13 federal judges boycott Columbia grads over anti-Israeli protests: ‘An incubator of bigotry'
Consequences for the little darlings.
[NY Post] Thirteen federal judges announced Monday that they will no longer hire Columbia University grads as law clerks because of the “virulent spread of antisemitism” on the troubled Ivy League campus.

The jurists fired off a letter to Columbia President Minouche Shafik saying the once-prestigious Manhattan university has become “an incubator of bigotry” as anti-Israeli protests continue to run rampant there, the Free Beacon said.

“Freedom of speech protects protest, not trespass, and certainly not acts of threats of violence or terrorism,” the judges said in the scathing missive, which was sent after weeks of campus encampments and the eventual takeover of a historic Columbia academic building.

“It has become clear that Columbia applies double standards when it comes to free speech and student misconduct,” the judges said.

“Recent events demonstrate that ideological homogeneity throughout the entire institution of Columbia has destroyed its ability to train future leaders of a pluralistic society and intellectually diverse country.

“As judges who hire law clerks every year to serve in the federal judiciary we have lost confidence in Columbia as an institution of higher education,” the letter said. “Columbia has instead become an incubator of bigotry.”

The stunning boycott comes as Columbia administrators Monday canceled the university’s traditional school-wide graduation ceremony over concerns about unrest.

According to the federal judges now boycotting Columbia, the protest there has gone entirely too far.

“Both professors and administrators are on the front lines of the campus disruptions, encouraging the virulent spread of antisemitism and bigotry,” the judges wrote.

“Significant and dramatic change in the composition of its faculty and administration is required to restore confidence in Columbia,” they said.

The jurists signing the letter were led by federal appellate Judges James Ho and Elizabeth Branch, who spearheaded earlier boycotts of Yale and Stanford University law schools, according to the Free Beacon.

Last year, Ho and Branch announced they would stop considering Stanford Law School graduates for clerk positions after another conservative judge was booed off the stage at the school.

In 2022, the two judges said they would no longer hire Yale Law School grads as clerks because of a prevalence of “cancel culture” at the renowned university.
At this rate, they’re going to end up hiring from The Ohio State and similar red state public universities…

Tele Sahel: Russia delivered military equipment and humanitarian aid to Niger
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] Russia delivered military equipment and humanitarian aid to Niger using two cargo planes. The state television and radio company of the West African country RTN reported this on May 5 on its page on the social network Facebook (owned by Meta Corporation, a banned and recognized extremist organization in Russia).

Russia is said to have sent three cargo flights to the Niger capital Niamey earlier this month to transport military equipment, as well as several trainers. In addition, the flight also delivered humanitarian aid for the residents of Niger.

In April, Bloomberg, citing RTN, reported that Russia, as part of cooperation with Niger, for the first time sent an air defense system and instructors to the West African country to train Niger military personnel.

As IA Regnum, on May 2, Reuters, citing a Pentagon representative, reported that Russian military personnel entered the air base in Niamey. This move followed the decision of the Niger authorities to expel almost a thousand US military personnel from the country. It was clarified that the American military had no contact with the Russians. Later, Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin said that the United States was closely monitoring the situation with the presence of Russian military personnel at the air base in Niger.

Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov, commenting on this situation, noted that Moscow is developing relations with African countries in all areas, including in the field of defense.

Arabia
Saudi Arabia calls for international intervention to stop Gaza genocide and targeting of Rafah
[Saudi Gazette] Saudi Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula, largely made up of sand and oil rigs. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual haj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. Formerly dictatorial and steeped in Olde Tyme Religion, deferring to Salafist holy men on all issues, it has now done a 180 and is making a serious effort to modernize, so as not to be left in the sand by its Gulf Arab neighbors. The holy men have been shoved to the background and the nation is now still dictatorial but somewhat Frational. That doesn't make them trustworthy, but it's a start...
warned of the dangerous repercussions of the Israeli occupation forces’ targeting of the city of Rafah as part of its ongoing bloody and brutal campaign on the Gazoo
Islamic Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response. In October of 2023 Gazooks belonging to Hamas invaded Israel, killed over a thousand people, raped a bunch of women. Then they bitched and moaned about genocide when their butts handed to them in the entirely justified retaliation.
Strip.

