More bodies discovered after Al-Shabaab Attack in Galmudug State Foiled
[SHABELLEMEDIA] The National Armed Forces of [Country] have discovered the bodies of 10 Lions of Islam linked to the recent attack on an army forward operating base in the Eldher district of Galmudug
...a semiautonomous region in central Somalia, bordering Puntland on the north. Galmudug is not trying to obtain international recognition as a separate nation, but rather considers itself autonomous within the larger Somali federalism, for what that's worth...
state.

This brings the total number of Lions of Islam killed in the operation to 60.
Is that a real number, or just another way to say many?
The attack on the army base was carried out by the al-Shabaab

murderous Moslem group, known for its murderous Moslem activities in the region. The National Armed Forces responded swiftly to the attack, successfully neutralizing a significant number of the assailants.

The discovery of the additional 10 bodies suggests that the military operation is ongoing and successful in tracking down the remaining terrorists.

The army continues to comb through the rural areas of Galmudug state to ensure that all remnants of the terrorist group are eliminated.

This operation is part of the ongoing efforts by the National Armed Forces to maintain security and stability in the region, which has been a hotspot for terrorist activities.

The government remains committed to protecting its citizens and ensuring that such attacks do not disrupt the peace and progress of the state.

The success of this operation is a testament to the dedication and effectiveness of the National Armed Forces in combating terrorism.

AFRICOM denies US airstrike killed Cuban doctors
[SHABELLEMEDIA] The U.S. military says it was not involved in the reported killing of two Cuban doctors whom the al-Shabaab
... the personification of Somali state failure...
bully boy group alleges died as a result of a U.S. Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
in Somalia in February.

The latest quarterly civilian harm assessment published by U.S. Africa Command, also known as AFRICOM, confirms that U.S. forces conducted an airstrike near the town of Jilib on February 15, but denies the strike resulted in the doctors’ deaths.

"On Feb. 17, 2024, the command received one (1) report of an online media source stating two (2) non-combatants were killed as a result of a U.S. military operation in the vicinity of Jilib, Somalia, on Feb. 15, 2024," the assessment read.

"The command completed a review of available information and assessed that the U.S. airstrike conducted on Feb. 15, 2024, did not result in civilian harm."

Without providing proof, al-Shabaab at the time said "the aerial bombardment" killed Assel Herrera and Landy Rodriguez. The two had been in the bully boys’ custody since April 2019, when they were kidnapped from Mandera County in northeastern Kenya.

The doctors were part of a medical team sent to Kenya by Cuba. al-Shabaab published an image purporting to show the body of one of the hostages. VOA Somali has not independently confirmed whether the Cuban doctors have died.

In addition, AFRICOM says it has completed an assessment of two other incidents this year — one January 25 in the vicinity of Galhareeri in Galmudug
...a semiautonomous region in central Somalia, bordering Puntland on the north. Galmudug is not trying to obtain international recognition as a separate nation, but rather considers itself autonomous within the larger Somali federalism, for what that's worth...
state and February 22 in Kurtunwaarey in Southwest state. U.S. airstrikes were blamed for causing multiple civilian injuries and fatalities. AFRICOM said the assessments determined that there were no U.S. military operations at the times and places reported.

AFRICOM said it had one open case in this quarter and information on it will be disclosed later this year.

"U.S. Africa Command takes all reports of possible civilian harm seriously and has a process to conduct thorough reviews and assessments using all available information," the assessment said. "The command remains committed to reviewing and assessing any reports of civilian harm."

#1  I think I don't have enough salt.

a review of available information

Five(5) years ago, two(2) bad guys(?) doing humanitarian work(?) were snatched by other bad guys, poss to tend to the health needs of those bad guys(of the second). They've been kept alive due to the value of their work(?).

Now somebody dies in a bombing, or a body was found, that may have been one of the doctors, but identification of scattered parts is difficult.

And apparently, the US only uses 'anti-badguy-military' ordinance, according to the AFRICOM news denier.

While digital-bits are small and plentiful, in analysis of the (non)event, considerably more bio-bits (already in short supply) have been wasted considering this report.

El Fasher conflict forces mass displacement, as humanitarian crisis deepens
[SUDANTRIBUNE] A mass exodus of civilians from El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur State, to the town of Tawila, 60 kilometres west, is underway as the conflict between the Sudan
...a Moslem country located in the Horn of Africa. It is noted for its affinity for rule by ex- or current generals, its holy men, and for the oppression of the native Afro population by its Arab conquerors. South Sudan, populated mostly by the natives, split off from Sudan proper, which left North and South Darfur to be oppressed by the guys with turbans...
ese army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) intensifies. Those fleeing have recounted harrowing experiences of escalating violence and dire living conditions.

For almost a month, fierce battles have raged between the Sudanese army, supported by allied armed movements, and the RSF. The conflict has resulted in hundreds of casualties and triggered a massive wave of displacement, with an estimated 28,000 people fleeing their homes between May 24 and June 3.

Adam Rajal, spokesperson for the General Coordination of Displaced Persons and Refugee Camps in Darfur, confirmed that thousands of displaced individuals arrived in Tawila and surrounding villages on Monday.

The situation in Tawila is dire, with a spokesperson for the Displaced Persons Shelter Committee reporting severe shortages of food, medicine, water, and shelter.

According to Sudan Tribune, Tawila was previously under army control but has since been taken over by the Sudan Liberation Movement, led by Abdel Wahid Nur, to protect those fleeing the fighting.

An official from the Shelter Committee, affiliated with the Sudan Liberation Movement’s civil authority, stated that the influx of displaced people has overwhelmed the town’s resources, exacerbating existing shortages and driving up prices.

The region also lacks adequate medical services, with the only hospital in Tawila facing a critical shortage of supplies.

Video testimonies collected by the General Coordination of Displaced Persons and Refugee Camps reveal the harrowing experiences of those fleeing El Fasher. They describe daily shelling, ongoing battles, looting, and the loss of essential necessities.

Houthis claim attack on merchant ship in Red Sea off Yemen
[GEO.TV] Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi rebels on Wednesday claimed an attack on a merchant ship in the Red Sea, part of an ongoing campaign they say is an act of solidarity with Palestinians.

The Houthis have launched scores of drone and missile attacks on shipping in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden since November, after Israeli forces entered inside Gaza.

They have said they are harassing the vital trade route in support of Palestinians during the Israel-Hamas war in the Gaza Strip.

Israeli forces kill two Palestinians, seize weapons in West Bank raid
[GEO.TV] Israeli forces raided a town in the occupied West Bank on Thursday, killing two Palestinians and detaining several others in what the army described as an operation to preempt militant attacks.

The West Bank, among territories where Palestinians seek statehood, has seen a surge in violence since the outbreak of the war between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

During the raid in Qabatiya, troops surrounded a building where two gunmen were holed up, exchanging fire with them, the army said. The two Palestinians were killed and witnesses saw the body of one of them being lifted out by an armoured bulldozer.
