U.S. condemns RSF siege of El Fasher, warns external backers
[SUDANTRIBUNE] U.S. Ambassador to the UN, Linda Thomas-Greenfield, strongly condemned the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) for their siege of El Fasher and warned external backers against continued support to the warring parties.

On Friday, the Security Council held a private meeting to discuss Sudan’s complaint against the United Arab Emirates, which is accused of fuelling the conflict in Sudan and providing weapons and logistics to the paramilitary group.

In a statement released after the meeting, Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield condemned the RSF for their siege on El Fasher and their role in the deteriorating humanitarian situation.

“The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) continues to tighten its siege on El Fasher – stoking military escalation, cutting off critical lifelines, and inching closer to launching a large-scale massacre not seen since the conflict began,” she stated.

The U.S. ambassador underscored that Washington has already begun to impose sanctions on the group’s leaders responsible for these military operations.

“The RSF must pull back its forces from El Fasher or face further consequences,” she warned.

#3  That is an internecine struggle that pits the tribals of the west against the traditional Arab leaders of the Arab homeland of the Nile Region. It has happened before when the Mahdi came out of the West to take control of the Arab homeland. The British created the boundaries of the huge modern state of the Sudan, and the nation lasted for more than a century. It is now falling apart, but no one seems to have the foggiest idea what should replace it.

Fifth Column
In poll, 70% of New Yorkers say anti-Israel campus protests ‘went too far’
[IsraelTimes] Clear majorities of respondents say they back peaceful pro-Palestinian demonstrations and ‘an immediate ceasefire,’ but 61% feel the protests ‘crossed the line into antisemitism’.
Such a comfort to see it demonstrated that the screaming mobs are a minority, not the majority… nor even a plurality.
Majorities of New Yorkers support peaceful student demonstrations
…that’s the famous American freedom of speech thingy we’re so fond of — we may not like what you say, but as long as you say it peacefully we won’t fuss…
for those suffering in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. , but say recent campus pro-Paleostinian protests have "crossed the line into antisemitism," according to a poll released on Wednesday.
And that’s where your right to free speech ends at the tip of my nose.
The Siena College poll of nearly 1,200 registered voters in New York state, taken last week, also found that majorities of New Yorkers support a ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas

war but believe the "protests went too far" and justified police action in shutting them down.

According to the poll, 72% of respondents "support students with passionate views peacefully demonstrating in support of those suffering in Gaza." Sixty-four percent say they "support an immediate ceasefire."

But 70% say "the protests went too far and I support the police being called in to shut them down." And 61% agreed with the statement, "Demonstrators seem to have forgotten that Hamas started this war by killing 1,200 people and taking over 200 hostages. Now it feels like these demonstrations have crossed the line into antisemitism."

Answers from New York City respondents did not differ significantly from the statewide results. The survey had a margin of error of 3.9%.

A different survey released Wednesday by Quinnipiac University found that 55% of Americans said they opposed "the student protests being held on college and university campuses responding to Israel’s actions in Gaza?" while 36% said they supported the protests. That survey did not ask respondents for more detailed responses about the protests.

Among Jewish respondents, 87% said the protests crossed the line into antisemitism, although the survey polled a relatively small sample size of roughly 130 Jews. A majority of Jews oppose a ceasefire, and Jewish respondents were divided on whether to support students peacefully protesting suffering in Gaza.

A majority or plurality of every political, racial and income group surveyed agreed that the protests had featured antisemitism, although liberal, Black and Latino voters, and those with lower incomes, were more split.

Nearly half of respondents, 48%, supported $26 billion in funding for Israel including $9 billion for humanitarian aid in Gaza, while 33% opposed.

US House panel grills university heads over deals to end anti-Israel encampments
[IsraelTimes] Presidents of Northwestern and Rutgers insist they didn’t yield to protesters’ demands, as Republican committee head, Virginia Foxx (NC) accuses them ,and UCLA pres, of ‘capitulating to the antisemitic rule breakers’

The presidents of Northwestern and Rutgers universities defended their decisions to end anti-Israel encampments by reaching agreements with the pro-Paleostinian student protesters, claiming during a US House committee hearing on Thursday that they defused the danger without ceding ground to the demonstrators.

"We had to get the encampment down," Northwestern’s Michael Schill said. "The police solution was not going to be available to us to keep people safe, and also may not be the wisest solution as we’ve seen at other campuses across the country."