The Kingdom also renewed its call on the international community to intervene immediately to stop the genocide being perpetrated by Israel against unarmed civilians in the occupied Gaza Strip.

In a statement issued on Monday, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs voiced Saudi Arabia’s warning of the dangers of targeting the city of Rafah by the Israeli occupation forces as part of its bloody and systematic campaign to storm all areas of the Gaza Strip and displace its residents into the unknown, in light of the lack of safe havens after the massive destruction caused by the Israeli war machine.

The ministry affirmed the Kingdom’s categorical rejection of the ongoing blatant violations of all international resolutions by the occupation forces. The ministry called for stopping massacres of the unarmed civilians. The ministry noted that Israel’s violation of international law and international humanitarian law without deterrence exacerbates the humanitarian crisis and scuttles international peace efforts.

RSF in Saudi Arabia ban social media posts after video controversy
[SUDANTRIBUNE] The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) implemented a strict social media ban on Saturday, prohibiting military personnel in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from posting photos or videos in uniform.

The new regulations, seen by Sudan Tribune and distributed to all RSF members in Saudi Arabia, impose a categorical ban on photography in military attire and the sharing of any graphic content on social media platforms.

The ban is a direct response to a widely circulated video that depicted RSF members in Saudi Arabia threatening to attack the Sudanese city of Port Sudan on the other bank of the Red Sea.

SUDAN SEEKS CLARIFICATION
The Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned Saudi Ambassador Ali bin Jaafar to discuss the controversial video. While details of the meeting remain undisclosed, the Ministry reportedly sought clarification on the clip’s content.

According to the foreign ministry, Ambassador bin Jaafar downplayed the video’s significance, stating that it originated four months ago and documented a routine training exercise for RSF troops in the Yemeni conflict. He further asserted that the training did not involve specific military activities like artillery practice, marches, or medical procedures.

Caribbean-Latin America
Panama: Conservative Party Wins Presidency on Promise to Shut Down Immigrant Routes
[Breitbart] José Raúl Mulino, a last-minute conservative candidate in Panama’s 2024 presidential race, was elected in Sunday’s general election with a nearly ten percent lead over his closest rival.

Mulino, a 64-year-old lawyer and former minister of security in the country, campaigned on implementing a crackdown on migration by “closing” the dangerous Darien Gap jungle trail that Panama shares with Colombia, which thousands of migrants from South America and other regions use to reach the United States. Mulino has also vowed to improve Panama’s economy.

The now president-elect ran as a stand-in candidate for former President Ricardo Martinelli (2009-2014), who was banned from running for a new term after local courts sentenced him to ten years in prison on money laundering charges in 2023.

Martinelli, whose appeal was denied by the Supreme Court of Panama, sought asylum at the Nicaraguan embassy in Panama City in February and has remained sheltered in it since then as local authorities have not granted Martinelli a safe passage out of Panama.

Mulino will take office for a five-year term on July 1, succeeding current center-left President Laurentino Cortizo. Cortizo was not eligible for reelection, as Panama’s constitution states that a president may not be reelected in two consecutive presidential terms.

With more than 98 percent of the votes tallied by Panama’s Electoral Tribunal at press time, Mulino, who ran as the candidate for “Save Panama,” a coalition composed of Martinelli’s conservative Realizing Goals party and the centrist Alliance Party, obtained 34.32 percent of the votes.

Ricardo Lombana, who ran for the Another Way Movement (MOCA) “green” party came in second place with 24.75 percent of the votes, while Martín Torrijs, of the center-right Popular Party, received 16.01 percent of the votes. The voter turnout rate was estimated at 77.63 percent.

“Mission accomplished, damn it!” Mulino exclaimed at the start of his Sunday victory speech, asserting that leading Panama would be a “gigantic task” and the most important part of his now-successful presidential campaign was to identify with that “feeling and that clamor of the irreducible majorities of the country, who trusted in our proposal because they had hope of getting out of the hole they were put in during the last ten years.”

