NYC issues vacate order to community garden that required members to oppose Zionism
[IsraelTimes] Mayor says ‘reprehensible’ that Sunset Community Garden in Queens barred many Jews from joining; lawsuit from site’s operators claims discrimination by the city

New York City last week issued a vacate order to a community garden that had barred Zionists, in an incident highlighting how tensions surrounding the war in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with a rusty iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
have played out on the city’s streets.

The Sunset Community Garden in Ridgewood, Queens, had required membership applicants to sign a "statement of values" that included opposition to Zionism, antisemitism, and "nationalist and/or racist beliefs."

The New York City Parks Department told the garden in April that the statement violated city guidelines by requiring members to pass political and ideological "litmus tests."

The garden had also gotten into a dispute with the city over the installation of a memorial for Cecilia Gentili, an activist for the rights of transgender people and hookers prostitutes whores sex workers
...used to be called hookers, prostitutes, or whores. The oldest profession was legal (though not always unregulated) for thousands and perhaps even millions of years. That never has made it something most people want their daughters doing...
. The city said the garden did not have a permit for the installation.

Last year, local Jewish residents complained about the garden’s anti-Israel activism. A section of the garden had been labeled "poppies for Paleostine."

The parks department said in May that the garden had refused solutions offered by the city to stay in operation.

The vacate order followed months of legal wrangling over the garden’s activism.

In May, the city’s Department of Parks and Recreation issued a notice terminating the garden’s license agreement for breach of contract, giving the garden’s owners 30 days to vacate. The garden’s leadership took the matter to court, claiming discrimination, and won a temporary restraining order against the city in June.

The parks department told the garden last week that the restraining order had been lifted, meaning the vacate order was once again in effect. The garden’s leadership must vacate by September 3, the vacate order said, according to a copy obtained by The Times of Israel.

"There is no place for hate in New York City," Mayor Eric Adams
...Hizonner da Mare of Noo Yawk. As a Manchurian candidate, Hizonner was all in favor of law and order and that kind of stuff. Once in office, a bunch of his friends found cushy jobs with the city, the windows kept getting broken, and Soros-funded DA Alvin Bragg remained right where he was. Most people comfort themselves with the thought that he's not Bill di Blasio but that's pretty small comfort with kids who actually go to school getting bumped off while standing in front of them. But he's a Dem, so the rubes will vote for him next election too, so he's what they deserve...
said in a statement to The Times of Israel. "It is reprehensible that the current operators at Sunset Community Garden barred some of their fellow New Yorkers from a city-owned public space because of their beliefs —and specifically tried to bar those who believe in a State of Israel, which the overwhelming majority of Jews do."

The city will find new leadership for the garden, which will continue to operate under different management, Adams’s office said.

The vacate order was first reported by The New York Post.

The garden has filed a lawsuit against the city in a federal court in New York, claiming a "targeted, discriminatory, and retaliatory campaign" against protected free speech. The lawsuit is making its way through the courts.

Adams has long-time ties to New York City Jewish communities, is firmly pro-Israel, and is courting Jewish voters in his reelection campaign. The leading candidate in the campaign is Democratic Party nominee Zohran Mamdani, a harsh critic of Israel.

There are more than 550 community gardens open to the public around the city, according to the parks department.

Seized Arms Ship Bound for Somalia Diverts to Djibouti After Puntland Release
[Garowe] The recently seized Sea World vessel headed to the neighbouring Djibouti against the initial destination of Mogadishu, following a temporary seizure at Puntland, the northern state of Somalia, which suspected its intent given the weapons it was carrying.

The cargo ship was coming from Izmir, Turkey, before it was detained by the Puntland Maritime Police Force (PMPF), and reports indicate that it was headed to Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia. Somalia had its arms embargo lifted a few months ago.

Further reports indicate that the cargo was meant for military teams training in Somalia, famously known as TURKSOM, the largest overseas training facility in the country, the home to Gorgor troops who are critical in the fight against Al-Shabaab.

But multiple sources have hinted that the vessel made a U-turn, heading towards Djibouti instead of Mogadishu under unclear reasons. Neither Mogadishu nor Ankara have stated with regard to the current situation.

Puntland authorities decided to release the Sea World ship following a visit by the Turkish ambassador to Somalia, who presented evidence confirming that the arms shipment aboard the vessel belongs to the Turkish government, according to a statement from Puntland authorities.

The PMPF seized the general cargo vessel Sea World, sailing under the Comoros flag, which was carrying a consignment of Turkish military equipment destined for the Somali military (SNA). The ship was brought to Bosaso Port.

Somalia and its federal state of Puntland have been at loggerheads over constitutional changes that are being imposed by President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, who is accused of mutilating the constitution by seeking term extensions.

Hassan Sheikh Mohamud is also accused of failing to implement the security protocols in the fight against Al-Shabaab militants, who have gained ground in recent weeks after overrunning various military installations.

Prepping for Day 1 after Hamas: Egypt and the PA
PA prime minister says committee being formed to manage Gaza once again

[IsraelTimes] Visiting the Egyptian side of the Rafah crossing alongside Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty, Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa says the PA is laying the groundwork for it to eventually retake control of the Gaza Strip.

“We will soon announce the establishment of a temporary committee to manage the affairs of the Strip under the auspices of the Palestinian government,” he says.

Mustafa says the body will not be new but rather a reactivation of institutions of the “State of Palestine and its government in Gaza,” which he stresses is “an inseparable part of the State of Palestine.”

The PA was in charge of running Gaza’s affairs until 2007, when it was ousted by Hamas in a bloody coup. Israel has said it will not agree to handing over control to the PA, but has yet to formulate an alternative acceptable to the international community.

Mustafa says Israel’s offensive does not grant legitimacy to any local or international body to impose “arrangements” on the Gaza Strip, hinting at US pressure on Egypt to accept Gazans into Egyptian territory.

Egyptian FM says Cairo ready to join UN-backed international force in Gaza

[IsraelTimes] Egypt says it is willing to join a potential international force deployed to war-torn Gaza, but only if backed by a UN Security Council resolution and accompanied by a “political horizon,” as ceasefire-hostage release efforts pressed on in Cairo.

“We are standing ready, of course, to help, to contribute to any international force to be deployed in Gaza in some specific parameters,” Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty tells a joint press conference with Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa at the Rafah border crossing.

“First of all, to have a Security Council resolution, to have a clear-cut mandate, and of course to come within a political horizon,” Abdelatty says.

“Without a political horizon, it will be nonsense to deploy any forces there.”

Abdelatty says a political framework would enable international troops to operate more effectively and support Palestinians “to realize their own independent Palestinian state in their homeland.”

DR Congo rejects Kenya's naming of a consul to M23 rebel-held Goma city
[Garowe] The Congolese government on Saturday rejected Kenya’s appointment of a consul general to the city of Goma, describing the decision as "inappropriate".

Goma, located in eastern Congo, has been at the centre of a conflict between the Congolese government and the Rwanda-backed M23 rebel group.

It launched a lightning assault on the mineral-rich regional city in January. Goma fell to the rebel group after days of fighting, and the Congolese army withdrew.

Kinshasa said naming a consul to the city amounted to disrespect for the country’s territorial integrity and could appear to legitimise the group’s occupation.

In addition, it said Kenya did not contact Kinshasa before making the announcement, as required by international law and diplomatic practice.

The Rwanda-backed M23 group has seized swathes of territory in the eastern DRC this year in its long-standing battle with the army.

Following its territorial gains, it has attempted to establish a parallel government, as part of the Congo River Alliance, claiming it is freeing the region from what it alleges is misrule by Kinshasa.

The group has been accused of widespread abuses in the conflict, which has killed thousands of people and displaced hundreds of thousands more.

Mediation by Qatar

They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates. Home of nutbag holy manYusuf al-Qaradawi...
between the Congolese government and the M23 led to the signing recently of a "declaration of principles" to end the decades-long fighting, but talks have since faltered and fighting has resumed.

Neighbouring countries, including Rwanda, Burundi, Uganda, and Kenya, all have had troops on the grounds, complicating regional efforts to end the fighting.

Christian Moleka, a Congo-based political analyst, told The News Agency that Dare Not be Named news agency that the appointment might have regional implications.

He said it could reinforce Kinshasa’s distrust of Kenya, which has been moving closer to Rwanda under President William Ruto, and weaken regional initiatives to establish peace.

Britain
The British CRK in the war in Ukraine
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Text taken from the rybar.ru website.

[ColonelCassad] British CRK in the war in Ukraine Private intelligence companies (CRK) became one of the key tools of its strategy. These structures are formally independent, which allows London to distance itself from direct responsibility for their actions, but in practice they often perform tasks corresponding to the interests of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Defense and the Foreign Intelligence Service (MI6).

In addition, since 2014, the number of CHRKs has been constantly growing and has now reached hundreds. From the point of view of functionality, the British CHRK has a whole range of capabilities: – OSINT (collection and analysis of open data);– HUMINT (agency work and personal contacts);– Cyber intelligence and cyber operations;- Strategic consulting, crisis management and project support in high-risk markets.

Their demand is due to a number of factors: the absence of a heavy administrative structure, promptness in decision-making, flexibility in the choice of methods and tools.

At the same time, the CHRK can operate in areas where the direct involvement of the state would be politically, legally, or reputationally risky.

