Sudan parallel authority names former official as prime minister

ese gangs on Saturday appointed Mohammed Hassan al-Taishi, a former civilian member of the country's post-revolution Sovereign Council, as prime minister of a new parallel administration.

The appointment is part of a broader move by the Tasis (Founding) Alliance to establish a government in territories controlled by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and the Sudan People's Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N).

Two other prominent figures from the pre-war transitional government, Hadi Idris and al-Tahir Hajar, were also named to the new 15-member presidential council. Both men, like al-Ta'ishi, were part of the original Sovereign Council but were later dismissed from their posts after the conflict began.

In a video statement released on social media, alliance front man Alaa al-Din Naqd detailed a slate of appointments for regional governors, including for Darfur, Khartoum, the Nuba Mountains, and the Eastern region.

The presidential council itself is headed by RSF commander Mohammed Hamdan ''Hemetti,'' with SPLM-N leader Abdelaziz al-Hilu serving as his deputy.

The formation of the parallel government has been met with international opposition, with the United Nations

Sudanese army drone strikes hit RSF in North Darfur, RSF artillery hits capitol El Fasher where 31 innocents toes up, more executed
[SUDANTRIBUNE] The Sudan
...a Moslem country located in the Horn of Africa. It is noted for its affinity for rule by ex- or current generals, its holy men, and for the oppression of the native Afro population by its Arab conquerors. South Sudan, populated mostly by the natives, split off from Sudan proper, which left North and South Darfur to be oppressed by the guys with turbans...
ese army on Friday launched dronezaps against Rapid Support Forces (RSF) positions across North Darfur. In return, the RSF shelled a displacement camp near El Fasher, killing at least three civilians and injuring seven others, activists said.

The army's dronezaps targeted RSF gatherings in several locations, including Melit (65 km north of El Fasher), al-Kuma (75 km east), and the areas of Kafut and al-Mona, local sources told the Sudan Tribune. Both Melit and al-Kuma are strategic towns currently under the control of the RSF.

In the wake of the air raids, the RSF responded with heavy artillery fire on the Abu Shouk camp for internally displaced persons (IDPs) on the northern outskirts of El Fasher.

El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur, remains the only capital in the vast Darfur region not under the control of the RSF. The paramilitary group has besieged the city since May 2024, after seizing the other four state capitals, making it a flashpoint in the ongoing conflict.

Shelling kills at least 31 in Sudan's El Fasher, activists and doctors say
[SUDANTRIBUNE] At least 31 non-combatants were killed and dozens were maimed in heavy shelling by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on the capital of North Darfur state, El Fasher, and a nearby displacement camp on Saturday, activists and medics said.

The attack is the most intense bombardment in days on the North Darfur capital, the last army stronghold in the vast western region, where fighting has escalated since Monday.

The Sudan
Doctors Network, an activist group, said in a statement that 31 people were killed, including seven children and a pregnant woman, when artillery fire hit the Abu Shouk camp for displaced people.

Eyewitnesses told Sudan Tribune that 11 of the dead were worshippers killed inside a mosque in the camp.

El Fasher has been under a de facto siege by the RSF since April 2024, severely restricting the flow of food and life-saving medicine, according to residents and aid groups.

RSF accused of summary executions in El Fasher as violence surges
[SUDANTRIBUNE] Sudan
's Rapid Support Forces (RSF) were accused on Sunday of carrying out summary executions of civilians in the besieged North Darfur city of El Fasher, with videos circulating online that appeared to show the killings.

The accusations come as the RSF intensifies shelling and ground assaults in an attempt to capture El Fasher, the Sudanese army's last stronghold in the vast Darfur region.

Local sources told Sudan Tribune that RSF fighters rubbed out 12 unarmed young men in the Shaqra area, about 13 km (8 miles) west of the city, claiming they were smuggling goods.

A separate artillery attack by the RSF on Saturday killed at least 30 people in El Fasher's neighbourhoods and the sprawling Abu Shouk camp for displaced people, according to a statement from the El Fasher Resistance® Committees. The committees also accused RSF fighters of infiltrating the camp, executing residents, and taking others to unknown locations.

commander identified as Hussein Macalin Hassan, also known within the Death Eater group’s ranks by the alias "Magaalabeen."

The offensive is part of an intensified military campaign jointly executed by Somali federal forces and regional Daraawiish troops from South West State (Koonfur Galbeed), targeting al-Shabaab strongholds across the Baay and Bakool regions.

