Sudan’s army says that they have killed the central commander of Darfur of the Sudanese paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF), Ali Yagoub Gibril
[PUBLISH.TWITTER]

Sudan
...a Moslem country located in the Horn of Africa. It is noted for its affinity for rule by ex- or current generals, its holy men, and for the oppression of the native Afro population by its Arab conquerors. South Sudan, populated mostly by the natives, split off from Sudan proper, which left North and South Darfur to be oppressed by the guys with turbans...
’s army said on Friday it had killed Ali Yagoub Gibril, a senior commander for the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) who was under US sanctions, during a battle in the besieged north Darfur city of al-Fashir.

There was no immediate comment from the RSF.

Gibril was a leading commander for the RSF in al-Fashir, the last major city in the Darfur region of Sudan that the paramilitary force does not control.

The army said in a statement Yacoub was killed as an RSF attack was thwarted early on Friday by its troops and allied "joint forces" fighting alongside it - a reference to non-Arab former rebel groups from Darfur that are aligned with the army.

The RSF has been besieging al-Fashir, a city of 1.8 million people, for weeks and top UN officials have warned that the worsening conflict there could trigger widespread intercommunal violence.

The UN Security Council called on Thursday for a halt to the siege.

War between the army and the RSF erupted over conditions for a transition to democracy in mid-April last year in the capital Khartoum, soon spreading to other parts of the country.

The conflict has led to the world’s largest displacement crisis, renewed ethnic violence in Darfur blamed on the RSF and its allies, and a sharp increase in extreme hunger.

Foreign Workers Injured in Libyan Capital Explosion

The incident occurred near the al-Khili Mosque in Ain Zara. The injured workers were taken to the hospital for necessary medical treatment.

Local authorities are currently securing the area and investigating the incident to prevent similar future occurrences.

Osama Ali, spokesperson for the Ambulance and Emergency Service, confirmed the injuries, highlighting the critical condition of one of the workers.

Since the end of the 2019 war in South Tripoli, the region has been significantly affected by war remnants, including landmines and unwent kaboom! ordnance.

Libya’s economy, heavily reliant on oil, has suffered due to the ongoing conflict. The instability has led to fluctuations in oil production and prices, impacting the global oil market and Libya’s economy.

The conflict has led to a significant humanitarian crisis in Libya, with thousands of people killed, and many more displaced. Migrants and refugees using Libya as a transit point to Europa

have also faced dire conditions.

The planned elections for December 2021 were delayed due to disagreements over election laws and the eligibility of certain candidates. This delay has raised concerns about the feasibility of a peaceful political transition.

Despite the ceasefire, security remains a significant concern with sporadic fighting and the presence of mercenaries and imported muscle. The unification of the military and the removal of foreign forces are crucial challenges.

"The naval, missile, and UAV forces of the Yemeni Armed Forces carried out a specific military operation targeting the ship "Tutor" in the Red Sea, using an unmanned surface boat, number of drones, and ballistic missiles," Yemen’s military front man Brigadier General Yahya Sare’e, said in a televised statement on Wednesday night.

"The operation led to the ship being seriously damaged and vulnerable to sinking, thanks to Allah. The ship was targeted because the company that owns the ship has violated the decision to ban entry into the ports of occupied Paleostine," Brigadier General Yahya Sare’e explained.

Furthermore, the Yemeni Armed Forces carried out two joint military operations alongside the Iraqi Islamic Resistance®, he added.

"The first operation used winged missiles that struck critical target in Ashdod, while the second used drones against a key target in Haifa. Both operations have successfully achieved their objectives," the military front man further explained

According to Sare’e, the Yemeni Armed Forces warn all companies of the consequences of dealing with the Israeli enemy and of the arrival of their ships to the ports of occupied Paleostine, lest they will be targeted in the area of operations of the Armed Forces, as previously announced.

Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews They like shooting off... ummm... missiles that they would have us believe they make at home in their basements. On the plus side, they did murder Ali Abdullah Saleh, which was the only way the country was ever going to be rid of him...
murderous Moslems has been evacuated, and the abandoned ship is drifting in the Red Sea, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations said on Friday.

One sailor from Tutor, the Liberia-flagged coal carrier, remains missing, officials in the Philippines said.

The attack near the Yemeni port of Hodeidah on Wednesday caused severe flooding and damage to the engine room and left Tutor unable to maneuver.