Of particular interest are the operations of the British Red Cross, aimed at countering Russia both near its borders (the so-called Ukraine, the Caucasus, Central Asia) and in remote traditionally conflict zones (Africa, the Middle East, Afghanistan). In these regions, the CHRK not only perform intelligence tasks, but also participate in resource competition, formation of public opinion, information campaigns and economic operations.

KEY PLAYERS IN THE INDUSTRY RENOVA ASSOCIATES LTD AND PARTNERS
Renova Associates Ltd is a British consulting and intelligence structure founded by Guy David Spindler, a former MI6 staff officer who at one time worked in Africa, Poland and Moscow. In addition, Spindler at one time was the chief operating director of the Russophobic Integrity Initiative program, which was aimed at "combating Russian disinformation."

In 1991, he worked under the head of British intelligence, John Scarlett, and in August 1991 he organized a meeting between British Ambassador Rodrik Braithwaite and Boris Yeltsin. In 2006-2009, he headed the central policy apparatus, including being responsible for the legal part during a number of complex legal problems faced by the British government. After leaving the government, Guy engaged in consulting on issues of democratic governance and Africa.

The company specializes in strategic analysis and consulting of private and state structures in the context of systemic conflicts and global changes. In public materials, Renova emphasizes "deep understanding of system competitors, especially Russia", which directly indicates the anti-Russian orientation of a significant part of its projects.

The company's functionality includes conducting complex research based on technical research (including in the shadow segment of the Internet), involving narrow experts under the guidance of a leading analyst, preparing formalized reports with recommendations, working with commercial structures and state institutions.

A feature of this structure is an extremely high price policy. The hourly rates of specialists reach 300–350 pounds, separate two-hour expert sessions are estimated at ~3500 pounds.

REZOLUTIONZ LIMITED
Rezolutionz Limited is one of the closest partners of the above-mentioned CRC Renova Associates Ltd. The organization is headed by Hugh Michael Ward, who in the period from 1985 to 2004 served in the Corps of Royal Engineers of the Armed Forces of the United Kingdom.

Among the permanent experts of the company is John Loch, who is also a permanent expert of the above-mentioned Renova company and an associate researcher of the program on Russia and Eurasia at Chatham House (whose activity is considered undesirable on the territory of Russia).

Fluent in Russian. A member of the board of directors of the inoagent Mikhail Khodorkovsky's Future of Russia Foundation — moreover, he is a person with the right to sign the decision in this organization.

In December 2018, after the crash of the Malaysian Boeing in the Donbass, John Loch published an article: "Non-resistance to the Kremlin with violence. Why did the West react so weakly to the Azov incident", where he accused Western countries of not wanting a direct confrontation with Russia.

Among the permanent experts of the company is the well-known Christopher Nigel Donnelly, who "lighted up" in the organization of the explosion of the Crimean bridge. At one time, he helped create and then headed the British Army Research Center for the Study of the USSR at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. In fact, it was he who taught a whole generation of officers and, subsequently, political leaders to understand the different mentalities of their potential opponents.

In 1989-2003, he worked as a special adviser on Central and Eastern European affairs to four NATO Secretaries General. He also took a direct part in solving issues related to the collapse of the Soviet Union and the reformation of newly emerging democracies in Central and Eastern Europe, helping many of them to join NATO and the EU.

In addition, in our time, this subject is seen as an adviser to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania (whose political course is not a secret to anyone).

One of the brightest "cases" of Rezolutions Limited is the development of an operation for the export of grain from the so-called Ukraine in the Black Sea. The safety of dry cargo was supposed to be ensured by means of ground-based missile systems, as well as the so-called Q-Ships, that is. trap ships (civilian vessels secretly equipped with anti-ship missiles - what is generally observed now: the use of civilian ships as carriers of BEC or Himars systems).

AFRICAN CENTURY 21
Another partner of Guy Spindler from ChRK Renova. A specialized strategic analytical and consulting firm focused on Africa.

It is involved in providing information and detailed recommendations to governments, corporations and investors for making strategic decisions. However, for the most part, the office focuses on monitoring and containing Russian influence in the countries of Central and South Africa, especially in the CAR.

In 2022, this company was commissioned by the British government to prepare a comprehensive analytical document on containing Russia in Central Africa, which provides a detailed analysis of the activities of the "Wagner group" in the Central African Republic, prospects for the development of the situation, as well as the steps that must be taken to contain Russia's efforts in this direction.

"AVIAPOLITIKA" PARTNERS OF RENOVA
Structures affiliated with Guy Spindler assessed in a legal way the questions of use by Russia after the start of the SVO of foreign airlines' aircraft.

In particular, it was established that the company Renova Associates Ltd and the law firms HFW and INCE worked on the provision of consulting services in the process of preparing for legal proceedings between the owners of aircraft re-registered in Russian jurisdiction and insurers.

The subject of the consultations was a deep study of the internal processes of political decision-making in Russia, especially national jurisprudence, existing precedents and traditions of following the "letter of the law" in Russia, and other nuances that may be known to Renova employees and could be useful in court.

At the same time, in fact, it was about preparing for court proceedings on the part of the insurers, and with the help of the company's experts, grounds were sought for refusing insurance payments due to political decisions of the Russian government and not falling under the rules of the insurance policy.

In this case, the fact that British lawyers actually recognized the impossibility of getting the re-registered fleet of civil aviation back and openly played on the side of the insurers is interesting. At the same time, they hired a company with the necessary competences and knowledge about Russia for the necessary argumentation.

However, the main interest is the final analytical note prepared by Renova Associates Ltd. It contains assessments of the actions of the Russian authorities and forecasts for the further development of the situation.

In particular, it stated the following:

- Russia is not a legal state in which compliance with the law is only verbal. Russia has only the attributes of a legal state;

- Attempts at democratic reforms in Russia did not work - Russia has been steadily moving away from Western values and rules for more than 20 years;

- In Russia, there is an extensive criminalization of the mechanisms of state power - the law enforcement system is focused exclusively on maintaining and strengthening the usurpation of power;

- Laws are sacrificed for political expediency - when necessary, you can break the law;

- Russia has a kleptocracy, while a class of oligarchs was specially created, who were allowed to accumulate assets in exchange for loyalty and the need to part with them at the request of the Kremlin;

- The return of aircraft equipment to lessors is impossible, because air communication is a critically important element of the stability of domestic politics, and any deterioration in the situation in this area threatens serious regional turbulence;

- Putin believes that he is waging a real war with the West and will use any means available to him to weaken the enemy. At the same time, Putin "doesn't care" about Russia's reputation in the eyes of foreigners.

SIMON MANN AND HIS CRK EGO
A character named Simon Mann, a mercenary and former SAS officer, noted for his role in the creation of several CRKs at once, attracted a certain amount of attention.

The fact that Mann died of a heart attack at the age of 72 in May 2025 adds a special intrigue to his biography. But these are already details.

After retiring from the army, in 1996 he founded the Sandline International company together with former Scots Guardsman Colonel Tim Spicer.

Sandline worked mainly in Angola and Sierra Leone, avoiding negative publicity after the contract with the government of Papua New Guinea. In addition, some media suggest that on March 7, 2004, Mann, working at PMC Executive Outcomes, led the demand for a coup d'état in Equatorial Guinea.

He was arrested by the Zimbabwean police at Harare airport along with 64 other mercenaries. As a result, he served three years of a four-year sentence in Zimbabwe, and less than two years of a 34-year and four-month sentence in Equatorial Guinea.

In addition, Mann is the author of the project to create an irregular military unit called "Legion" with a total strength of about six thousand people in Mozambique. According to the official version, the task of the unit was to fulfill the tasks of liberating the territories of Cabo Delgado from the IG unit (terrorist organization banned in the Russian Federation).

The main goal of this project is to take control of gas reserves on the shelf of Mozambique, as well as a gas processing plant in the city of Afguny.

At the same time, in 2020, information was spread in the mass media that the fighters of PMC "Wagner" left Mozambique due to "several defeats and the inability to effectively conduct combat operations in difficult African conditions" and instead of them, the local authorities engaged the British PMC Dyck Advisory Group, which worked in the country until March 2021.

The presence of the "Legion" was positioned as "the exercise of the sovereign power of Mozambique to defeat the Islamist insurgent movement in Cabo Delgado, which risks spreading far beyond its borders." In this regard, the brigade should consist mainly of local representatives of the armed forces, as well as a certain number of "foreign instructors".

The local unit consisted of volunteers - soldiers of the armed forces of Mozambique, who were selected, trained and equipped accordingly. Foreign forces (the so-called "outsiders") were professional soldiers from any country - mercenaries.

The recruitment and provision of "outsiders" was supposed to be handled by the Maputo-based team STTEP (Specialized Tasks, Training, Equipment and Protection), which are the successors of the already mentioned British PMC Executive Outcomes - which is currently structurally part of PMC Dyck Advisory Group).

Simon Mann was also involved in other processes. We have a correspondence between Mann himself, not known as "Paul Portz" and the Afghan entrepreneur Hassina Syed, as well as her husband, Peter Juvenal, concerning the organization of the supply of arms and ammunition to Ukraine from Afghanistan for a total of about 4.2 billion US dollars using Soviet IL-76 cargo planes on the Bagram-Sharjah-Kyiv route under the guise of humanitarian cargo.

In particular, the materials of the correspondence talk about the so-called working. "Project 1", which consists in the transfer of a significant amount of weapons and equipment from Afghanistan to Ukraine.