Mulino assured his sympathizers that he would promote a “pro-investment, pro-private enterprise government” but stressed that “we must not forget those who are hungry, those who need drinking water. These are very big challenges.”

Additionally, Mulino declared that he would defend freedom of speech and human rights during his administration.

In April, Mulino vowed that, if elected president, he would “close” down the Darien Gap and duly deport migrants in accordance with human rights provisions. Mulino, however, has not given the specifics of what his plan to close the infamous jungle trail would entail at press time.

The head of the Organization of American States (OAS), Luis Almagro, extended his congratulations to Mulino and saluted Panamaians for their Sunday electoral participation. Almagro said in a statement that the Central American country could count on OAS to continue expanding the agenda of democracy, human rights, security, and sustainable development.

Hamas changed cease-fire deal to let them include bodies of dead hostages in prisoner swap: report
[NY Post] Raise your hand if you're surprised. Anyone? Bueller?
Hamas changed the language in the cease-fire deal it accepted Monday to count the bodies of dead hostages in a proposed swap for Palestinian prisoners, according to a shocking report.

The deal signed by Hamas also included an end to the war in Gaza — something the Israeli side said it would not accept.

But one of the biggest changes reportedly came in the language around the 33 Israeli hostages who were set to be released in exchange for a cease-fire.

While the original deal called for 33 living hostages, Hamas changed the wording to include 33 hostages "alive or bodies," officials told public broadcaster KAN TV.

Israeli officials have blasted the proposal as significantly different from what Israel had initially said it would agree to.

Hamas has repeatedly warned that it does not have enough hostages who meet Israel’s demands, which called for the release of hostages who are women, elderly or those suffering from illnesses and medical conditions.

The Hamas deal also contained wording that called for an end to the nearly seven-month long war, which goes against Israel’s hardened stance, a senior American official told CNN.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who has repeatedly said that the war will not end until Hamas is eliminated, vowed to reject Hamas’ offer.

Despite Netanyahu’s plans, his office said Israel is still sending a negotiation team to Cairo "to exhaust the possibility of achieving an agreement on terms that are acceptable to Israel."

Israel's Netanyahu says non-Jews 'untrustworthy' in Holocaust commemoration speech
[NEWARAB] Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has implied that non-Jews are "untrustworthy" in a video statement issued on Sunday, ahead of Holocaust Memorial Day.
Sounds harsh. Could there possibly be context?
In his message, Netanyahu said that a Holocaust survivor told him "gentiles who make promises are not to be trusted," without comment.
Oh — so it was someone else who actually said it. Someone who has actual life experience about the price for trusting certain gentiles.
He added that "Israel is the one and only refuge for the Jewish people", and if Israel "doesn’t "protect itself, no one else will".
As Hillel said, “If I am not for myself, who will be for me?” It is not clear to me why Israel should not stand up for herself, when other countries get to.
Six million Jews were killed by Nazi German across German-occupied Europe during World War II.

"These heroic [Holocaust] survivors are right. In the terrible Holocaust, there were great leaders in the world who stood by, so the first lesson of the Holocaust is this: If we don’t protect ourselves, no one will protect us. And if we have to stand alone, we will stand alone," Netanyahu said.

Israeli political analyst Yonatan Touval described Netanyahu’s words as "giving the middle finger to Israel’s closest allies who rushed to its rescue" following the events of October 7, which saw Hamas launch an unprecedent attack in the south of the country which killed an estimated 1,160 Israelis.
If by Israel’s closest allies Mr. Touval means the Biden administration, that Israeli middle finger would be just recompense for the entire row of American knives they’ve been stabbing in Israel’s back. Not to mention the Western countries that have been taking Hamas’s side at every stage of this thing.
Israel has been waging a deadly in Gaza for almost seven months, killing at least 34,735 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injuring over 78,000 more.
Hamas’s statistically unlikely imaginary statistics.
The United States, has provided billions of dollars in financial and military aid over the decades, and has offered constant backing to Israel despite the atrocities it has committed against Palestinians in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.
What atrocities? Give examples.
European countries have also proclaimed their backing for Israel in its war on Gaza.