Iran-aligned Houthis grabbed credit for the missile attack on Tutor and another vessel, Verbena, in the Gulf of Aden, over the past days.

Tutor’s 22 crew members are mostly Filipino, Hans Cacdac, the Philippines’ Department of Migrant Workers secretary, told a presser in Manila. Philippine President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr said the country’s authorities were coordinating with the UKMTO to take the crew members to Djibouti and bring them home.

The missing crew member was believed to be trapped in the engine room, maritime sources said.

"We are still ... trying to account for the particular seafarer in that ship. We are praying we could find him," Cacdac said.

The ship’s Athens-based manager Evalend Shipping has not responded to Rooters’ requests for comment.

Tsavliris Salvage Group has been assigned to tow the ship, which is carrying 80,000 tons of coal, a source with knowledge of the matter told Rooters. The project will involve two vessels. The first is expected to reach Tutor on Monday morning and the second on Tuesday evening.

The Houthis’ air and sea assaults have disrupted global shipping, causing delays and costs to cascade through supply chains. At least 65 countries and major energy and shipping companies — including Shell SHEL.L, BP BP.L, Maersk MAERSKb.CO and Cosco — have been affected, according to a report by the U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency.

INTERCARGO, which represents dry fat merchantman owners, urged states to enhance maritime security in the area.

Houthis strike cargo ship in Red Sea with cruise missiles, seriously wounding civilian

Yemen

’s Houthi rebels launched two anti-ship cruise missiles and struck a commercial ship Thursday in the Gulf of Aden off Yemen, setting it on fire and severely wounding one civilian mariner, authorities said. The M/V Verbena was still ablaze and the mariner was flown by a US helicopter based on the USS Philippine Sea to another nearby ship for medical treatment, the US military’s Central Command said.

In a statement, Central Command said the Verbena is a Palauan-flagged, Ukrainian-owned and Polish-operated bulk cargo carrier that had docked in Malaysia and was on its way to Italia carrying wood. "The M/V Verbena reported damage and subsequent fires on board. The crew continues to fight the fire," the statement said.

Earlier Thursday, the British military’s United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations center said a vessel had been attacked and had caught fire. And the private security firm Ambrey said a merchant vessel made a radio distress call saying it had been struck by a missile.

The Houthis later claimed the attack on the Verbena, as well as attacks on two other ships in the Red Sea. Central Command said the Houthis had launched two ballistic missiles in the Red Sea that caused "no injuries or significant damage."

The UKMTO said one vessel earlier missed by the Houthis was hit by a "third projectile" that caused "minor damage." The vessel was able to remain underway, it said.

The attack on the Verbena followed the Houthis launching a boat-borne kaboom against a commercial ship in the Red Sea on Wednesday.

Central Command also said it destroyed a Houthi drone boat and two patrol boats in the Red Sea, as well as one airborne drone.

A security official in the province reported that the warplanes targeted the al-Salif district with three raids.

These attacks come hours after Washington and London committed new crimes in Yemen, as a result of warplanes targeting Raymah Radio and the government complex in al-Jabayn district in Raymah province with two raids, leaving five civilians injured, one of them seriously.

On Wednesday, the fighter jets waged three strikes on Hodeida, including a raid on the al-Jabbana area, west of the city, and two others on al-Tuhayta district.

Observers believe that these aggressive attacks on Yemen by America and London are a desperate attempt to stop Yemen from continuing its decision to prevent Zionist ships from passing through the Red Sea and Indian Ocean, in support of the Paleostinian people in the Gazoo

Kyrgyzstan says it had arrested 15 suspected supporters of ISIS
[PUBLISH.TWITTER]

Kyrgyzstan on Friday said it had arrested 15 suspected supporters of ISIS — a growing concern in Central Asian countries following a March attack in Moscow claimed by the terrorist group.

"The state committee for national security has ended the activities of a clandestine radical group, whose members were actively promoting [ISIS] ideology," the Kyrgyz security service said in a statement.

"In total, 15 people were arrested in the capital Bishkek and around the country," the security service said, adding that "one of the leaders of the group was under the orders of a member of [ISIS] in Afghanistan," known as Khorasan.

The ISIS offshoot has been classified by the United Nations
...a lucrative dumping ground for the relatives of dictators and party hacks...
as "the biggest terrorist threat in Afghanistan and Central Asia" and is one of the main security challenges for countries in Central Asia that border Afghanistan.