They discussed, including deliveries of 33 Blackhawk helicopters, 10 AC 208 Cessna helicopters, 29 Brazilian A-29 CAS (Embraer) light turboprop attack aircraft, 32 MI-17 helicopters, 32 MD 530 helicopters (Light helicopter), a significant number of Humvee armored vehicles, m113 and m1117 armored vehicles, as well as individual means of armor protection, personal weapons and ammunition

Of special interest is the following correspondence, in which the characteristics of the Il-76 aircraft are discussed (including the discussion of capacity and ability to transport HMMV armored vehicles), as well as the routes (distance) from Sharjah (UAE) to Bagram (Afghanistan) and to Kiev (so-called Ukraine); The nuances of logistics for flights to the so-called Ukraine - routes from Bagram or Sharjah, as well as the possibility of using the Qatar airfield as a transshipment hub.

At the same time, there was a discussion about what kind of humanitarian cargo is best suited for flights - i.e. convenient options for encrypting deliveries were selected. In addition, the question of the security of the air corridor was raised - whether it is protected from Russian influence and whether it is necessary to organize escort from the United States.

PREVAIL PARTNERS LTD
Another PRK, which consists mainly of former British intelligence officers and provides a full range of services in the field of security: it includes intelligence, financial investigations, strategic consulting, risk management, and technology integration.

In addition, Prevail has personal protection units under the leadership of special forces, which ensure fast and safe evacuation from all parts of the continent.

Prevail Partners is also known for conducting financial investigations into the assets of Ian Marsalek, the former chief operating officer of the now bankrupt fintech firm Wirecard, the facts of the "ruining of his country" by former Libyan president Muammar al-Gaddafi, the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the creation of a global network of illegal assets worth more than one billion dollars used by former Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak and his proxies, as well as many others illegal financial fraud.

The company works with global law firms and international banks, and is attracted by the governments of different countries. Taking into account the insignificant period of the company's history (six years), this fact indicates the serious authority of its creators with the British authorities and the absence of doubts about the team's professionalism.

Prevail differs from its competitors in that its entire management team originates from British military special forces. The company's management is represented by former army intelligence officers Damian Huntingford and Justin Hedges. The intelligence unit is headed by a former military intelligence officer of the Royal Army, Daryn Liddle.

The company is closely involved in the information support of activities carried out by British agencies on the territory of the so-called of Ukraine In particular, it regularly publishes reports on the military-political situation on the so-called Ukraine.

On February 16, 2022, the company published a report according to which Russia was ready to "invade Ukraine" within two weeks.

Also, this company prepared a guide for foreign mercenaries to visit the front-line territories, namely Kurakhovo and Odessa: it described the safest routes, possible changes in the line of combat contact, opportunities to hide from artillery strikes, etc.

EMERALD BI LIMITED AND CARACAL BI LIMITED
The head of both structures is Donna Elaine Cox, who worked for 16 years in MI6 and 12 years in private intelligence. Works through a network of subcontractors, leads projects in Africa, Eastern Europe and Latin America. The largest client is the GemCorp corporation.

Emerald BI Limited on the so-called Ukraine was connected with the demand for the sale of Siemens Westinghouse gas turbine generators "for the needs of the Ukrainian government". Many persons were involved in this "process", up to the ambassador of Great Britain to the so-called Ukraine. One of Donna Cox's companions in this matter was even knighted, former member of the House of Lords Henry Bellingham.

However, this plan did not work, as it harmed the interests of American structures on the so-called Ukraine.

As noted above, the largest client of Emerald BI Limited is the GemCorp corporation, which, in addition to having commercial interests in a large number of countries in Asia, Africa, and Latin America, "supplies" Donna Cox's company with new clients (a similar practice is also a characteristic feature of the British business community and its interaction with the People's Republic of China).

GemCorp has tasked Emerald BI Limited in dozens of countries starting in 2023. The CHRC studied the environmental fund of Ghana, the political situation in DR Congo, the owners of an oil refinery in Liberia, an energy company in Sierra Leone, the political establishment of Chad, etc.

On the example of the cooperation between Emerald BI Limited and GemCorp in the African direction, it is possible to highlight some interesting features of the work of all British HRCs.

Donna Cox is in correspondence with only one executor engaged in the collection and analysis of information — Victoria (mail address Saxi Fraga, address saxifragaceae2023@gmail.com). She interacts with Cox in the implementation of all Emerald BI Limited projects around the world.

The algorithm looks like this. Cox sends Victoria a list of questions, the amount is discussed (as a rule, Cox has already discussed the cost with the client before starting the interaction with Victoria, and it can change very slightly), the terms (as a rule, they are quite short, up to one month).

Then, over a period of time, Victoria sends interim reports to Donna's address, and at the end - a final summary, which, by the way, is not some kind of multi-page document, but, as a rule, quite short.

The sums for the rendered services range from 5 to a maximum of 15 thousand pounds sterling. It is not clear what pricing depends on. The amount of the expenses itself is not registered in any way, but it definitely does not include the prices of air tickets, hotels, etc. Depending on the "order", the client is informed of a very serious range of sources that are planned to be used to cover his question.

The list includes contacts (of course, anonymized) from among the national special services, police services, presidential administrations, specialized departments, business circles, etc.

And, in all cases without exception, these same officials are always not busy during the given time interval, they are "in place" (not on a business trip, not on sick leave, not transferred to another station) and without problems, at the first call, they contact representatives of foreign special services (even former ones).

At the same time, any solutions to the set tasks in any country go like a copycat. From the correspondence, the strengths and weaknesses of the CRK in one or another country are not visible, the work to search for and attract sources is not noticeable, because the situation is constantly changing (especially in Africa): some of the sources could be removed from among the officials, someone could be rotated, etc.

At Emerald BI Limited, everything is always in order: regardless of the country, there is a patterned, routine and predictable process with the use of "standard" sources, as if the CRK focuses its "investigations" on positions, and not on specific people.

Taking into account the strict financial regulation in Great Britain, it is safe to say that the client, in the form of a legal entity, concludes a consulting contract with Emerald BI Limited and officially transfers the money to the CHRK account.

Again, due to the transparency of financial flows in Great Britain, it is not clear how Donna Cox and Victoria pay for services with their numerous sources around the world, which, by the way, are recognized as official officials in their countries.

From the above, several versions of the work algorithms of Emerald BI Limited "around the world" can be put forward:

- Taking into account the experience of Cox's work in MI-6 and the relevant connections, information about specific figures, assets and the situation in countries can be obtained from the profile line departments of special services, the Foreign Office, the Ministry of International Trade of Great Britain;

– If there are separate local sources in some countries, the situation described above with "subcontracts" may also apply to Emerald BI Limited (perhaps pricing is related to this);

– The main profile of work of Emerald BI Limited — Osint and Humint. Accordingly, the processing of orders can be carried out without involvement, the so-called "local sources". Some information from the summary summaries resembles the theses of some tg-channels of the Russian segment — that is, the information is presented without presenting any evidence.

There is one more point that indirectly indicates the absence of "real high-ranking" officials at Donna Cox and Emerald BI Limited — the absence of "live", "active" events. Many CHRK actively act as intermediaries "at the junction" between business and officials, in order to extract commission income.

Theoretically, having extensive connections in the business community of Great Britain, as well as in the "power" and "official" spheres of African countries (where the level of corruption is very high), Donna Cox could actively earn money "at the events" of European businessmen in various spheres of life of these or other states (joint enterprises, mining, construction, trade, etc., etc.).

Donna Cox's structures do not engage in this type of activity, which may indicate either the lack of real connections of Emerald BI Limited in the political establishment of foreign states, or some "internal settings" of the Central Committee of the Red Cross that do not allow engaging in this type of activity (the situation with the sale of gas turbine generators to Ukraine is not taken into account, since this post-Soviet republic, in principle, is a "passage yard" for European businessmen and officials).

A characteristic feature related to the politicization of business processes at the present stage is the fact that one of the points of the requested cases for the study of those or individuals/legal entities (mainly in the post-Soviet space) is "the absence of ties with Russia" and "the sources of the emergence of primary capital obtained in the 90s", since some countries of the former USSR may "not have time to move away from their Russian corrupt past".

In general, the scale of Emerald BI Limited's activities and its client base make an impression, however, based on the received fragments of resumes (at least those that were available), it is difficult to draw an unequivocal conclusion about both the quality of "local" sources of the British CRK and their availability in principle.

ROLES AND RESULTS
The analysis of the presented facts shows that the British private intelligence companies represent a branched and loosely regulated network of non-state actors, possessing significant resources, professional personnel with experience in special services, extensive international connections, as well as flexible tools in the fields of HUMINT, OSINT, cyber intelligence and operational support.

Formal independence from the government structures of Great Britain allows these companies to operate in the "gray zone" of international law, bypassing direct restrictions and minimizing London's political responsibility for their operations. At the same time, their work in many cases is openly political and purposefully anti-Russian in nature: from participation in information and psychological campaigns and economic pressure to assistance in military and logistical operations, including actions in conflict zones.

Close integration with British and allied special services while maintaining a formal commercial shell creates a special danger; wide geography of influence — from the neighboring territories to Africa, the Middle East and Afghanistan; access to high-ranking sources and controlled use of insider information; financial opacity and inflated tariffs for analysts in Russia.