Security officials report that over the past two weeks, multiple operations have been launched across the two regions. In a separate development, four al-Shabaab members surrendered to government forces in the town of Naydhabo, the administrative capital of Baay region.

at Israel on Sunday afternoon was intercepted by air defenses, the Israel Defense Forces said.

The missile, which was detected shortly before 4:30 p.m., set off sirens in central Israel and the Jerusalem area, forcing hundreds of thousands of Israelis to seek cover amid widespread protests across the country for the return of the hostages held by Hamas
..the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood,...
There were no reports of impacts or injuries.

The attack came hours after the Israeli Navy launched strikes against a power plant south of Sanaa, the Houthi-controlled capital of Yemen, on Sunday morning.

The Israel Defense Forces, in a statement, said the strike hit "energy infrastructure used by the Houthi terror regime" near Sanaa, in response to "repeated attacks by the Houthi terror regime against the State of Israel and its citizens, including the launching of surface-to-surface missiles and UAVs toward Israeli territory."

Local media reported large explosions in the area that knocked generators out of service.

The Houthi-run Al Masirah TV blamed the earth-shattering kaboom on "aggression," without identifying the source. Teams were working to put out a fire caused by the incident, Al Masirah added, citing a source in civil defense.

An Israeli defense official confirmed the strike was carried out by Navy missile boats. It was only the second time that the Navy has struck in Yemen, the first being an attack on the Houthi-controlled Hodeida port in June.

After the missile fire on Sunday afternoon, Defense Minister Israel Katz threatened that the Houthis would "pay dearly" for their attacks.

"We are imposing an aerial and naval blockade that hurts them greatly, and this morning, we struck infrastructure and energy targets. This is only the beginning," he said in a statement issued by his office.

"What follows will be strong and painful. Whoever raises a hand against Israel, his hand will be cut off," Katz added.

The navy strike on Sunday morning was the 14th time that Israel has attacked the Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen, located some 1,800 kilometers (1,100 miles) away.

Most of the strikes have been carried out by Israeli Air Force fighter jets; the last strike on the Houthis, in July, was carried out by an IAF drone, for the first time.

Since then, the Houthis have launched eight ballistic missiles and at least seven drones at Israel, attacks that caused no damage or injuries.

Houthis claim missile attack on Israel, and to have targeted Ben Gurion airport
[IsraelTimes] The Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen take responsibility for this afternoon’s ballistic missile attack on Israel, claiming to have targeted Ben Gurion Airport.

The IDF said earlier that the missile was intercepted by air defenses. There were no reports of injuries in the attack.

A defendant in the Crocus case received 500,000 rubles for making weapons
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] The defendant in the case of the terrorist attack in the Crocus City Hall concert hall, Khusen Medov (included in the list of terrorists and extremists in the Russian Federation), who made the assault rifles, received about 500 thousand rubles for the weapons. This follows from the materials of the criminal case.

A gunsmith from Ingushetia purchased three blank-firing Kalashnikov assault rifles online and bought another one at a hunting store in Malgobek. In January 2024, Khavazh-Bagaudin Aliyev (listed as a terrorist and extremist in the Russian Federation) approached him with a request to help convert these weapons into combat weapons, stating that the assault rifles were planned to be used in criminal conflicts at the Sadovod market in Moscow.

During interrogation, Medov described in detail how he was trained to convert blank-firing weapons into combat weapons, as well as the process of making machine guns. To test their functionality, he fired several shots in the yard of his house, after which he stored the weapons in the attic.

“For the weapons sold, about 500 thousand rubles were transferred to his mother’s card, which she didn’t know about, which he cashed and after some time transferred to Aliyev,” TASS quoted the gunsmith as saying.

Their accomplices transported these weapons to Dagestan through hiding places, and later the accomplices of the terrorist attack delivered them to Moscow.

Greece intercepts massive khat shipment transiting from Israel
Ugh. Criminal masterminds in Israel trying to be clever. Khat is primarily grown for export in the East African highlands of Ethiopia and Kenya, and in the Sanaa area of Yemen, and is consumed mostly beyond the region by emigrants. In much of the world it is illegal, but it is legal for personal use in Israel, accommodating the cultural peculiarities of Yemenite Jews and the Bene Israel Jews of Ethiopia and Sudan, who apparently mainly grow it for the purpose as a garden plant. Organized crime in Israel developed the practice of paying Israelis take suitcases of the stuff to Europe— someone must have been getting ambitious.
[IsraelTimes] Bust at Athens International Airport valued at €1.5 million is biggest Greek seizure of smuggled khat leaf since 2014

Greece has made a record seizure of khat, confiscating half a ton of the illegal plant-based drug, Athens airport said on Sunday.