This concern has increased following a mass shooting attack claimed by Khorasan on March 22 in Moscow in which at least 144 people were killed — the biggest corpse count in an attack in Russia since 2004.
That’s the one that took place in Crocus City Hall.
After initially accusing Ukraine, Russian authorities in the end put the blame on the ISIS and arrested the Tajik suspects.

Kyrgyzstan is a secular country with a Moslem majority where there are frequent waves of arrests of murderous Moslems — particularly in the more religious south of the country.

In Afghanistan, the security situation has improved since the return of the Taliban

to power in 2021. But some gangs, including Khorasan, continue to claim attacks.

Israeli-deployed AI in Gaza likely helps IDF reduce civilian casualties, expert says
[FoxNews] Target identification, tunnel mapping, drone swarms allow IDF to navigate unknown terrain

After loudly touting the use of artificial intelligence (AI) during their 11-day conflict against Hamas in 2021, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have been fairly tight-lipped about the AI systems they've employed in the post-Oct. 7 Gaza battlespace.

Numerous media outlets have speculated that Israel’s AI platforms are being used recklessly, but Blaise Misztal, Vice President for Policy at the Jewish Institute for National Security of America (JINSA), told Fox News Digital that he believes Israel is using AI-powered drone swarms, mapping drones and targeting systems as a means to minimize civilian casualties as they seek out Hamas terrorists hiding among the populace or holed up in tunnel systems laced beneath civilian architecture.

Misztal says that available evidence implies drones are a "near constant companion for ground troops as they’re maneuvering through Gaza," with the IDF telling JINSA researchers that "each unit has its own mini-Air Force" supporting troop movements.

A number of AI-powered drones may be mapping the underground tunnels built below Gaza, or protecting those who are traversing them as they seek out terrorists or hostages. Iris, a ground-based, throwable unit manufactured by Elbit Systems "can enter small and confined spaces, above or underground, to explore hazardous areas while relaying intelligence and reconnaissance information in real-time."

Ghost Robotics manufactures the Vision-60, a ground drone that it says can "continuously push the limits to improve its ability to walk, run, crawl, climb, and eventually swim in complex environments" to "keep our warfighters, workers, and K9s out of harm’s way."

Xtend UAV systems are also deployed in the Gaza theater after initially being developed to target Hamas’ incendiary balloons attempting to enter Israeli airspace. Xtend’s Griffon Counter UAV can be used to find and kill rogue drones, an important task as Iran and its proxies have deployed or trained to deploy drones against Israel.

The capability to "be deployed in parallel" may be a reference to the utilization of drone swarms, groups of drones which communicate with one another to carry out a directive using AI rather than human operators. Drone swarms were used in 30 sorties during Israel’s 2021 war, the Times of Israel reported. They helped Israel identify rocket launch sites used by Hamas.

The main AI-empowered devices helping Israel avoid unnecessary civilian casualties are targeting systems known as "Gospel" and "Lavender." While numerous media outlets have reported on these targeting systems, Misztal says many have "fundamentally misunderstood" how they work. Onlookers have described these AI systems as having the ability to both determine and engage targets. Misztal says that the targeting systems have a "man-machine loop," in which first a human analyst, and then an IDF lawyer, decide whether a target receives final approval.

Jonathan Conricus, Senior Fellow at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies and former IDF spokesman, also told Fox News Digital that "while the reliance on AI and technology is growing, Israeli policy mandates human decision-making at main junctions."

According to Misztal, the "Gospel" system identifies hard targets like "buildings, weapons storage facilities, and rocket launchers," while the "Lavender" system utilizes facial recognition to identify Hamas leaders and fighters.

The real boon in utilizing these targeting systems is their ability to sift through the "constant streams of data" collected by Israel’s multitude of air and ground assets, including the new AI-enabled Oron spy plane. Learned patterns help the systems determine likely targets. "If you can bring in the precision that machine learning enables you to do rather than just having human eyes on it, that is helpful in narrowing down what are likely targets, and minimizing mistakes," Misztal said.

Data from Gospel and information derived from AI-powered mapping drones have likely allowed the IDF to avoid situations like one Misztal said they encountered in 2021 while fighting Hamas from the air. According to Misztal, an Israeli bomb strike on a poorly-constructed tunnel resulted in the collapse of the residential building built atop the tunnel, causing civilian casualties.