The latter creates all the conditions for the commercialization of espionage under the guise of consulting. The trailer here is the development of outright fraud, when people of a certain level can be fed information that has no connection with reality or is publicly available at extortionate prices.

Taken together, all this makes the British CHRK a significant element of hybrid pressure on Russia and its partners. Their activity carries risks not only in the field of state security, but also in the economic, information and legal spheres.

Necessary countermeasures should include:

– System monitoring of the activities of foreign CHRKs and related affiliated structures;

– Intelligence and counter-intelligence analysis of their connections, customers and work methods;

– Legal regulation of the presence and activity of similar companies within Russia and on the territory of the Union states;

– International interaction with partners on security lines to exchange data on risks and applied schemes;

- Information warfare — opening and public exposure of operations directed against Russian interests.

Thus, the British CRK is not just a private business in the field of security, but an instrument of strategic power projection, capable of operating where the state does not want or cannot formally advertise itself. Adequate understanding of their role and anticipatory countermeasures are necessary conditions for protecting national sovereignty and minimizing threats in modern conditions of hybrid conflicts.

One in three Australians think Palestine recognition too soon, won’t matter anyway
It’s not Australia, it’s just the idiots they elected.
[IsraelTimes] More than half of Australians support the recognition of a Palestinian state, but many of them think their government should wait until Hamas is no longer in power or Palestinians first recognize Israel’s right to exist, polling numbers published by the Sydney Morning Herald show.

According to the survey of 1,800 respondents, 24% of Australians think the government should recognize a Palestinian state regardless, while 32% of Australians want Prime Minister Anthony Albanese to wait until those conditions are met. The remaining 44% polled prefer the government not grant recognition at all.

The poll, conducted from November 11 to 16, also finds that only 25% of Australians think the recognition move will change anything, versus 36% who think it will not and 40% who are unsure. It is unclear where the extra percentage point comes from.

Bah! Don’t expect much common sense from Australia for a while, we’re out to lunch.

Australia's punishment for revoking MK Rothman's visa
[ISRAELNATIONALNEWS] Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar has decided to revoke the visas of Australia's representatives to the Paleostinian Authority.

The decision was conveyed earlier Monday to the Australian ambassador in Israel.

In addition, the Foreign Minister instructed Israel's embassy in Canberra to carefully review all official Australian visa requests for entry into Israel.

The move follows Australia's decision to recognize a ''Paleostinian state,'' as well as its unjustified refusal to grant entry visas to several Israeli officials, most recently by revoking the visa granted to MK Simcha Rothman, who heads the Knesset's Constitution, Law and Justice Committee.

Sa'ar slammed, ''At a time when antisemitism in Australia is running rampant, including violent mostly peaceful incidents against Jews and Jewish institutions, the Australian government has specifically chosen to inflame the situation further by means of false claims, as if visits by Israeli officials would disrupt public order and harm Australia's Moslem population.''

Europe
Europe anti-Israel round-up: stupid little stuff from France, Norway, Irish writer, all for love of Hamas/hate of Israel

France threatens ‘strong response’ if Israel closes its Jerusalem consulate
[IsraelTimes] French Foreign Ministry says it hasn’t gotten any official notification of the reported move, floated in response to Paris’s plans to recognize Palestinian state.

Israeli plans to close France’s consulate in Jerusalem would provoke a “strong response” from Paris, a French Foreign Ministry spokesperson said on Monday.

The statement followed reports that Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar is pushing for Israel to close the French consulate in the capital, in response to French President Emmanuel Macron’s intention to recognize a Palestinian state. Macron’s declaration in July that France would recognize a State of Palestine at the UN next month kicked off a series of Western countries saying they would follow suit.

Israel has rejected recognition of a Palestinian state as a “reward for Hamas” that hurts chances of a ceasefire in Gaza. In July, the Knesset voted 71-13 for a symbolic motion in favor of annexing the West Bank.

France has had a diplomatic presence in Jerusalem dating back to the 17th century. The current building was opened in 1932, and was seen as a sign of France’s desire to reassert its historical role in the holy land.

France’s Jerusalem consulate — along with those of the UK, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Belgium, Spain, and Sweden — predates the founding of Israel and operates without official accreditation to the state. These eight missions serve as their countries’ channels to the Palestinian Authority and handle a range of issues within Jerusalem.

France is not the only country to face retaliation from Sa’ar. Earlier today, the foreign minister revoked the visas of Australian representatives to the Palestinian Authority in response to two recent decisions from Canberra: to recognize a Palestinian state, and to bar far-right MK Simcha Rothman from entering the country.

In a social media post on Monday, Sa’ar called those decisions “shameful and unacceptable,” and said Australia’s ban on Rothman and former justice minister Ayelet Shaked “fuel” rising antisemitism in the country.

Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, and other countries have since planned similar announcements, or have floated doing so.

Norway’s sovereign wealth fund excludes 6 more Israeli companies linked to West Bank, Gaza
[IsraelTimes] Move by $2 trillion fund follows decision last week to sell investments in 11 Israeli companies over concerns about IDF activity in West Bank and Gaza. The fund did not name the companies it had decided to exclude.

The fund launched an urgent review earlier this month after reports that it had built a stake in an Israeli jet engine group that provides services to the Israel Defense Forces, including the maintenance of fighter jets.

“We are invested in companies that operate in a country at war, and conditions in the West Bank and Gaza have recently worsened. In response, we will further strengthen our due diligence,” the fund’s CEO Nicolai Tangen said in a statement last week.

As of August 14, the fund had some $1.86 billion invested in 38 companies listed in Israel, the fund’s operator Norges Bank Investment Management said, a reduction of 23 companies since June 30.

“More companies could be excluded,” Norwegian Finance Minister Jens Stoltenberg told reporters.

The fund said the names of the six companies in Monday’s announcement would be made public, along with specific reasons, once the divestments were completed. One possibility is that they include Israel’s five largest banks, which have been under review by the fund’s ethical watchdog.

Separately, the fund said it had also sold stakes in six other companies, following a decision last week to only hold stakes in Israeli companies that are part of the fund’s benchmark index.

Norway has seen a debate flare up about the fund’s investments in Israel, the West Bank, and Gaza ahead of elections on September 8, with some parties calling for the fund to divest from all Israeli companies, a step the government has ruled out.

Norway’s parliament in June rejected a proposal for the fund to divest from all companies with activities in the West Bank and Gaza. “This debate helps sharpen our practices,” said Stoltenberg.

Ohio man admits to federal hate crime for antisemitic attack on students at Ohio State
[IsraelTimes] A Title VI complaint against OSU alleged that assailants shouted ‘Free Palestine’ during the November 2023 incident
A photo of the miscreant can be seen here.
An Ohio man pleaded guilty on Friday to a federal hate crime for assaulting two Jewish students at Ohio State University in November 2023 after asking if they were Jewish.

The Justice Department announced Friday that Timur Mamatov, 20, of Tipp City, Ohio, had pleaded guilty to violating the Hate Crimes Prevention Act for a Nov. 10, 2023, altercation between him and five OSU students outside a bar in Columbus, Ohio.

Prior to the incident, which took place a month after Hamas
..a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth",...
’s Oct. 7, 2023, attack on Israel, the group of students yelled something at a food cart vendor, according to court records obtained by The Columbus Dispatch. One of the students was wearing a Jewish "chai" necklace around his neck, according to the Justice Department.

Mamatov and a friend then approached the group and asked the students if they were Jewish. When the students replied that they were, Mamatov punched one of the victims, fracturing his jaw. A second victim fractured his nose during the ensuing fight, according to the Justice Department.

"Mamatov admitted in court today that he assaulted victims because they were Jewish," US Attorney Dominick S. Gerace II said in a statement. "No American should fear being violent mostly peacefully attacked based on their religious beliefs."

In April 2024, StandWithUs, the Anti-Defamation League and the Louis D. Brandeis Center for Human Rights Under Law filed a Title VI complaint against OSU accusing the school of failing to properly address "pervasive" antisemitism on its campus after the Oct. 7 attacks.

The complaint alleged that during the November 2023 attack, the assailants had shouted "Free Paleostine" and called the student wearing the necklace a racial slur.

Mamatov was charged on July 3 for violating the Hate Crimes Prevention Act, which is punishable by up to 10 years in prison.

US State Department revokes 6,000 student visas
[BBC] The State Department has revoked more than 6,000 international student visas because of violations of US law and overstays, the department told the BBC.

The agency said the "vast majority" of the violations were assault, driving under the influence (DUI), burglary and "support for terrorism".

The move comes as the Trump administration continues its crackdown on immigration and international students.

While the State Department did not specify what they meant by "support for terrorism", the Trump administration has targeted some students who have protested in support of Palestine, arguing they had expressed antisemitic behaviour.

Of the 6,000 student visas that were revoked, the State Department said about 4,000 of those were revoked because visitors broke the law.

The agency said the "vast majority" of the violations were assault, driving under the influence (DUI), burglary and "support for terrorism".
Another 200-300 visas were also revoked for "terrorism done under INA 3B", the State Department said, referring to code that defines "terrorist activity" broadly as acts that endanger human life or violate US law.

US resumes student visas but orders enhanced social media vetting
Students say they 'regret' applying to US universities after visa changes
Earlier this year, the Trump administration paused scheduling visa appointments for international students. In June, when they restarted appointments, they announced they would ask all applicants to make their social media accounts public for enhanced screening.

