[CIS] Newly obtained ICE records reveal the sanctuary jurisdictions that have most frequently failed to allow ICE to take custody of deportable aliens who were jailed in those locations. Over the period covered by the records (October 1, 2022, to February 6, 2025), more than 25,000 detainers were declined by these jails, and in more than 1,400 instances the jails failed to give adequate notification to ICE to take custody of the aliens. Among the findings:
More than half of the declined detainers (52 percent) were refused by jails and prisons in California. The total number declined in California was 13,025.
Illinois, Virginia, Massachusetts, and Connecticut also had especially large numbers of declined detainers.
Detainers were declined by jails in 46 states and three U.S. territories (the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the Northern Marianas). Many of these states have state laws prohibiting sanctuary policies.
The jail with the highest number of declined detainers or insufficient notice to ICE was the main jail in Santa Clara County, Calif., which released nearly 3,000 criminal aliens during the period.
Cook County Jail in Illinois and Fairfax County Adult Detention Center in Virginia each also released more than 1,000 criminal aliens during the period.
A total of 72 criminal aliens with homicide convictions or charges were released during the period. The Illinois River Corrections Center and the Santa Clara County jails each released six convicted killers, and Stateville Correctional Center in Illinois released five.
[NY Post] Fredo Rueda: "I'm smart, not like people say, dumb. And I want respect"
One member of the armed mob accused of ambushing Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents at a Texas detention center on the 4th of July allegedly called her immigrant husband from jail to hide evidence from their home that contained "anti-government and anti-Trump documents," sources told The Post Wednesday.
Maricela Rueda allegedly called her husband, Daniel Rolando Sanchez Estrada, and directed him to tow her car from their Dallas home, which investigators believe was a "staging location" for the attack.
She allegedly also told her husband to do "whatever you need to do, move whatever you need to move at the house," according to court documents.
Surveillance photos appeared to show Sanchez Estrada carrying boxes to a car, where cops later found "a handwritten training, tactics, and planning documents for civil unrest with anti-law enforcement, anti-government, and anti-Trump sentiments."
He split time living at Rueda’s and his family’s homes, feds said. The alleged accomplice was a Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipient who was handed a green card during the Biden administration, Homeland Security sources told The Post.
The FBI arrested Sanchez Estrada Monday for conspiracy to tamper with evidence while the feds were conducting a search warrant.
The assailants allegedly wore military-style gear, including tactical vests, and launched fireworks at the detention facility near Dallas before spraying bullets at a local cop and unarmed federal agents, according to the criminal complaint filed Monday.
One suspect fired 20 to 30 rounds at two detention center employees, prosecutors said. A local cop for the town of Alvarado also took a gunshot to the neck and has since been released from the hospital, cops said.