Third polio case of 2024 reported in Pakistan
[GEO.TV] The third polio
...Poliomyelitis is a disease caused by infection with the poliovirus. Between 1840 and the 1950s, polio was a worldwide epidemic. Since the development of polio vaccines the disease has been largely wiped out in the civilized world. However, since the vaccine is known to make Moslem pee-pees shrink and renders females sterile, bookish, and unsubmissive it is not widely used by the turban and automatic weapons set. Currently the disease is only found in Pakistain and Afghanistain...
case of the year has been reported from Killa Abdullah district of Balochistan
...the Pak province bordering Kandahar and Uruzgun provinces in Afghanistan and Sistan Baluchistan in Iran. Its native Baloch propulation is being displaced by Pashtuns and Punjabis and they aren't happy about it...
, where a 12-year-old girl was found infected with Wild Poliovirus 1 (WPV1) officials said on Saturday.

According to the Regional Reference Laboratory for Polio at the National Institute of Health, WPV1 was detected in stool samples collected from a 144-month-old child in Darozai union council of Killa Abdullah, who developed symptoms of paralysis on April 20. Genetic sequencing of the isolated virus is underway.

It is the third polio case in 2024 in Pakistain as the previous two polio cases were also reported from different districts of Balochistan, officials said.

"It is incredibly tragic that another child has been affected by polio this year in Balochistan," said Coordinator to the Prime Minister on National Health Services Dr Malik Mukhtar Ahmed Bharath, adding that polio is a terrible illness that changes not just the child’s life but also of the whole family.

"The government is bringing the polio vaccine to the citizens’ doorsteps in multiple polio vaccination rounds. I urge families to understand the risk this disease poses to children and make sure that they vaccinate all their children under the age of five when the polio worker shows up to their homes."

UN rapporteur urges states to cut ties, impose sanctions on Israel
[NEWARAB] The UN's special rapporteur for the Occupied Palestinian Territories has called for sanctions on Israel after the International Court of Justice (ICJ) ordered the state to halt its offensive on Rafah.
Still stamping her little feet about being banned by Israel? The poor darling.
Francesca Albanese urged member states to impose sanctions, an arms embargo, and suspend diplomatic and political relations with Israel until it ceases its assault.

"Be sure: Israel will not stop this madness until WE make it stop," Albanese said on X, noting that Israel is intensifying its attacks on Rafah.

UN calls for reopening all land crossings for effective Gaza aid
[GEO.TV] A UN aid worker in Gaza called for reopening all land routes and an end to war for more effective humanitarian response to Palestinians.

“In less than two weeks, nearly half of the population of Gaza has been once again forcibly displaced, all of them in dire need of assistance,” said UN aid worker Olga Cherevko.

“We continue to face immense challenges amidst extreme insecurity and running out of supplies. Imagine how much more effective we could be if all land routes were to open and this war finally ended and Gaza could once again live and breathe without fear.”

'Revolution has begun': IDF soldier who called for rebellion's social media past revealed
[Jpost] The individual, whose name has been censored by Israeli media, is being investigated for calling for mutiny against Israeli defense officials, and has made other controversial statements online.

Ynet has uncovered social media posts made by the masked and armed IDF soldier who called for a rebellion against top defense officials on Sunday.

In the original video where the soldier called for mutiny, the man called out IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant. The video has since circulated on social media and instigated public response. The soldier's identity has yet to be released to the public.

The suspect has been located by the IDF and is being interrogated by the IDF Military Police Criminal Investigation Division.

Ynet found that the individual has a history of making inflammatory posts about Gallant and about demonstrators during the 2023 judicial reform protests.

In one Facebook post, the individual posted a picture of Gallant with the caption, "You are not my Defense Minister. Go, and fast. Traitor." This post was made following Gallant's statements that he seeks to prevent continued Israeli military rule over the Gaza Strip.

MASKED SOLDIER SHARED POSTS CRITICIZING PROTESTERS DURING JUDICIAL REFORMS
Last July, during the demonstrations against the proposed judicial reforms by the current government, the individual shared a post reading, "I call on all of you to get off your sofas and televisions and come to Kaplan on Monday, July 17, with one goal: So that the Left will know our strength and the citizens who have endured over six months of demonstrations. The time has arrived for the protests to end at any cost; the revolution has begun."

The individual has also made other posts pertaining to violence against protesters on the Ayalon freeway in Tel Aviv, saying, "When will people wake up and realize that they must be slapped a few times and tied to the side of the road."

The original video gained traction after Yair Netanyahu, the son of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, shared the video on his Telegram.

In response to the video, the Prime Minister's Office on Saturday claimed that the prime minister "Has warned many times about the dangers of insubordination and the permissive attitudes towards it."

"The Prime Minister is consistent in his position; he rejects outright any manifestation of insubordination from any side."