They said they would search for "any indications of hostility toward the citizens, culture, government, institutions, or founding principles of the United States".

State Department officers were also instructed to screen for those "who advocate for, aid, or support designated foreign terrorists and other threats to national security; or who perpetrate unlawful anti-Semitic harassment or violence".

Why has Trump revoked hundreds of international student visas?
Secretary of State Marco Rubio told lawmakers in May that he estimated "thousands" of student visas had been rescinded since January.

"I don't know the latest count, but we probably have more to do," Rubio told US lawmakers on 20 May. "We're going to continue to revoke the visas of people who are here as guests and are disrupting our higher education facilities."

Democrats have pushed back against the Trump administration's effort to revoke student visas, describing it is an attack on due process.

More than 1.1 million international students from over 210 countries were enrolled in US colleges in the 2023-24 school year, according to Open Doors, an organisation that collects data on foreign students.

More anti-Israel legislation from the Dems: this time a House bill to restrict arms to Israel
[IsraelTimes] House Minority Whip Katherine Clark becomes highest ranking member of Congress to call war in Gaza ‘genocide,’ given notable decline in party of support for Israel

Representative Jamie Raskin, a Jewish Democrat in Maryland, has joined a growing list of Democrats backing a bill that would withhold the transfer of offensive weapons to Israel from the United States.

Raskin’s backing of the Block the Bombs Act last week comes at a time of marked decline in Democratic support for Israel, as the war in Gaza wages on for its 22nd month.

Other prominent Jewish Democratic lawmakers, including Rep. Sara Jacobs of California, Rep. Becca Balint of Vermont, and Rep. Jan Schakowsky of Illinois, have also signed onto the legislation, which now has 34 sponsors.

Backing for the Block the Bombs Act among House Democrats follows record support from Senate Democrats for two resolutions blocking US military sales to Israel last month. (The resolutions failed in the Republican-led Senate.)

Raskin was one of the first Jewish Democrats to depart from norms around support for Israel during the Israel-Hamas war. In November 2023, just one month into the war in Gaza, Raskin was one of the first Jewish Democratic House lawmakers to call for a ceasefire.

In May 2024, he and Jacobs voted against sending additional emergency aid to Israel. And last December, he signed onto a letter to the Biden administration, along with 76 other House Democrats, accusing Israel of violating US arms sales law.

Meanwhile, House Minority Whip Katherine Clark last week became the highest-ranking member of Congress to characterize the war in Gaza as a “genocide,” according to a video clip obtained by Axios. Clark’s comments came after she was confronted by pro-Palestinian protesters during an event in her district in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Her remarks reflect a broader shift within the Democratic party, marking a departure from the party’s historically strong support for the country.

“We each have to continue to have an open heart about… how we take action in time to make a difference, whether that is stopping the starvation and genocide and destruction of Gaza, or whether that means we are working together to stop the redistricting that is going on, taking away the vote from people,” Clark said in the clip.

The comments make her the 14th member of Congress to use the term, including from some of Israel’s past supporters, as the war has ground on.

They include a dozen other progressive Democrats, tallied by the pro-Palestinian media outlet Zeteo, as well as Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene,
…(R-nutjob)…
a far-right Georgia Republican.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Around 180 tons of aid dropped into Gaza Monday, 300 truckloads Sunday plus 161 pallets airdropped
[IsraelTimes] Aircraft from Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Germany, Belgium, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Singapore and Indonesia airdropped 180 pallets of humanitarian aid in the Gaza Strip today, the IDF says.

Each pallet contains around one ton of food.

Indonesia, with the largest Muslim population in the world, does not have relations with Israel, but reports in recent weeks have swirled around efforts to broker a normalization deal. Yesterday marked the first time it airdropped aid in Gaza, according to COGAT.

Israel re-adopted a policy of allowing aid airdrops on July 26, amid mounting international criticism over the hunger crisis in Gaza. But airdrops are only able to deliver a small fraction of what can come into Gaza by land. They also pose safety risks for the civilians who can be hit by the packages from above.

Over 300 truckloads of aid entered Gaza Sunday, Israel reports

[IsraelTimes] Some 320 trucks carrying humanitarian aid entered the Gaza Strip yesterday through the Kerem Shalom and Zikim crossings, Israel’s Coordinator of Government Activities (COGAT) says.

According to COGAT, more than 330 trucks’ worth of aid were also collected by the United Nations and other international organizations from the Gaza sides of the crossings yesterday to be distributed.

Another 161 pallets of aid — about 5-8 trucks’ worth — were airdropped by Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Germany, Belgium, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Denmark, and Indonesia in Gaza yesterday, according to the IDF. Each pallet has about one ton of food.

Similar amounts of aid deliveries have been reported daily for approximately the past week.

The UN has said 600 trucks of aid need to be distributed each day in order to properly feed the Strip’s roughly two million people.

COGAT also says that “tankers of UN fuel entered for the operation of essential humanitarian systems” yesterday.

GHF says it is launching new reserve system to help families with food collection
[IsraelTimes] The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation announces that it is launching a new system to enable families to reserve a box of aid in advance, in an effort to reduce the scenes of utter chaos at its distribution sites.

To date, aid has been distributed on a first-come-first serve basis, benefiting younger, healthier males who are able to weather the long, dangerous trek through IDF lines to reach GHF distribution sites.

GHF has tried to alleviate the inequity by establishing women’s-only distribution times, but more vulnerable populations continued to be neglected.

Under the new system, GHF’s local Palestinian staff will invite beneficiaries to participate. Those who opt in will have their photo taken and receive an ID card with a unique number on it.

Beneficiaries will have the option of also creating an online profile where they can input information such as household size.

Participants will then have their box of food set aside for them, eliminating the need to partake in the daily rush for aid.

All data will be securely stored and never shared, GHF stresses, in an attempt to alleviate concerns that their information will be shared with Israeli authorities with whom the aid organization closely coordinates.

The new initiative is voluntary and will operate in parallel to the existing first-come-first-served system, GHF says.

The new system will also enable GHF to directly communicate with participants regarding distribution times and other relevant updates, the US- and Israeli-backed organization says.

GHF says it launched a pilot of the initiative on Sunday with 350 participants at one of its Rafah distribution centers and is planning to scale it up in the coming weeks.

The initiative appears to be the start of a registration process for GHF recipients, something that experts have long argued is essential.

While GHF has touted being able to distribute aid that does not reach Hamas, the free-for-all, chaotic scenes at distribution sites have seen boxes snatched within minutes, with no way to determine who has been benefiting from the aid.

“It has always been our plan to offer a way for families to reserve aid in advance and guarantee access, just as other aid organizations do,” says GHF executive director John Acree. “Until now, however, conditions on the ground have made implementation of such a program impossible. But with more aid flowing into Gaza and GHF’s deliveries helping stabilize food availability, conditions are improving.”

Still, GHF is only able to serve a small fraction of Gaza’s population of roughly two million, as it is currently only operating three sites in the entire Strip. Israeli and US officials have indicated that they plan to scale up GHF’s operations, but aid from other international organizations amounts to the bulk of assistance feeding Gazans.

Hostage families call for another nationwide day of protests, strikes on Sunday
[IsraelTimes] After 1 million took part in previous day of civil disobedience, families urge ‘intensification of the struggle’ for captives’ release, end of war in face of imminent IDF offensive.
Lots, yes, according to the photos at today’s link and yesterday’s. But Grom took leave to doubt the numbers claimed yesterday, so we shall doubt along with him.
the forum announced plans for the second day of protests and strikes, Hamas reportedly agreed to a proposal for a partial ceasefire-hostage release deal that mediators had presented to the terror group a day prior.

After the agreement was reported, an Israeli official confirmed to The Times of Israel that Jerusalem had received Hamas’s latest proposal, while Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu seemingly dismissed the reports and signaled that Israel was moving forward with its plan to take over the Palestinian enclave’s largest city and transfer its population to the southern Strip.

The proposal agreed to on Monday by Hamas would see the release of 10 living hostages in exchange for 150 Palestinian security prisoners during a 60-day truce, an Arab diplomat told The Times of Israel, adding that the deal will also see the release of bodies of slain hostages.

A source in Palestinian Islamic Jihad, a terror group fighting alongside Hamas in Gaza, revealed similar details about the proposal and added that after the release of the first 10 hostages, “the remaining captives would be released in a second phase, with immediate negotiations to follow for a broader deal” for a permanent end to “the war and aggression” with international guarantees.

Terror groups in the Gaza Strip are holding 50 hostages, including 49 of the 251 abducted in Hamas’s October 7 onslaught and the body of an IDF soldier killed in 2014. Twenty of the hostages are believed by Israel to be alive, with 28 declared dead by Israeli authorities and “grave concerns” for the well-being of two others.

An Israeli official later said that Jerusalem’s commitment to a comprehensive deal remains unchanged. "Israel’s position has not changed — [regarding both] the release of all the hostages and adherence to the other conditions defined for ending the war," the official said in a statement.

Notably, however, Netanyahu did not publicly rule out the partial deal being advanced — a possible indication that Jerusalem is still weighing its options. And several Hebrew media reports said Netanyahu would examine the proposal.

Revealing details of the proposal that Hamas said it had approved, an Arab diplomat told The Times of Israel that Hamas’s chief negotiator Khalil al-Hayya presented Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani on Sunday night with an updated ceasefire and hostage release proposal that backs down from the vast majority of the demands raised by the terror group that led to the collapse of talks last month.