On a jail phone? That is some seriously amateur criminal behavior, Maricela. You are never going to smash the State with chops like that.
Commentary by Russian military journalist Boris Rozhin.
[ColonelCassad] The Russian Foreign Ministry reported that after the Taliban came to power, the area of poppy crops in Afghanistan decreased by 14 times. Periodically they halt production to empty overflowing warehouses. Sometimes they stop to placate outside governments, others to punish locals by stopping their income…
This is essentially a repeat of the situation in the last year before the US aggression against Afghanistan. In 1999-2000, the Taliban negotiated international recognition and, against this background, sharply reduced the area under poppy crops. Heroin production in Afghanistan was then steadily falling.
But in 2001, aggression and occupation of Afghanistan followed. The area under poppy crops and heroin production began to grow rapidly, setting new records.
As soon as the Taliban returned to power, the situation of 2000-2001 began to repeat itself. On the question of who actually supported the growth of drug production in Afghanistan.
Russia, China and Iran had previously made it clear to the Taliban that the key to international recognition lay, among other things, in the issue of reducing drug production in Afghanistan. The Taliban are keeping their promises in this matter.
And this means that fewer drugs will flow to Central Asia, from Central Asia to Russia and from there to Europe.
[AFRICANEWS] Nigeria's opposition alliance blamed President Bola Tinubu for not being invited to the African summit in the White House on Wednesday, according to a statement by the opposition's Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi.
The newly formed opposition coalition, the African Democratic Congress (ADC), stated that Nigeria's absence from the meeting constituted a ''damning international indictment'' of the country's poor economic health and weak foreign policy under Tinubu, as reported by Nigeria's Vanguard media.
''Although we are Africa's largest economy, with the largest consumer market and the continent's most influential diaspora, the United States chose to bypass us in favour of nations which combined GDP is only a fraction of ours,'' Abdullahi said in the statement.
U.S. President Donald Trump ...dictatorial for repealing some (but not all) of the diktats of his predecessor, misogynistic because he likes pretty girls, homophobic because he doesn't think gender bending should be mandatory, truly a man for all seasons... will meet with the leaders of Gabon, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mauritania, and Senegal ... a nation of about 14 million on the west coast of Africa bordering Mauretania to the north, Mali to the east, and a pair of Guineas to the south, one of them Bissau. It is 90 percent Mohammedan and has more than 80 political parties. Its primary purpose seems to be absorbing refugees... in Washington from July 9 to 11.
Trade, investment and security will be the key topics for the summit as the Trump administration pivots to a 'trade not aid' development strategy in Africa.
It is unclear why Trump chose to invite the five relatively small West African states, but the day before the summit was announced, U.S Secretary of State Marco Rubio ...The diminutive 13-year-old Republican U.S. Senator from Florida, Secretary of State in the second Trump administration... said that American engagement in Africa would favour nations'' that have demonstrated both the ability and willingness to help themselves''.
As the largest economy and most populous country in West Africa, Nigeria's exclusion from Wednesday's meeting is noteworthy.
Diplomatic relations between the U.S and Nigeria have worsened in recent weeks culminating on Sunday when Trump on Truth Social announced an additional 10% tariff on Nigeria and other countries aligned with BRICS. In the post, the President criticised BRICS policies for being 'anti-American'.
In January, Nigeria joined the alliance of emerging economies as an official partner country. Speaking at the 17th BRICS Summit in Brazil earlier this week, President Tinubu called for ''a reevaluation of the current global governance structure'', in an assumed jab at the U.S.
Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi warned that the new BRICS tariff against Nigeria was evidence that the country's global reputation was slipping, noting that a few years ago, it would have been unthinkable that a meeting like Wednesday's would be held without Nigeria.
''It shows just how far our global standing has declined under this administration,'' he said.

[Breitbart] The Iranian-backed Houthis have continued firing ballistic missiles, sporadically, at Israel despite the ceasefire between Israel and Iran that took effect last month — and despite Israeli airstrikes against the rebels and their weapons.
The Houthis have also attacked international ships again, despite reaching a separate ceasefire with the United States earlier this year. The rebels, who have fought for years against the internationally-recognized government of Yemen, say they are fighting in solidarity with Hamas in Gaza, which Israel is still fighting.
The fact that Israeli pilots have been able to reach Yemen, refueling along the way, was thought of as an astonishing achievement when the Israeli Air Force first did it a year ago. But airstrikes alone have not been enough. Israel has likely depleted and degraded the Houthi missile supply — and reinforcements from Iran are unlikely. Still, the Houthis remain committed to attacking Israel, and are a threat to the whole region.
The Houthi slogan is “Allahu akbar, death to the United States, death to Israel, curse the Jews, victory for Islam.”
Saudi Arabia once led the fight against the Houthi rebels, before the Biden administration cut off support for that effort due to supposed human rights concerns. At the time, the Biden White House also wanted to entice Iran to renew talks toward a restoration of the 2015 nuclear deal.
The Israeli official said that Israel would not allow the Houthis to continue to threaten Israeli cities and Israeli shipping, and that it would have to lead the fight, following the American withdrawal from the conflict. But Israel could not supply the ground troops to finish the job, the official said. Rather, Israel would work with friendly Arab states to mount a ground attack.
Yemen is over 2,000 kilometers from Israel and the two countries have no common borders, though they are on opposite ends of the Red Sea. The Houthis attacked Israel with missiles and drones — and without any provocation.