The drug is made from the leaves of the khat plant, native to the Horn of Africa and the Arabian Peninsula.

When chewed, khat releases chemicals similar to amphetamines, resulting in a mild high.

said the seizure’s size made it the largest haul ever confiscated in the country, with a value estimated at €1,500,000 ($1,750,000).

According to the Athens News Agency, the illegal substance was hidden in four shipping containers declared to be holding curtains, sheets and fabrics, transiting from Israel and bound for the United States.

Greece’s previous record seizure was also confiscated at Athens International Airport on December 4, 2014.

Hundreds of thousands gather in Tel Aviv to mark end of nationwide day of hostage protests
[IsraelTimes] Hostages forum says 500,000 attended rally, over 1 million protested across the country Sunday; at rally, ex-captives urge Trump to push Israel to ‘end the suffering,’ ‘make peace’

Hundreds of thousands of people crowded in central Tel Aviv on Sunday night, capping a nationwide day of protests and strikes calling on the government to end the war in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. and secure the release of the hostages held there by Paleostinian terrorists.

The rally in Tel Aviv appeared to be one of the biggest since the war began nearly two years ago, and according to the Hostages and Missing Families Forum was attended by over half a million people, though there were no official police estimates for the crowd’s size.

The forum also estimated that some 1 million people had taken part in protests across the country throughout the day, as protest groups and organizations joined forces to stage a major day of civil disobedience after the cabinet voted earlier this month to conquer Gaza City despite warnings by top security officials that this would endanger the hostages.

Other major protests took place in Jerusalem, Haifa, Beersheba and several smaller cities, with demonstrators blocking roads and highways, demanding that an end to the war be reached.

Before Sunday night’s massive rally began, at least 38 people had been arrested across the country as activists blocked streets and in some cases clashed with officers who had been trying to reopen them, according to police.

And after the rally, police said six more had been arrested after hundreds "disrupted public order," clashed with cops and blocked the city’s Ayalon Highway. That road and all other roads were reopened to traffic, police added.

The day of protests came alongside a major strike, which was joined by hundreds of local authorities, businesses, universities, tech companies and other organizations, though Israel’s central labor union, the Histadrut, did not join the effort.

At the rally, the family of hostage Matan Zangauker played a video they released earlier in the day showing him in Hamas
..not a terrorist organization, even though it kidnaps people, holds hostages, and tries to negotiate by executing them,...
captivity.

The video of Zangauker is only a few seconds long, in which he asks his mother to "keep making noise" and that he "hopes to see [her] soon."

The video, which was obtained by the IDF during operations in Gaza, was said to be from several months ago, with some reports even suggesting the video was from the beginning of the war.

Following the screening, Matan’s mother, Einav Zangauker, addressed the crowd: "My Matan, my hero, I’m so proud of you, how you have stayed strong for 681 days. Continue to stay strong."

HEATED ENCOUNTERS ON THE ROADS
After the speeches, hundreds of people marched to the nearby Likud party headquarters, where they lit a bonfire and clashed with police.

Police stopped the demonstrators from reaching the entrance of the Metzudat Ze’ev building, and videos posted to social media showed officers jostling violent mostly peacefully with demonstrators who were banging drums and chanting slogans against the government.

Throughout Sunday, as protesters blocked main roads, highways and intersections in almost every city in the country, several incidents were recorded in which drivers confronted or even attacked demonstrators for standing in their way.

One such incident was recorded in central Israel’s Hod Hasharon, where a truck driver stormed out of his vehicle, wielding a metal rod, and tried to punch several protesters who were standing in the intersection.

SOME FAMILIES OF HOSTAGES OPPOSE THE PROTESTS
While most of the families of the hostages support the protest movement, several do not, believing it to be playing into the hands of Hamas and increasing their demands, as Netanyahu and other right-wing figures asserted Sunday.

Standing starkly against the main Hostage Families Forum is the Tikva Forum, a more hawkish group that represents a cadre of hostage families and relatives of fallen soldiers who are opposed to protests against the government and favor military pressure to bring their relatives home over negotiations.