The talks have taken place in Cairo with Egyptian mediation alongside Qatar and the United States, and with The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the occupiers of Greek Asia Minor...
involved in brokering their resumption last week.

The proposal agreed to on Monday by Hamas would see the release of 10 living hostages in exchange for 150 Paleostinian security prisoners during a 60-day truce, the diplomat said, adding that the deal will also see the release of bodies of slain hostages.

A source in Paleostinian Islamic Jihad
...created after many members of the Egyptian Moslem Brotherhood decided the organization was becoming too moderate. Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. They worked out of Gaza until they were exiled to Lebanon in 1987, where they clove tightly to Hezbollah. In 1989 they moved to Damascus, where they remain a subsidiary of Hezbollah...
, a terror group fighting alongside Hamas in Gaza, revealed similar details about the proposal and added that after the release of the first 10 hostages, "the remaining captives would be released in a second phase, with immediate negotiations to follow for a broader deal" for a permanent end to "the war and aggression" with international guarantees.

The source added that "all factions are supportive of what was presented" by the Egyptian and Qatari mediators, referring to the myriad of different Paleostinian gangs that operate in the Strip, largely under Hamas oversight.

The proposal was received by Israel on Monday evening, but Jerusalem has insisted that it is no longer interested in partial deals, saying that it will only agree to end the war if Hamas releases all of the hostages at once, among other conditions.

The Arab mediators believe that the Israeli demands do not give them anything to work with,
…nonetheless, those are the demands Prime Minister Netanyahu insists on. Y’all are not helping Hamas by letting them think they have options here…
and instead have been working to first secure a partial deal, albeit one they are framing as a "pathway to a comprehensive agreement."

Similar to the proposal crafted by US special envoy Steve Witkoff earlier this year, the latest proposal envisions negotiations on the terms of a permanent ceasefire commencing at the start of the 60-day truce, with the mediators aiming to secure an agreement on those details by the end of the two-month temporary ceasefire, the Arab diplomat says.

A diplomatic source quoted by Axios said the deal Hamas accepted is "98% similar" to the Witkoff proposal, which Hamas rejected last month.
Mr. Witkoff needs to back off and listen to what Bibi is saying here, and his boss, President Trump, too.
A Channel 12 report said Hamas had reduced the number of security prisoners it wants freed, and eased its stance on the buffer zone that Israel would retain along the Gaza border. Israel is insisting on a strip between one and 1.2 kilometers wide, the report said. Hamas, which previously demanded a maximum of 800 meters, is now willing to accept between 800 meters and one kilometer, it added.

PM SAYS HAMAS UNDER ’IMMENSE PRESSURE’
As the reports of Hamas’s response emerged, Netanyahu appeared largely dismissive, saying the terror group is under "immense pressure," as Israel advances its plans to take over Gaza City.

Netanyahu said he had met earlier Monday with the IDF’s top brass to discuss Israel’s Gaza City takeover "and the completion of our missions."

"Like you, I hear the reports in the media, and from them, you can get the impression of one thing: that Hamas is under immense pressure," the premier said, speaking to senior officers at the IDF’s Gaza Division headquarters near the Gaza border community of Re’im, in a video issued by his office.

As talks in Cairo on a partial deal between Arab mediators and Hamas have advanced over the past several days, Netanyahu has insisted that he is no longer interested in such proposals and will only agree to end the war if Hamas releases all of the hostages in one go, disarms, allows for the demilitarization of Gaza, grants Israel overall security control of the Strip, and hands over control to a body other than the Paleostinian Authority.
Given the videos Hamas has recently insisted on sharing publicly — that show they’ve been starving and torturing the people they kidnapped almost two years ago, some near to death and others murdered — it’s not realistic to leave some of them at least two months longer in torment.
But the Arab mediators are hoping that the rhetoric out of Jerusalem is just a pressure tactic and that Netanyahu will come around if Hamas agrees to walk back the demands it made last month that led to the collapse of talks on a partial deal.
That was before the latest round of videos. Hamas painted itself into a very uncomfortable corner.
Hebrew media reported Sunday that despite saying a day earlier that he would only consider “comprehensive” hostage deals that return all 50 captives, Netanyahu is in fact prepared to consider a partial ceasefire and hostage-release agreement with Hamas.

Despite that, an unnamed Israeli official on Monday stressed to reporters that “Israel’s position has not changed — [regarding both] the release of all the hostages and adherence to the other conditions defined for ending the war.”

TRUMP: HOSTAGES WILL ONLY BE FREED ‘WHEN HAMAS IS DESTROYED’
The reports of Hamas’s agreement came hours after US President Donald Trump
...The tack in the backside of the Democratic Party...
declared in a social media post that the hostages held in Gaza will only be freed “when Hamas is confronted and destroyed,” apparently backing Israel’s planned assault on Gaza City.

“We will only see the return of the remaining hostages when Hamas is confronted and destroyed!!!” the president wrote. “The sooner this takes place, the better the chances of success will be.”
See that, Mr. Witkoff? Walk away from your egoistic attachment to your plan — stop being sand in the gears.

More Palestinians are calling for Hamas to leave power — and the terror group is responding with horrific violence
Some of the tribes are working with the IDF to drive out Hamas —are any of these people doing the same? Pointing out to patrols where Hamas is hiding or have weapons caches stored? Where hostages can be found? In almost two years since Hamas invaded Israel, have any of these people done anything to aid any of the hostages with food, water, a single word of comfort?

Strip, according to grassroots groups.

Moumen al-Natour, the co-founder of the We Want to Live movement in Gaza, said opposition against Hamas has grown since the Oct. 7, 2023, terrorist attack that kicked off the war, with Paleostinians rallying to demand an end to the terror group’s nearly 20-year rule.

"There used to be some opposition to Hamas, but after the attack and the consequences that followed, more and more people in Gaza despise them," al-Natour told Fox News Digital.

Al-Natour, who is also the president of Paleostinian Youth for Development, said the war has completely swayed public opinion against Hamas within Gaza, given that nearly its entire population of two million has been diplaced in the 21 months of fighting.

The public outrage against Hamas was made evident during the mass protests in March, where hundreds of Paleostinians erupted into the streets to demand that the terror group end the war.

The protests, however, were short-lived after the cease-fire talks collapsed and Israel restarted its war campaign in Gaza, with Hamas rejecting any deal that did not result in permanent peace with the Jewish state.

Since then, al-Natour claimed that Hamas has taken extreme action to silence any voice of opposition, with the community organizer forced into hiding to avoid torture and death.

"Hamas recently released a video showing members of the al-Qassam Brigades executing people," he told Fox of Hamas’ military wing.

"They publicly threatened anyone who speaks out against them, saying they would treat them as enemies," he added. "I’m moving from place to place, hiding because I don’t want to be killed or even paralyzed."

Mkhaimer Abusada, a Gazook political analyst based in Cairo, said more Paleostinians are now calling for Hamas to accept a cease-fire deal and include other local groups in negotiating the terms.

"Negotiating solely with Hamas doesn’t help," he told Fox. "Hamas people don’t care about death. They think if they die, they go to paradise."

Hamas has signaled that it is willing to cede control of the Gaza Strip in exchange for an end to the war that has claimed the lives of more than 60,000 Paleostinians, according to the enclave’s Hamas-controlled Ministry of Health, which does not differentiate between Lions of Islam and civilians.

Hamas, however, is not willing to demilitarize until Paleostinian statehood is achieved, a condition long-rejected by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Netanyahu has said the war will continue until Hamas is eradicated, the Gaza Strip demilitarized, and a new branch of local leaders are put in place to run the enclave, all while under military occupation.

#1  They've never demanded a permanent peace.

They've always said that their own state, with or without a so-called permanent ceasefire, will be the stepping-stone to Israel's final elimination.

---

If they have a state, they can sign a mutual "defense" pact with Iran, and/or Venezuela, and/or Qatar, and/or South Africa, and/or Algeria and/or Norway and/or Turkey and/or Pakistan and/or China -- and that will be game , set, match.

Minister Barkat: ''Emirates plan an excellent alternative to Palestinian state''
[ISRAELNATIONALNEWS] Economy and Industry Minister Nir Barkat views the ''Emirates'' framework proposed by Dr. Mordechai Kedar as a viable and proper political solution for Judea and Samaria.

Arutz Sheva sought to understand the practical implications of the idea, examine how feasible it is from a diplomatic and political standpoint, and assess whether it carries risks comparable to those of establishing a Paleostinian state.

Minister Barkat stated: ''This is a governance model based on tribes, which has proven to be the most successful model in the Arab world. Any attempt not to rely on tribes falls apart, which is what could have happened if the Paleostinian Authority became a state. That's why we believe the Emirates model is an excellent alternative to a Paleostinian state that will never exist. The world asks what we support, and what we support is the Emirates model: a number of tribes spread across Judea and Samaria according to the model proposed by Dr. Mordechai Kedar.''

Barkat cites Hebron as an initial example for the plan, referencing recent statements by city leaders who seek to bring change to their lives. ''The sheikhs in Hebron, the largest city in Judea and Samaria, are ready to pursue this model. We met with them; they want to leave the Paleostinian Authority and join the Abraham Accords. They recognize Israel as the nation-state of the Jewish people, they fight alongside us against terror, and they want to return to the days before the First Intifada. This is a large city, and I am convinced that after success in Hebron, we will see other cities wanting to join this initiative.''