[Regnum] Yemeni Houthis have claimed responsibility for the attack on the Greek cargo ship Eternity C, which sank in the Red Sea. This was stated by the rebels' military spokesman Yahya Saria on the Al Masirah TV channel.
The attack on the cargo ship was carried out using an unmanned boat, as well as six cruise and ballistic missiles.
"The Yemeni navy has attacked the Eternity C vessel, which was heading to the port of Umm al-Rashrash (the Arabic name for Eilat. - Ed.) in occupied Palestine. The attack was carried out using an unmanned boat, as well as six cruise and ballistic missiles," a Houthi spokesman said.
Earlier, as reported by the Regnum news agency, the dry cargo ship Eternity C, which was attacked by the Houthis, sank in the Red Sea. At least five people were rescued, another 15 are missing and are being sought.
At least two people on board were injured, including a Russian citizen whose limb was amputated.
[GEO.TV] Rescuers pulled seven crew members alive from the Red Sea on Wednesday and were searching for 14 still missing from the second of two freighters sunk within two days by suspected Iran's Houthi sock puppets ...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The legitimate Yemeni government has accused the them of having ties to the Iranian government. Honest they did. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews They like shooting off... ummm... missiles that they would have us believe they make at home in their basements. On the plus side, they did murder Ali Abdullah Saleh, which was the only way the country was ever going to be rid of him... attackers.
Four of the 25 people aboard the Eternity C fat merchantman were killed before the rest of the crew abandoned the vessel, which sank on Wednesday morning after being attacked on Monday and Tuesday, sources at security companies mounting the rescue said.
The seven seafarers who were rescued had spent more than 24 hours in the water, they said.
[GEO.TV] A Ottoman Turkish court has blocked access to Grok, the artificial intelligence chatbot developed by the Elon Musk-founded company xAI, after it generated responses that authorities said included insults to President Tayyip Erdogan.

Neither X nor its owner Elon Musk has commented on the decision.
Last month, Musk promised an upgrade to Grok, suggesting there was "far too much garbage in any foundation model trained on uncorrected data".
Grok, which is integrated into X, reportedly generated offensive content about Erdogan when asked certain questions in Ottoman Turkish, media said.

[Breitbart] Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) is escalating efforts to hold billionaire Neville Roy Singham accountable, urging the State and Treasury Departments to freeze his assets and visa as he evades a congressional investigation into his alleged ties to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and far-left extremist groups. Neville Roy Singham is married to Jodie Evans, who is a co-founder of the women's anti-war activist organization Code Pink
Luna announced the move in a post on X, claiming that Singham is refusing to respond to the committee’s letter. “Neville Singham—the billionaire communist with ties to the CCP, who funded the LA riots and used immigration & Mexicans as a Trojan horse for communism—is hiding from our letter requesting testimony,” she wrote. “Therefore, if he decides to hide in CHINA, we will now be asking the State Dept. and Treasury to freeze his assets/visa.”
Luna’s latest warning follows a June 13 letter from the House Oversight Committee to Singham requesting documents and testimony related to his alleged funding of extremist groups including the Party for Socialism and Liberation (PSL), the People’s Forum, and the ANSWER Coalition, all of which are accused of promoting civil unrest and echoing Chinese government propaganda. Every Republican member of the committee signed on to the inquiry.
While Senate Republicans, including Marco Rubio and Lindsey Graham, sounded the alarm on Singham’s activities last year, the Biden administration did not act. Luna has sharply criticized that inaction, contrasting it with President Trump’s deployment of federal forces to respond to the unrest in Los Angeles. She has described Neville Singham as a Marxist and George Soros as a globalist, arguing that both are working to destabilize the West and undermine Trump’s efforts
The committee warned that Singham’s actions may violate the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) and other federal laws, particularly if he is acting “at the behest of a foreign principal” to influence American public opinion or policy.
“Reportedly, you have supported these groups with the aim of causing destruction and division in our country,” the letter to Singham stated. It cited recent riots and violence in Los Angeles, which the committee said prompted President Trump to deploy the National Guard.
According to the committee, Singham’s support for far-left groups extends back decades and includes millions of dollars funneled through dark money nonprofits with virtually no public footprints. Nonprofit filings show nearly $1.8 million flowed from entities the committee identifies as part of Singham’s network to Maku Group, a Chinese media company whose offices prominently display a banner reading “Always Follow the Party” beneath an image of CCP General Secretary Xi Jinping.
The letter also cites reporting from the New York Times, which found Singham resides in the People’s Republic of China and has supported groups that “mix progressive advocacy with Chinese government talking points.” In 2019, he reportedly launched a consulting firm with Chinese partners “active in the propaganda apparatus” of the CCP.
The Oversight Committee’s letter warns that Singham’s suspected funding of the PSL and affiliated groups may be part of a broader CCP strategy known as the “Strategy of Sowing Discord,” a long-documented tactic of provoking internal strife within foreign adversaries. The letter underscores that if Singham is carrying out such a campaign on behalf of Beijing, he may be required to register under FARA.
Singham’s influence reportedly extends to groups tied to radical antisemitic movements, including Shut It Down for Palestine (SID4P), which was formed in 2023. According to the Network Contagion Research Institute, “Conveners” operating under the SID4P umbrella are listed as part of Singham’s donor portfolio. The House Oversight Committee noted that some of these organizations have ties to U.S.-designated foreign terrorist groups, such as the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP).
One such SID4P “endorser,” Samidoun, has been identified in open-source reporting as a front for the PFLP. The Oversight Committee is now seeking a briefing from Attorney General Pam Bondi on whether organizations funded by Singham may have violated FARA or acted on behalf of the Chinese Communist Party in connection with the recent unrest in Los Angeles.
In a separate letter to Bondi, the Committee listed nineteen groups under investigation for potential ties to Singham and the CCP, including Code Pink, the People’s Forum, Dongsheng News, BreakThrough Media, and the National Students for Justice in Palestine.
The House Oversight Committee, under its authority in House Rule X, continues to demand full compliance from Singham and is working to ensure the American people are informed about foreign influence operations that threaten national security.
[HOTAIR] Judge Hannah Dugan is the Milwaukee judge who was arrested for interfering with an attempt by ICE to arrest a criminal alien from Mexico named Eduardo Flores-Ruiz. Judge Dugan learned an arrest team was present in the courthouse, confronted them in the hallway and saw they had a warrant, but ordered them to go see the chief judge in his office.
While the team was occupied, she rushed through a court appearance and ushered Flores-Ruiz and his attorney out a side door not available to the public. Luckily there was one member of the arrest team still waiting in the hallway who got on the elevator with Flores-Ruiz. He was eventually arrested outside after he tried to flee on foot.
Judge Dugan was arrested by the FBI in April but has claimed, through her attorneys, that she was acting in her capacity as a judge when she interfered in the arrest. Last night a judge ruled against her request to dismiss the case against her.