With ground troops now engaged and tunnel networks better understood, Misztal says the IDF is able to "find strategic intersections between tunnels" that they can "block so that they become unusable" without causing possible collapse of civilian structures atop the terror hideouts. "That mapping process allows them to be much more precise," Misztal concluded.

Misztal believes Lavender’s utilization shows how much care Israel takes to keep civilians from the battlespace. "We’ve heard of Israel using facial recognition technology as they’re screening people, civilians who are moving between different parts of Gaza" when the IDF "is creating safe zones and telling people to evacuate, and guarding them while they evacuate because Hamas wants to keep them from leaving their homes so that they can remain as human shields," he said. Facial recognition in these situations allows the IDF "to make sure that those protection measures are not being exploited by Hamas fighters."

Despite remaining mostly quiet about their use, Misztal said Israel’s use of its array of AI-powered systems has "become a normalized part of their operating process" since 2021. When facing a new kind of war after Oct. 7, Misztal said the IDF "told JINSA researchers about how they were uncertain of what they would find on the ground" in Gaza, "but as they got better at understanding the layout, as they got better at deploying their assets, like drones and other surveillance capabilities, they became much more capable of operating surgically."

The Associated Press last week released a report that corroborates Misztal’s observation that utilizing AI has led to lower civilian casualties. Through an analysis of Gaza Ministry of Health data, long questioned by researchers, the AP found that the "proportion of Palestinian women and children being killed in the Israel-Hamas war appears to have declined sharply." The AP admitted that the shift "went unnoticed for months by the U.N. and much of the media."

In addition to reducing casualties, AI has enabled a high level of operations that would otherwise require vast amounts of human capital. According to Conricus, "Without the extensive use of tech and AI to automate and streamline complex or resource intense processes, Israel would need to multiply its intelligence collection and control infrastructure, which is frankly not a viable option. Thus, AI and advanced tech allows Israel to face the multitude of threats within existing manpower and resource limitations."

[MSN-DPA] A man has attacked several people at a private European Championship party in a small town in northern Germany and seriously injured three of them.

The incident happened in Wolmirstedt, in the state of Saxony-Anhalt.

According to the public prosecutor's office in nearby Magdeburg, he is said to have first stabbed another man at another location. The attacker was shot dead by officers on Friday evening.

The Volksstimme and Bild newspapers reported that the man had used a knife to attack his victims. The public prosecutor's office told dpa that the first person to be attacked was a young man, who was stabbed on a residential street.

The assailant then passed by a private football party being held in a family home and attacked several more people there.

The group was watching the opening match of the European Championships between Germany and Scotland.

Police officers were quickly on the scene and they shot the attacker. According to the public prosecutor's office, the man later died in hospital from his wounds.

Law enforcement has yet to comment on a possible motive.
More from MSN:
German police shot to death an Afghan man after he fatally attacked a compatriot and later wounded three people watching the televised opening game of the Euro 2024 soccer tournament in eastern Germany, police said Saturday.

The 27-year-old Afghan citizen first attacked a 23-year-old compatriot with a “knife-like object” in Wolmirstedt, a small town about 130 kilometers (80 miles) west of Berlin, on Friday evening, police said. The victim later died of his wounds.

The man later attacked a group of people watching the soccer game between Germany and Scotland in the yard of private house, injuring three German men, two of them seriously, police said.

Police said the assailant, still armed with the same object, also attacked officers called to the scene. Two of the officers shot and wounded the man, who died soon after in a hospital.

Police said the motive for the attacks was unclear. The Interior Ministry in Saxony-Anhalt state, which includes Wolmirstedt, said police had increased their presence across the state. The soccer tournament is taking place in cities across Germany and runs through July 14.

#1  As for the motive:

Death in Jihad is a get out hell free card in Islam.

No matter previous sins, the murder of a fellow Muslim being a very grave sin, a Muslims who is killed in Jihad will ascend directly to paradise.

#3  Der Spiegel, translated:

After the brutal knife attacks on Friday evening in the city of Wolmirstedt in Saxony-Anhalt, the police have published the first findings on the crime. According to this, the perpetrator is a 27-year-old Afghan. According to SPIEGEL information, the German security authorities had not yet noticed him in connection with terrorist or radical activities. "Currently, there is no evidence of a religiously motivated act or a different motivation," says the police.