Schools in Pakistan promote hostility toward Jews and Israel, report finds
Part of a continuing series of investigations of school textbooks around the world.
[IsraelTimes] Jews are frequently accused of treachery and Israel is demonized in textbooks, education watchdog IMPACT-se says

Pak school textbooks contain widespread antisemitic content and demonization of Israel, according to a new report by The Institute for Monitoring Peace and Cultural Tolerance in School Education (IMPACT-se).

The reports contrasted sharply with IMPACT-se’s recent analyses of curricula in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Azerbaijan, which it found offered generally fair and even positive depictions of the Jewish people.
The education watchdog analyzed more than 80 textbooks across subjects like history, Islamic education, civics and Pakistain studies, from boards in Punjab
...1. Little Orphan Annie's bodyguard
2. A province of Pakistain ruled by one of the Sharif brothers
3. A province of India. It is majority (60 percent) Sikh and Hindoo (37 percent), which means it has relatively few Moslem riots
...
.
, Sindh, and the Federal Directorate. While some passages promote tolerance, the overall curriculum encourages hostility toward Israel, Jews and religious minorities in general, the report concluded.

The reports contrasted sharply with IMPACT-se’s recent analyses of curricula in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Azerbaijan, which it found offered generally fair and even positive depictions of the Jewish people.

In Pakistain, Jews are frequently depicted with negative stereotypes, accused of treachery and conspiracies, and often collectively referred to as "the Jews" without nuance, the report said. Judaism is excluded from comparative religion sections, while the Holocaust is omitted entirely.

One civics textbook praises Adolf Hitler
...late Fuehrer of Germany, founder of the Third Reich, currently communing with his pals Himmler and Heydrich. He is reincarnated every few days, sometimes every few hour if it's an election year, as a politician somebody doesn't like...
for "restoring German pride" while making no mention of Nazi atrocities, the report noted.

Israel is consistently framed as an enemy of the Moslem world and held solely responsible for the ongoing war in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
, the report found. A Grade 12 textbook, for example, described Israel’s current war with Hamas
..the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood,...
as the result of intensified Israeli aggression beginning on October 7, 2023, while omitting any reference to Hamas’s unprecedented terror attack against Israel that day.

Jews are typically mentioned in a hostile context, the report found. For example, a Grade 6 textbook claims Jewish tribes in Medina repeatedly conspired against the Prophet Muhammad, while a Grade 5 textbook uses the trope that Jews "caused Prophet Isa and his mother to suffer," accusing them of plotting against Jesus out of fear of losing authority.

"These narratives frame Judaism as inherently treacherous and promote intolerance," IMPACT-se said.

Meanwhile,
...back at the Alamo, Davy was counting their remaining cannon balls and not liking the results...
the curriculum paints a picture of Pakistain as "the vanguard of the Moslem world," positioning it in opposition to the West, which is accused of obstructing Moslem progress. Islamic values permeate even non-religious subjects, with jihad portrayed largely as armed struggle and a moral duty. The country’s nuclear status and leadership in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation are presented as part of a divinely inspired mission, the report said.

More than 96% of Pakistain’s population is Moslem, with 85-90% identifying as Sunni and 10-15% as Shia, it noted.

Pakistain’s rivalries, especially with India, are described in absolute moral terms like "enemy country," the report found, with the country’s conflict over control of Kashmir
...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there....
portrayed as a religious duty and a humanitarian struggle.

Democracy is idealized in theory, but minorities are marginalized despite claims of freedom, the report said. Gender equality is acknowledged in some instances, but often overshadowed by reinforcement of traditional roles. Authoritarian leaders like Hitler are praised.

"Given Pakistain’s prominent regional role, its nuclear status, and large percentage of young people in a population of 240 million, this curriculum has far-reaching consequences," said IMPACT-se CEO Marcus Sheff. "What is taught in classrooms today will define Pakistain’s future global outlook, including its relationship with Israel and the Jewish people. There is a pressing need for curriculum reform that prioritizes inclusion, greater respect for Jews and others, and a more peaceful education."

Previous investigations by IMPACT-se have found worrying trends in school curricula in European countries like Ireland and Poland. Recent reports on schools in Gaza and Syria have shown continued promotion of antisemitism, violence, and martyrdom within their educational systems.

Anti-Israel NY group seeks ‘justice’ for 1991 accident that sparked antisemitic riot
Not even pretending a little it has anything to do with the abused, suffering Palestinians. But I bet that somewhere in the mix are Black Bloc/BLM cadres…
[IsraelTimes] Crown Heights activists blame ‘Zionist White supremacists’ for car collision death 34 years ago, raising fears of renewed racial turmoil in neighborhood

A Brooklyn activist group on Monday announced a vigil seeking "justice" for a child killed in a 1991 car accident, a death that sparked days of anti-Jewish riots in the neighborhood of Crown Heights.

The announcement reignited fears of racial turmoil in the area, the home base of the Chabad-Lubavitch Hasidic movement.

The group, Crown Heights Bites Back, said "Zionist White supremacists from Chabad-Lubavitch brutally killed" the child, Gavin Cato, 7, and injured his cousin.

"We are yet to receive justice for these children," the group said in a statement. Several other New York activist groups shared the announcement on social media.

Ahead of the 1991 Crown Heights riots, a vehicle in the motorcade of Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, the revered leader of Chabad, accidentally hit and killed Cato.

The accident and its aftermath incensed Black neighborhood residents and set off a days-long riot targeting Jewish residents of the area. Hours after the accident, a group attacked Yankel Rosenbaum, 29, killing him.

During the riots, attackers injured Jews, shouted "Heil Hitler
...late Fuehrer of Germany, founder of the Third Reich, currently communing with his pals Himmler and Heydrich. He is reincarnated every few days, sometimes every few hour if it's an election year, as a politician somebody doesn't like...
," looted stores, and damaged cars and homes that were identified by mezuzahs on their doors. The riots are often described as a pogrom and remain a scar for the Crown Heights Jewish community.

Tuesday’s vigil will take place at Utica Avenue and President Street, the scene of the accident that killed Cato and a few blocks from 770 Eastern Parkway, Chabad’s headquarters.

Crown Heights Bites Back stoked racial tensions between Black and Jewish neighborhood residents during a protest in April. Announcements for the rally also featured explicitly racial messaging that sought to pit Black and Jewish area residents against each other.

A group leader at that protest brought up the Crown Heights riots while addressing the crowd.

"This problem that we have going on is everybody’s problem. It’s not just a Paleostinian problem, it’s not just a Black problem," he said. "They don’t want us tying it together," he added. "In 1991, there was pandemonium, riots, the Crown Heights riots, look it up. They ran over two Black kids."

The April protest raised fears of another episode of racial turmoil in the neighborhood, although police kept the demonstrators away from Jewish areas.

The protest also came after several incidents have ignited tensions in the neighborhood.

In March, a Jewish man assaulted a Black man in a wheelchair during a sidewalk squabble over the Black man’s unleashed dogs. Crown Heights Jewish leaders condemned the incident and sought to de-escalate, but video of the altercation fueled outrage.

Shortly after, far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir made an unannounced visit to 770. Anti-Israel protesters gathered outside, chanting for an intifada and "resistance," and sparking outrage over the protest at the holy site.

Footage later emerged of Jewish youths pursuing a woman down a street and chanting "Death to Arabs" in Hebrew, and another individual in a keffiyeh with a bloodied face. Chabad community leaders condemned the harassment.

Crown Heights is home to large populations of Black and Jewish residents. Relations between the two groups are largely peaceful and community leaders from both sides have warm relationships.

Anti-Israel protests are common in New York City, but rare in Hasidic neighborhoods. Rallies in those areas have been especially caustic and concerning to Jewish community leaders, however.

Jewish community leaders in Crown Heights warned that Tuesday’s vigil again aimed to open racial conflict in the area.

"They are attempting to reignite tensions by exploiting the tragic car accident that claimed the life of Gavin Cato — an event that led to the Crown Heights riots and the antisemitic murder of Yankel Rosenbaum," said the Jewish Future Alliance, a neighborhood advocacy group.

"We have seen this dangerous pattern before. While this group may represent a fringe minority, history has shown that rhetoric like this fuels hatred and leads to real violence. It must be unequivocally condemned by all," the group said.

Crown Heights Bites Back also distributed antisemitic leaflets in the area, branding area Jews as "racist landlords" and shared support for the attacker who killed two Israeli embassy staffers in Washington, DC, earlier this year.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Syrian commission says over 300,000 may have gone missing under Assad family rule
[IsraelTimes] The head of Syria’s commission for missing persons says the number of people who went missing during decades of Assad family rule and the civil war may have exceeded 300,000.

Mohammed Reda Jalkhi, head of the commission created in May, says the body’s mandate ranged from 1970, the year Hafez al-Assad took power, to the present day and had no timeframe for completing its work.

“Our estimates of the number of missing range between 120,000 and 300,000 people, and it could be more,” he tells state news agency SANA.

Tens of thousands of people were detained or disappeared during the Syrian civil war alone, which erupted in 2011 after a brutal crackdown on anti-government protests by former president Bashar al-Assad, who was ousted in December 2024.