[GEO.TV] Director General of the Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has once again called out India for using terrorism to suppress Pakistain's rise.
The DG ISPR said that India is acting as a "bully" and using terror cells and carrying out transnational killings in Pakistain.
"Who is the beneficiary [...] by these acts of terrorism in Pakistain. It is India. The strategy of India is to keep Pakistain embroiled in the menace of terrorism so that Pakistain's true potential is not realised," the military's spokesperson said in an interview with Al Jazeera.
Lt Gen Chaudhary said that the progress and prosperity was the destiny that the state owes the 250 million people of Pakistain but India does not want it to materialise.
He said that India wants the power differential between the two countries keep on increasing so that the it can act as "a regional hegemon and a bully" who can dictate its own terms.
This is the biggest strategy New Delhi has, he added.
[GEO.TV] Former foreign minister and Pakistain Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari rejected India's claims of patronising terrorist groups to conduct attacks outside of Pakistain.
In an interview with Indian journalist Karan Thapar, Bilawal said: "Pakistain does not willingly permit [—] the groups you mentioned or any group to conduct terrorist attacks outside of Pakistain but also within Pakistain."
Highlighting the country's losses during the war against terrorism, the PPP politician said that the world is well aware that Pakistain faced the brunt of terrorism over the past many decades.
"Pakistain is fighting and has been fighting the largest inland war against terrorism. We've lost 92,000 lives altogether. Just last year, we lost more than 1,200 civilian lives in more than 200 different terrorist attacks."
"At the rate at which terrorist attacks are taking place just this year alone, if they continue at this pace, this year will be the bloodiest year in Pakistain's history."
Recalling the liquidation of his mother and former premier Benazir Bhutto ... 11th Prime Minister of Pakistain in two non-consecutive terms from 1988 until 1990 and 1993 until 1996. She was the daughter of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, founder of the Pakistain People's Party, who was murdered at the instigation of General Ayub Khan. She was murdered in her turn by person or persons unknown while campaigning in late 2007. Suspects include, to note just a few, Baitullah Mehsud, General Pervez Musharraf, the ISI, al-Qaeda in Pakistain, and her husband, Asif Ali Zardari, who shows remarkably little curiosity about who done her in... , Bilawal said: "I too am a victim of terrorism. I feel the pain of the victims of the Pahalgam terrorist attack. I understand the trauma that their families are experiencing in a way more than many others can ever imagine."
He also elaborated on Pakistain's ongoing battle to root out the menace, saying: "Pakistain went through a process where we not only took military action against terrorist groups within Pakistain."
He said that in the previous Zardari's tenure, Pakistain conducted an operation in South Wazoo following Benazir's liquidation, and the next government conducted another operation in North Waziristan.