Nadav Miran, the brother of the hostage Omri Miran, said that he opposed Sunday’s strikes and protests because they "strengthen Hamas," arguing that the terror group sees the major public uproar against the Israeli government, which leads them to harden their positions.

Also speaking against the strikes, Ditza Or, mother of hostage Avinatan Or, said that "the goal of the strike is to stop the war, not to return the hostages," and that the plight of the hostages is only used to "manipulate" Israelis into taking to the streets to demand an end to the war.

Zamir says IDF approving plans for war’s next stage ahead of Gaza City offensive

[IsraelTimes] ‘We will continue to strike until Hamas is defeated,’ says IDF chief during visit to Gaza; Hamas: Relocation of Gaza City residents is ‘new wave of genocide’

During a visit to the Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. Strip on Sunday morning, IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir said the military will approve "the plan for the next stage of the war" later in the day, as Israel gears up to expand its ongoing offensive against Hamas
..a regional Iranian catspaw,...
by conquering Gaza City.

His comments came after the security cabinet voted earlier this month to approve a military offensive in the northern Gaza Strip with the aim of defeating and capturing what Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has called "the last Hamas stronghold," which is the Paleostinian enclave’s largest city.

The plans, based on a general outline green-lit by Zamir last week, were discussed at the Southern Command Saturday night.

In remarks published by the IDF, Zamir said: "Today we are approving the plan for the next stage of the war."

"We will maintain the momentum of Operation Gideon’s Chariots while focusing on Gaza City," he said, referring to a military offensive against Hamas that was launched in May.

"We will continue to strike until Hamas is defeated, with our eyes on the hostages. We will act with a sophisticated, measured, and responsible strategy. The IDF will employ all its capabilities on land, in the air, and at sea in order to strike Hamas with force," Zamir said.

The IDF chief said, "Soon we will move on to the next stage of Operation Gideon’s Chariots, in which we will continue to deepen the harm to Hamas in Gaza City until its defeat."

"Operation Gideon’s Chariots has met its objectives," Zamir said, adding that "Hamas no longer possesses the same capabilities it had before the operation; we have dealt it a severe blow."

Zamir said the offensive against the terror group is not "localized," but rather part of a "long-term and planned program, with a multifront vision to strike all components of the axis, first and foremost Iran."

The plans to expand offensive operations in Gaza comes following 22 months of war that have created dire humanitarian conditions in the enclave, and raised international alarm over the fate of the war-torn Strip, which is home to about 2.2 million people. It has also drawn sharp backlash in Israel, where relatives of hostages kidnapped by Hamas were holding a nationwide strike Sunday in protest of the plan. They are calling for an end to the war through a negotiated hostage release deal.

As part of the plan to conquer Gaza City, the military is gearing up to "relocate" the city’s residents, which some estimates put at over one million, to refugee areas in southern Gaza.

Ahead of the plan, Israel announced Saturday that it will renew the supply of tents and shelter equipment to Gaza, which has not been allowed for 26 weeks, "as part of the IDF’s preparations to move the population from combat zones to the southern Gaza Strip for their protection."

Responding to the planned population transfer, Hamas denounced what it called a "new wave of genocide and displacement," saying that the planned deployment of tents and other shelter equipment by Israel into southern Gaza was a "blatant deception" intended to "cover up a brutal crime that the occupation forces prepare to execute."

HAMAS SAYS IDF STRIKES KILL AT LEAST 18
Meanwhile,
...back at the palazzo, Count Guido stepped from behind the suit of armor, rapier in hand. Ciccolini snarled and reached for his own weapon...
Israeli strikes and gunfire killed at least 18 Paleostinians in Gaza on Sunday, including seven people shot while waiting to collect food aid, according to Gaza’s Hamas-run civil defense agency.

The figures could not be verified and Israel denies deliberately shooting those waiting for aid, although it says troops fire warning shots at those who endanger the forces.

Civil defense front man Mahmud Bassal, whom Israel has accused of being an active Hamas operative, told AFP that seven people were killed in an Israeli dronezap that hit a hospital courtyard in Gaza City, in the territory’s north.

Witnesses said the victims were members of a Hamas unit, which a source from the terror group described as responsible for distributing aid and "fighting thieves."

Witnesses on Sunday reported Israeli Arclight airstrike

s across the Gaza Strip overnight and into the morning.