The man first struck in an apartment building: There he attacked a 23-year-old Afghan. The victim succumbed to his injuries in the evening. Further details on the background of the attack on the young man are not yet known.

According to the police, the 27-year-old is said to have initially moved "aimlessly" through Wolmirstedt. Shortly after 9 p.m. he struck again. In a single-family house settlement, several people had gathered for a private party to see the opening game of the European Championship, the "Mageburger Volksstimme" reports of a celebration in the garden. The man attacked several guests there and seriously injured a 50-year-old German and a 75-year-old German. Another man, 56 years old, was slightly injured. The perpetrator fled.

According to "Magdeburger Volksstimme", the attacker is said to have previously threatened people with a knife in the opposite allotment garden. Eyewitnesses had informed the police.

The officials are reportedly said to have arrived in the single-family house settlement around 9.30 p.m. According to the police, the perpetrator attacked the emergency services with a "knife-like object", two officers shot at him. A short time later, he died in the hospital.

Saxony-Anhalt's Interior Minister Tamara Zieschang pointed out that the police presence in the country was increased after the incident. In addition, "extensive and concentrated" investigations were underway; they are led by the responsible public prosecutor's office in Magdeburg and the Stendal Police Inspectorate. Wolmirstedt is a small town with around 12,000 inhabitants north of Magdeburg.

Debate on Islamists after attack in Mannheim
Since a knife attack in Mannheim two weeks ago, politics and society have been debating how to deal with Islamists . The 25-year-old Afghan had injured six people on the Mannheim market square. He attacked five participants in a rally of the Islam-critical movement Pax Europa. He rammed the blade into the neck and head of a rushed policeman, the 29-year-old man died in the hospital. At a funeral service in Mannheim on Friday, thousands of people said goodbye to the official, including Federal Minister of the Interior Nancy Faeser.

There are many indications that the perpetrator of Mannheim had an Islamist motive. This is also indicated by traces that he seems to have left on the Internet. His name appears on a YouTube channel that used the Taliban flag as a profile picture and published Islamist videos. Whether he operated the channel himself is unclear.

From his environment it is said that the assassin of Mannheim may also have been mentally ill. According to SPIEGEL information, however, he is said to have prepared the attack and deleted communication from his mobile phone, for example.

#4  "not yet noticed him in connection with terrorist or radical activities"

Again, by Western standards the Afghan moral and legal consensus is "radical" and hostile because under that consensus the exercise of basic human and civil rights is a death penalty offense.

That is true for the current Taliban regime as well as for "liberated" Afghanistan before 2021.

#6  No, no. The obvious answer to crimes like this is to ban knives. If banning guns stops people from shooting others, banning knives will stop them from stabbing others.

Iraq denies Hashd al-Shaabi behind attacks on KFC in Baghdad
11-06-2024
[Rudaw] Iraq’s foreign ministry said on Tuesday that the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF, or Hashd al-Shaabi) were not behind the recent attacks on several KFC franchises in Baghdad, days after Washington accused the group of engaging in violent mostly peaceful activities.

"The attacks that took place on some restaurants were carried out by outlaw groups and do not in any way represent Hash al-Shaabi," the Iraqi foreign ministry said in a statement without mentioning the names of the restaurants.

US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller told Rudaw in a press briefing on Thursday that "We do remain concerned that individuals within the PMF are not responsive to the Iraqi commander in chief and engage in violent mostly peaceful and destabilizing activities in Iraq and Syria."

The Iraqi ministry described Miller’s remarks as "inaccurate information."

American and British companies in Baghdad, including KFC and Caterpillar, have been the target of a series of attacks in recent days, and have been subject to boycott calls over their alleged links to Israel.

Security forces have arrested several people, including their own members in relation to the attacks.

The US embassy recently warned that attacks on foreign businesses in Baghdad "could weaken Iraq’s ability to attract foreign investment," and condemned the attacks.

Iraq is a staunch supporter of the Paleostinian cause and has on several occasions condemned the lack of global support for justice for Paleostinians.

[Rudaw] Iraq’s interior ministry on Wednesday announced the arrest of a new batch of assailants who targeted American and foreign businesses in Baghdad, adding that security services are pursuing the remaining suspects.

