a correspondent for Turkey’s Anadolu Agency — were assaulted by Hamas operatives at Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis while on duty.

“Assaulting journalists and preventing them from carrying out their duties is reprehensible and unacceptable behavior,” the organization says.

“The syndicate also emphasizes the necessity of facilitating the sacred mission undertaken by journalists to convey the truth and defend their people’s cause, particularly in light of the repeated targeting they face from the Israeli occupation,” the statement adds, calling for an “urgent and transparent investigation into the incident” and for the perpetrators of the attack to be held to account.

The statement is accompanied by an image of one of the journalists sporting visible injuries to his arm.

IDF reservist soldier killed in Gaza fighting; 18 Palestinians said killed in strikes
[IsraelTimes] IDF says troops briefly detained WHO staff members in Deir al-Balah after coming under fire from near their location; Hamas says 20 people died of starvation in 48 hours

An IDF reservist soldier was killed during fighting in the southern Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with a rusty iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
Strip Monday, the military announced Tuesday, the second death within hours as the army presses ahead with a new offensive in the coastal territory.

The announcement came as local media reported that 18 people were killed in Israeli strikes on Gaza and terror group Hamas
..a regional Iranian catspaw,...
said that nearly 20 people died of starvation over the previous two days. Neither of the figures could be immediately verified.

The slain soldier was named as Sgt. Maj. (res.) Vladimir Loza, 36, of the 5th Brigade’s 7020th Battalion, from Ashkelon. According to a preliminary IDF probe, Loza was killed when a blast caused a building to collapse during operations in the Rafah area. The military suspects the blast was caused by an bomb planted by Gazook fighters.

Loza’s death raised to 456 the toll of Israeli forces killed fighting inside Gaza since the war started with the devastating October 7, 2023, Hamas attack on southern Israel. Another soldier, Staff Sgt. Amit Cohen, 19, of the Golani Brigade’s 13th Battalion, also died Monday in Gaza.

According to reports in Paleostinian media, 16 people were killed in an Israeli Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
Tuesday morning in the Shati refugee camp in western Gaza City.

Two additional fatalities and several injuries were also reported in a separate strike in Deir al-Balah, in the central Gaza Strip, as the military expanded ground operations to the city.

Most of Gaza’s population has been displaced at least once during 21 months of conflict, and the al-Shati camp, on the Mediterranean coast, hosts thousands of people displaced from the north in tents and makeshift shelters.

Raed Bakr, 30, lives in the camp with his three children and said he heard "a massive explosion" at about 1:40 am on Tuesday, which blew their tent away. With private cars off the road due to fuel shortages, neighbors carried some of the maimed on foot. "There were no vehicles or even donkey carts," he said.

Muhannad Thabet, 33, who also lives at the al-Shati camp, called it "a night of terror" due to "non-stop air strikes and explosions." He said he carried a six-year-old child to get treatment and said the nearby Shifa hospital — once one of Gaza’s largest — was overwhelmed with maimed people.

AFP footage from central Gaza showed a large plume of smoke rising over Deir el-Balah on Tuesday while a surveillance drone was heard buzzing overhead.

The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) estimated that between 50,000 and 80,000 people were living in the Deir el-Balah area, which until now had been considered relatively safe.

Some 30,000 were living in displacement sites.

OCHA said nearly 88 percent of the entire Gaza Strip was now either under evacuation orders or within Israeli militarized zones, forcing the population of 2.4 million into an ever-shrinking space.

Additionally, the director of Gaza’s Hamas-run health ministry told Al Jazeera that 20 people have died from starvation in the past 48 hours. The figure could not be independently verified, and Israel accuses Hamas of inflating casualty numbers. There was no immediate comment from the IDF.

Reports of the latest corpse count came as the Roman Catholic church’s most senior holy man in the Holy Land said the humanitarian situation in Gaza was "morally unacceptable."

"We have seen men holding out in the sun for hours in the hope of a simple meal," Latin Patriarch Pierbattista Pizzaballa told a news conference in Jerusalem after visiting Gaza.
I commend to the good prelate a thorough review of St. Augustine of Hippo’s writings on the Just War in The City of God. It cannot be, after all, that his strictures apply only to Christians, but not to the sole Jewish nation. The good saint asserted that peacefulness in the face of a grave wrong that could be stopped only by violence is a sin. Defense of oneself or others could be a necessity, especially when it is authorized by a legitimate authority. Failing that, please be so good as to find something long and rusty to rotate upon.
His visit came after an Israeli army strike on the only Catholic church in Gaza killed three people last week,
…and slightly damaged the church steeple…
prompting Pope Leo XIV to condemn the “barbarity” of the war and the blind “use of force.”
The same to you, your popeness. Clearly you are not speaking ex cathedra.
WHO BUILDING CLASH
The military issued a statement responding to reports that troops entered a building housing World Health Organization personnel in central Gaza’s Deir al-Balah a day earlier and detained several staff, as well as damaged the facility in strikes.