Bassal said four people were killed in a strike that hit a tent sheltering displaced Paleostinians in the southern area of Khan Younis, and added that Israel continued its intense bombardment of Gaza City’s Zeitoun, where troops have carried out a ground operation for the past week.

He said civil defense crews were facing "enormous difficulties reaching those trapped under the rubble" due to the ongoing violence and lack of equipment.

aircraft from Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Germany, Belgium, La Belle France, Italia, the Netherlands, and — for the first time — Denmark and Indonesia airdropped 161 pallets of humanitarian aid in the Gaza Strip on Sunday, the IDF said.

Each pallet contains around one ton of food.

The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with a rusty iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
, Al Jazeera reported.

The Qassam Brigades said the attack took place in Khan Younis, around the Salah al-Din road, and that tanks and military bulldozers were hit.

The group also reported an ambush in northern Gaza's Zeitoun neighbourhood, saying its fighters hit a Merkava tank of the Israeli army with Yassin-105 shells.

The Quds Brigades, the armed wing of the Paleostinian Islamic Jihad

Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. They worked out of Gaza until they were exiled to Lebanon in 1987, where they clove tightly to Hezbollah. In 1989 they moved to Damascus, where they remain a subsidiary of Hezbollah...
, also released footage of its fighters gathering in Gaza City to plan and execute a mortar attack.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Local official warns of ‘unusual’ activity, possible escalation in Aleppo’s Kurdish areas
[Rudaw] Alarming activities are unfolding in Kurdish-majority neighborhoods of northern Aleppo, a local official told Rudaw on Sunday, cautioning of the potential for further escalation in the near future. The warning comes amid mutual accusations between the Syrian government and Kurdish-led forces over purported attacks against each other.

In a televised interview, Nouri Sheikho, co-chair of the General Council of the Sheikh Maqsood and Ashrafiyeh neighborhoods, stated that "unusual movements targeting Kurds" have been observed in the area. He warned that "possible attacks might follow in the future."

Describing the current situation in the Kurdish neighborhoods as "complicated," Sheikho alleged that the Syrian government and its officials have, over the past 15 days, launched "a media campaign" against Kurdish-majority areas, warning of its potentially dangerous consequences.

His comments follow an incident reported on Monday by Kurdish-led internal security forces (Asayish) - affiliated with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) - who said two of their members were maimed after a "suicide drone" launched by the Syrian interim government struck a security checkpoint near Sheikh Maqsood.

Sheikho also highlighted the "ongoing circulation of drones," noting that their increased presence has intensified fear among residents of the predominantly Kurdish quarters.

In response to the allegations, Syria’s defense ministry on Wednesday denied to Rudaw that its forces had carried out "any attacks" in Aleppo’s neighborhoods, including Kurdish-majority areas.

Instead, the ministry accused the Kurdish-led SDF of "launching several attacks" on Syrian army positions, including an alleged infiltration attempt in the Tal Ma'az area east of Aleppo, which it claimed resulted in the death of a Syrian soldier.

However,
man does not live by words alone, despite the fact that sometimes he has to eat them...
Sheikho firmly denied any such attack by Kurdish forces. "We have not moved even one meter into the territory under their [Syrian government] control and have remained in our own positions," he stated.

On March 10, SDF commander Mazloum Abdi and Syria’s interim president Ahmed al-Sharaa signed a landmark deal to integrate "all civil and military institutions in northeast Syria [Rojava] under the administration of the Syrian state" and to enforce a "ceasefire across all Syrian territory."

A follow-up agreement in April, reportedly brokered with US involvement, created a joint security framework for the Sheikh Maqsood and Ashrafiyeh neighborhoods and included provisions for prisoner exchanges.

Despite the rising tensions, Sheikho reiterated the Kurdish desire for a peaceful resolution. "Kurds want to sit at the dialogue table as Syrian citizens and resolve our problems," he said, emphasizing that they seek a solution free from "interference by neighboring countries."

"We do not want this country to be fragmented," he added, stressing that Kurds will not allow conflict to erupt in Aleppo because it is "not in anyone’s interest."

#1  Are the spontaneous (what's a non-spontaneous explosion) explosions the result of previously-placed devices. Or are they incoming? "Spontaneous" seems to imply the former.
If so, the IRGC must be going nuts trying to figure out who got the things placed, under their very noses.