“The security services in the Ministry of Interior through qualitative operations arrested a new group of defendants in incidents of attacks and vandalism that affected KFC restaurants and foreign businesses in various areas,” the ministry said in a statement.

Iraq arrests assailants of American businesses in Baghdad

[Rudaw] Iraq’s interior ministry on Tuesday announced the arrest of a number of assailants who targeted American and foreign businesses in Baghdad, adding that several attackers belong to the security forces.

American and British companies in Baghdad, including KFC and Caterpillar, have been the target of a series of attacks in recent days, and have been subject to boycott calls over their alleged links to Israel.

“After collecting accurate information, the names and places of work and residence of the perpetrators were determined and an arrest warrant was issued by the investigative judge,” said an Iraqi interior ministry statement.

The suspects were arrested under Article Four of the Anti-Terrorism law, the statement said.

According to Article Four of the 2005 Counter-Terrorism Law, anyone found guilty of committing a terror offense is given a death sentence, with life imprisonment given to those who assist or hide those convicted of terrorism.

The attacks resulted in material damage but no injuries.

ISIS kills 19 regime soldiers in Syria Wednesday amid combing operation, 2 more toes up Tuesday
[Rudaw] At least 19 Syrian regime soldiers were killed on Wednesday in separate deadly Islamic State

They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. (ISIS) attacks in the desert, a war monitor said, amid a large-scale combing operation by Damascus against the jihadists.

"16 members of regime forces, including a high-ranking officer, were killed after entering a minefield and being attacked by ISIS members while regime forces were on a combing mission in Sukhna desert in Homs," said the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a Britannia-based war monitor.

Damascus, with Russian air support, has been carrying out an expansive sweeping operation in areas where ISIS remains active, with a recent rise in deadly jihadist attacks killing many Syrian government soldiers, as well as pro-regime National Defense Forces (NDF) fighters.

In a separate attack later on Wednesday, ISIS button men killed "three members of the regime forces, including an officer," in the Homs desert and injured two others, the Observatory said.

The jihadists have killed at least 46 people, including 32 Syrian army soldiers and six civilians, in areas controlled by the Syrian government in eight days, according to the Observatory

ISIS IED kills two pro-regime fighters in central Syria: Monitor

[Rudaw] Two members of a pro-Syrian government militia were killed on Tuesday after being struck by an IED planted by Islamic State

(ISIS) members in Syria’s central Hama province, a conflict monitor reported.

"Two members of the National Defense Forces [NDF] militia were killed and three others were maimed as a result of an IED explosion planted by ISIS members," said the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a UK-based war monitor.

The fighters were struck by the IED as their vehicle passed over the explosive in the eastern countryside of Syria’s Hama province, the monitor added.

The attack comes amid a large-scale sweeping operation by Damascus in areas where the bully boy group remains active. Attacks by ISIS in Syria have been on the rise recently, especially in the vast expanses of its eastern and northern deserts amid a security vacuum.

On Monday, three Syrian army soldiers were killed in an ambush by ISIS button men in the central province of Homs.

Two days prior, five members of a pro-Syrian regime militia were killed in another ISIS attack in Homs.

SDF announces capture of 2 ISIS members in east Syria
[Rudaw] The Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) on Thursday announced the capture of two suspected members of the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(ISIS) accused of planning acts of terror in northeast Syria (Rojava).

"On June 12th, our SDF Commando forces conducted a successful security operation in al-Shuhail town, Deir Ezzor’s eastern countryside. The operation targeted a dangerous terrorist cell of ISIS consisting of two forces of Evil who were involved in numerous terrorist acts in the area," read a statement from the SDF.

The two individuals were involved in attacks against the Kurdish-led force and civilians in Rojava, according to the SDF.

"Their involvement included planning and participating in bombings, planting IEDs, and carrying out liquidations, particularly within the Deir Ezzor countryside," the statement added.

ISIS rose to power and seized swathes of Iraqi and Syrian land amid a brazen offensive in 2014, declaring a so-called "caliphate".

In late March, the SDF warned that ISIS still poses a threat to the world and the region as its defeat "requires dismantling its ideological breeding ground."

"ISIS is still trying to recruit new terrorist elements, attempting to radicalize them into its ranks," said the SDF, calling on the international community to "collaborate effectively" with its forces.

Last year, the SDF arrested more than 350 ISIS members in areas they control.