On Sunday, the IDF had issued an evacuation warning for several zones in Deir al-Balah, ahead of a new ground offensive in the area. The military said that before operations began, it warned the civilian population to evacuate “and was in contact with the international organizations working in the area.”

“We emphasize that the IDF maintains continuous and consistent contact with the international organizations, and throughout the war, the IDF has facilitated the safe evacuations of their personnel from evacuated areas, in coordination with the troops and in accordance with operational requirements,” the statement continued.

The coordination efforts are to “facilitate the relocation of critical facilities to alternate locations based on the needs of the organizations,” the IDF said.

According to the military, the incident at the WHO facility on Monday began after troops identified shooting toward them in Deir al-Balah and returned fire. The IDF said that as part of the offensive, troops detained “several individuals suspected of involvement in terror.”

“After questioning on the ground, the majority were released and evacuated from the area in coordination with the international organizations,” the IDF said, adding that “the suspects are treated in accordance with international law.”

WHO, in a statement, said that the “Israeli military entered the premises, forcing women and children to evacuate on foot toward al-Mawasi amid active conflict.
Because they did not move out earlier when warned, when it would have been completely safe. Whose fault is it, then, that they had to retreat through fire?
Male staff and family members were handcuffed, stripped, interrogated on the spot, and screened at gunpoint. Two WHO staff and two family members were detained. Three were later released, while one staff member remains in detention.”

The IDF responded to the claims, saying that “at times during field questioning, it is necessary for individuals suspected of terrorist activity to temporarily remove parts of their clothing in order to ensure that they are not concealing explosive belts or other weapons.”

“The IDF will not refrain from operating in areas where terrorist activity threatens the security of the State of Israel,” the military added.

A military source said that the IDF is aware that damage was caused to the WHO residence facility, but stressed that it is unaware of any injuries among the staff. WHO also claimed that its main warehouse in the area was damaged. The IDF has not commented on those claims.

IDF says dozens of terror targets hit in Gaza over past day; multiple casualties reported in Strip
[IsraelTimes] The Israeli Air Force struck dozens of terror targets in the Gaza Strip over the past day, including operatives, booby-trapped buildings, anti-tank launch posts, tunnels, and other infrastructure, the military says in a daily update.

Dozens of casualties were reported by media outlets in Gaza in the past day, but there are no immediate tolls from the Hamas-run health ministry or other health officials. Yesterday, the Hamas health ministry reported that 134 people had been killed in the previous 24 hours.

The strikes come as five divisions continue ground operations across the Strip.

3 soldiers wounded during operations in Rafah, says military
[IsraelTimes] Two combat engineers, including a platoon commander, were seriously wounded and another soldier was moderately hurt by an explosive device during operations in southern Gaza’s Rafah earlier today, the IDF announces. The troops, who served with the Gaza Division’s Southern Brigade, were taken to hospitals and the families were notified, the army adds.

Northern Israel man indicted on terror charges for posts supporting ISIS and Hamas, possessing several guns
[IsraelTimes] State prosecutors indict a 65-year-old resident of Tuba-Zangariyye today on terror charges, accusing him of incitement over his alleged social media posts supporting several terrorist groups.

The defendant was arrested June 29 after police received a report about his Facebook posts, in which he allegedly published content in support of Hamas, ISIS and al-Qaeda, says law enforcement.

Police raided the man’s home to find an ISIS flag in his room, alongside several guns with magazines, machetes and walkie-talkies.

The suspect quoted Hamas spokesman Abu Obeida directly, police say, in one Facebook post which read: “The Islamic nation will not rise, and will have no standing among the nations until this holy land is cleansed of the occupiers’ impurity.”

He is indicted at the Kiryat Shmona Magistrate’s Court on charges of incitement to terrorism, identification with a terrorist organization and possession of illegal weapons.

IDF arrests suspected weapons dealers in southern Syria, says military
[IsraelTimes] IDF troops detained several weapons dealers during an overnight raid in southern Syria, the military says.

Troops of the 210th “Bashan” Regional Division and members of the Military Intelligence Directorate’s Unit 504 arrested and questioned the suspected dealers, “following intelligence indications regarding several suspects who had transferred various types of weaponry,” the IDF says.

The military says troops also seized several weapons in the area.

The IDF has been deployed to nine posts inside southern Syria since the fall of the Assad regime in December, mostly within a UN-patrolled buffer zone on the border between the countries.

Troops have been operating in areas up to around 15 kilometers deep into Syria, aiming to capture weapons that Israel says could pose a threat to the country if they fall into the hands of “hostile forces.”