During the war, all sides were accused of atrocities, including the Islamic State jihadist group, which seized large swathes of Syria and neighboring Iraq, enforcing a strict interpretation of Islamic law and committing widespread abuses, including executions.

Bashar al-Assad ruled with an iron fist, like his predecessor, his father Hafez, who took power in a bloodless military coup.

The family’s rule was among the most brutal in the region, and its prison system, including feared sites such as Saydnaya, was notorious for disappearing people without a trace.

“We have a map that includes more than 63 documented mass graves in Syria,” he says, without providing details on where they were located, who dug them or who was thought to be buried there.

He says work was underway to establish a data bank for missing persons.

Syria’s new authorities have pledged justice for victims of atrocities committed under Assad’s rule.

US envoy: Israeli withdrawal from Lebanon ‘next step’ as Beirut agrees to disarm Hezbollah
[IsraelTimes] Hezbollah is refusing to give up its arms, but Barrack says he expects to see Israel fully withdraw from 5 strategic points it has held inside Lebanon since November ceasefire
If Hezbollah is not holding up its end of the deal, then Israel must not comply alone. What is wrong with President Trump’s emissaries, that they do not see this?
US envoy Tom Barrack on Monday called on Israel to honor commitments it made under a ceasefire that ended its war with Hezbollah, after the Lebanese government launched a process to disarm the terrorist organization.

Under the November truce agreement, weapons in Lebanon were to be held only by the state, and Israel was to fully withdraw its troops from the country, although it has kept forces at five border points it deems strategic.

However, Hezbollah is refusing to disarm. Last week, Hezbollah leader Naim Qassem threatened the Lebanese government over its efforts to disarm his Iran-linked terror group, claiming that there would be “no life in Lebanon” should its weapons be taken by force. He warned that Hezbollah would fight to keep its weapons, saying any forcible seizure would lead to internal unrest, undermining the country’s national security.

“I think the Lebanese government has done their part. They’ve taken the first step. Now what we need is Israel to comply,” Barrack said following a meeting in Beirut with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun.

Asked by reporters about whether he expected to see Israel fully withdraw from Lebanese territory, Barrack said that “that’s exactly the next step” needed.

To the US diplomat, “the next step is we need participation on the part of Israel, and we need an economic plan for prosperity, restoration and renovation” in Lebanon, which has been weighed down by dire political and economic crises in recent years.

Barrack said Washington was “in the process of now discussing with Israel what their position is,” adding that “in the next few weeks you’re going to see progress on all sides.”

“It means a better life for the people… and at least the beginning of a roadway to a different kind of dialogue” in the region, he said.

There was no immediate response from Jerusalem.

The US diplomat’s visit comes less than two weeks after Lebanon’s cabinet tasked the army with developing a plan to disarm Iran-backed Hezbollah by the end of the year — a step unprecedented since civil war factions gave up their weapons decades ago.

A second cabinet meeting on August 7 tackled a US proposal that includes a timetable for Hezbollah’s disarmament, with Washington pressing Lebanon to take action on the matter.

The cabinet endorsed the introduction of the US text, which lists 11 objectives, including “ensuring the sustainability” of the November ceasefire agreement with Israel, and “the gradual end of the armed presence of all non-governmental entities, including Hezbollah, in all Lebanese territory.”

Israel routinely carries out airstrikes in Lebanon saying that it is targeting ceasefire violations, and has signaled it would not hesitate to launch destructive military operations if Beirut failed to disarm Hezbollah.

Barrack on Monday stressed that “dealing with Hezbollah, as we’ve always said, is a Lebanese process.”

Israel and Hezbollah engaged in hostilities for over a year after the Lebanese terror group began firing at Israel, unprovoked, in solidarity with its ally Hamas and its massacre in southern Israel on October 7, 2023.

The rocket fire displaced some 60,000 residents of northern Israel. In a bid to ensure their safe return, Israel stepped up operations in Lebanon in September, leading to two months of open warfare with Hezbollah in which the terror group’s leadership and arsenal were decimated.

Syria is on fire again. Behind the raging elements, evil will is visible
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
by Leonid Tsukanov

[REGNUM] Fires caused by extreme heat have been raging in Syria for the second month.

As of mid-August, the area of territories affected in one way or another by the fire exceeded 2,700 square kilometers (approximately 1.5% of the country's territory).

And although the authorities appear to be gradually bringing the fire under control, miscalculations during the rescue operation risk worsening the already unfavourable domestic political situation and creating new points of tension.

Because those who want to use deliberate arson and destruction of the basis of existence of the Christian population to displace it, regardless of the consequences of their actions, are adding fuel to the fire.

THE FIRE IS COMING
The first fires were spotted in early July in the mountainous coastal province of Latakia.

Then, thanks to windy weather, the fire managed to spread over an area of over 10 thousand hectares in just a few days and pose a threat to several large settlements at once, including the provincial capital.

The fire later spread to the provinces of Tartus and Hama, destroying about a quarter of local crops. More than five thousand people, mostly farmers, suffered from the disaster.

It is noteworthy that aid to coastal residents from official Damascus was delayed by several days.

The authorities spent a lot of time planning the operation and assessing the resources that might be needed for it. However, once on the ground, it became clear that the calculations were wrong and the number of forces was insufficient to fight the fire.

As a result, for most of July, the initiative was on the side of the elements. Even when neighboring Türkiye joined the fight against the fire.

Today, the situation, at first glance, is a little better: according to the Minister of Emergency Situations and Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters Raed al-Saleh, the main source of the fires is still in Latakia, but its scale has decreased several times.

In addition, it was possible to stop the spread of fire in Hama and extinguish all major fires in the Tartus area.

More than fifty fire brigades are involved in the fight against the elements, with additional assistance from the Syrian military and militia, as well as volunteers from among local residents.

As Latakia Governor Mohammad Osman noted, in some cases the joint work of firefighters and local residents helped to “turn the tide” in favor of the people – for example, to protect the city of Kessab, populated mainly by Armenians, from fire.

ADD SOME OIL
Not all fires in Syria are natural in origin - some are created intentionally to speed up the spread of the elements.

For example, the terrorist group Saraya Ansar al-Sunna (banned in Russia) has been systematically setting fire to dry grass and bushes in the coastal provinces of Syria, in close proximity to populated areas, since mid-July.

The main target of the “fire attacks” are Alawite settlements – the group’s leadership has made no secret of the fact that it seeks to expel this minority from their places of residence and inflict maximum damage on them.

Similar tactics were also used by militants of the Islamic State (banned in Russia), who became more active after the fall of the Bashar al-Assad regime.

The latter organized arson not only in Alawite areas, but also in areas where Druze, Kurdish and Shiite minorities reside. For these purposes, the terrorists even created a joint squad of "pyromaniacs" responsible for organizing arson.

In addition to the radicals’ declared goal of “cleansing Syrian territory by fire” of “apostates,” controlled arson attacks solve another problem: to create additional pressure on Damascus and force the new authorities to spend more resources on stopping the catastrophe.

This, in turn, further increases mutual tensions between the new Syrian authorities and ethno-religious minorities.

NEW TENSIONS
Given the difficult internal political situation in Syria, any mistake by the authorities - be it a refusal to extinguish the fire or a late payment of compensation - is fraught with new popular unrest. Especially in those areas where the new leaders are not very welcome anyway.

The example of Kessab mentioned earlier is indicative.

Despite the fact that the Syrian authorities claim to have made a significant contribution to extinguishing the fires, local residents deny the involvement of government forces in extinguishing them.

For example, the rector of the Christian community of Kessab, Father Esai Eortekian, who enjoys great authority in the settlement, stated that Damascus ignored numerous requests for help under various pretexts, as a result of which only local youth were engaged in the fight against the elements.

Governor Osman, who had previously reported on successful cooperation with the Armenian community, also came under fire.

According to residents of Kessab, the governor of Damascus sabotaged the fight against the elements in the area where Armenians live, repeatedly redirecting fire brigades to other areas of Latakia. As a result, the Armenian settlements of Ekizolukh, Duzagach and Eskiuran, located near Kessab, were seriously damaged by the flames. Considering that along with the houses, crops and olive groves also burned down, locals saw this as signs of oppression and even genocide.

The example of the Armenian minority in this case is not unique. Similar complaints have previously been made by other communities living in areas engulfed in flames. Here and there, there have been reports of inaction by government firefighters, unauthorized blocking of roads, or damage to equipment.

The Internet is flooded with footage of Syrian Ministry of Emergency Situations employees allegedly dumping water into the soil instead of fighting the elements or refusing to respond to calls to “foreign” villages.

In some cases, this has led to increased autonomy for individual minorities.

In particular, residents of the Kurdish autonomy in Syria (the so-called "Rojava") decided to take matters into their own hands. When appeals to Damascus yielded no results, fire brigades formed by Rojava organized firefighting in the western regions of Syria. Moreover, in some cases, Kurdish rescuers had to go to the scene accompanied by machine gunners - due to the risk of clashes with the security forces of the new regime in "closed" areas.

The discord between Damascus and Rojava amid the elements threatens to slow down the integration of Kurdish militias into the ranks of the new armed forces. Especially since local politicians are vying with each other to say that the authorities have “abandoned” them, violating previous commitments.

At the same time, official Damascus tends to downplay the scale of the problem, calling cases of sabotage “isolated” and complaints from minorities “exaggerated.” This, however, does not contribute to defusing the situation.