[Regnum] The Palestinian movement Hamas will release 10 Israelis held hostage. This was reported on July 9 by the movement's press service on the Telegram channel.
"Hamas has shown the necessary flexibility and agreed to the release of 10 prisoners as part of its interest in the successful progress of the ongoing negotiations," a statement issued during the talks in Doha said.
However, consultations continue on a number of issues, including the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza, the withdrawal of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and the provision of guarantees for a permanent ceasefire.

"I don't think that I can give any timeline at the moment, but I can say right now that we will need time for this," Qatar's foreign ministry front man Majed al-Ansari said as indirect negotiations continued into a third day in Doha.
Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was in Washington, meanwhile, on his third visit to the White House since Trump returned to power.
Trump, who is pushing for a ceasefire, expressed confidence that a deal could be reached, saying: "I don't think there is a hold-up. I think things are going along very well."
Qatar, a mediator along with the United States and Egypt, said the meetings in Doha were focused on a framework for the talks, while a Paleostinian official close to the negotiations said no breakthrough had been achieved so far.
Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff was set to join the talks in Doha this week.

[HOTAIR] Is that true? On American college campuses and in Big Apple mayoral primaries, Hamas seems to be thriving. In Gaza, however, the end may be nigh.
Yesterday, an unnamed Hamas security officer painted a grim picture about the status of the terrorist network for the BBC. Leaderless, disconnected, and just about out of ammo, the remnants of Hamas don't have many options left. In fact, this insider expects Israel to now finish the job, since there aren't many reasons for them to let up:
"Let's be realistic here - there's barely anything left of the security structure. Most of the leadership, about 95%, are now dead... The active figures have all been killed," he said. "So really, what's stopping Israel from continuing this war?"
"Logically, it has to continue until the end. All the conditions are aligned: Israel has the upper hand, the world is silent, the Arab regimes are silent, criminal gangs are everywhere, society is collapsing."...
"About the security situation, let me be clear: it has completely collapsed. Totally gone. There's no control anywhere," he said.
"People looted the most powerful Hamas security apparatus (Ansar), the complex which Hamas used to rule Gaza.
"They looted everything, the offices - mattresses, even zinc panels - and no-one intervened. No police, no security."

I'm not as keen on this as others might be. It opens the door for churches/synagogues/drum circles/whatever to push political narratives MUCH more strongly than they already do. I foresee sermons, 'actions', and possible use of their members' funds by some to further whatever their leadership 'elites' want to promote.
Whereas most religious groups are quasi-neutral now, and members from all political beliefs are generally accepted and not marginalized, the removal of the 'non-political' messaging or actions could prompt extreme alienation within the congregations and severe loss of membership. This loss is already happening to a lot of mainline churches that have currently restrained political leanings, although some seem to not care and have gone full-blown radical already (and suffering huge membership losses as a result, for why they don't recognize and just blame 'society').

It's just that the IRS hasn't been too concerned about those that have leaned to the Left before now.
... If we look earlier in the encyclical [titled 'Pascendi Dominici Gregis'], we find some statements which give us an insight into why the amalgam known as Modernism goes by this particular papal pejorative. In the third paragraph, the Holy Father says that the Modernists “lay the ax not to the branches and shoots, but to the very root, that is, to the faith and its deepest fibers.” There is, then, something fundamental to the heresy ... of Modernism being radical – in the literal sense of going to the radix (root) – in its denial of the faith. This is so because “[the Modernists’] whole system has been born of the alliance between faith and false philosophy,” a philosophy that fundamentally denies knowledge, the supernatural order, the stability of truth, the principle of non-contradiction, and the metaphysics of common sense. It lobotomizes the soul, as it were, between “knowing” on the one hand and “believing” on the other. The manifold results of this evil union between faith and an unworthy handmaid are the fruits of a tree which is corrupt at its very roots.

Qassem denied internal divisions within Hezbollah. "Usually, when there are wings, you can see them, right? Because they fly... I haven't seen any wings yet," he sarcastically said.