#2  ^IMO, the teaching about Holocaust, including in Israel, is totally perverted. It wasn't something exceptional in human history. There are genocides going on in Africa even as we speak*.

The exceptional part is Jews faced "final solution" several times yet managed to survive. And now, with modern WMDs, nobody can threaten Israel's destruction by brute force. Thus, the Peace Process.

*In fact, IMO, the anti-white public ideology dominating USA now is a form of slow genocide.

US says it is studying Hamas response on Gaza ceasefire
[GEO.TV] The United States is studying Hamas's response to a ceasefire proposal and will discuss it with allies in the Middle East in the coming hours, State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller told reporters on Monday.
That’ll keep them busy while the grownups get on with what must be done.
"I can confirm that Hamas has issued a response. We are reviewing that response now and discussing it with our partners in the region," Miller said on Monday afternoon, confirming that a response was received in the last hour or 90 minutes and that discussions would take place in the coming hours.

CIA director Bill Burns is in the region "working on this in real time," Miller said.
Notice the issue which is NOT being discussed by Washington? Yes, the hostages.

#1  US knew of mediators’ altered proposal to Hamas, did not inform Israel — report
Posted by: Grom the Reflective || 05/07/2024 5:46 Comments || Top||

#2  /\ And this should come as a surprise to whom.
Please let me guess. No mention made of the hostages in the new offer ?

Snippet from Grom's comment and article:

Washington was aware of the new proposal presented to Hamas by Arab mediators in recent days but failed to inform Israel about it, triggering intense Israeli disappointment with the US administration and suspicion regarding its role as a mediator moving forward, according to a Tuesday report.

Citing Israeli officials, Axios reported that Jerusalem was caught by surprise when Hamas suddenly announced on Monday its acceptance of a ceasefire proposal from Egypt and Qatar. Israel says it was not made aware of the document nor did it see its contents until after Hamas made its announcement to the media.

The new offer was apparently presented to Hamas by Egyptian officials during talks in Cairo over the weekend. Neither Hamas nor the mediators specified Monday that the proposal agreed to was different from the one Israel had accepted days earlier, creating the impression that Hamas had greenlit an offer Israel had already signed off on.

But within hours, Israel, having reviewed the document, said it did not meet its key demands, and announced it was moving forward with its planned operations in the southern Gaza city of Rafah, while continuing to engage with the mediators.

Israeli officials told Hebrew media they viewed the move as “a ruse” by Hamas to paint itself as willing to reach a deal and Israel as the obstinate party.

No compromise on demands of ceasefire, Israeli troops withdrawal: Hamas
You gotta be you, dude. Enjoy that while Rafah crumbles to rubble around your ears.
[GEO.TV] Hamas reiterated that the resistance group would not budge from their demands of ceasefire and withdrawal of Israeli troops, as their political chief Ismail Haniyeh discussed the ceasefire proposal with Ziyad al-Nakhalah, the head of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad.

Haniyeh had a phone call with al-Nakhalah regarding the peace proposals put forward by mediators.

After the call, the group issued a statement, saying the two leaders emphasised that “resistance factions will not back down from their demands”, including a ceasefire, a comprehensive withdrawal of Israeli troops, an “honourable” exchange of prisoners, reconstruction of Gaza and the lifting of the siege.

“The two leaders also reviewed the procedures required to ensure the implementation of the agreement after the resistance took its decision based on a conscious vision of developments in the current situation at all levels,” a statement from Hamas said.

Former Hamas terrorist: Hamas ceasefire proposal is a trap
[JPost] Mosab Hassan Yousef, a former Hamas member turned informant, warns against Hamas' ceasefire offer, advising Israel to demand hostages' release before agreeing.

"Hamas's last-minute ceasefire proposal is a trap," declared Mosab Hassan Yousef on social media platform X.

The former Hamas terrorist, who later became an undercover agent for Israel's Shin Bet, advised that Israel should not accept the ceasefire unless it includes the unconditional release of all hostages and the resignation of Hamas from power.

NEGOTIATING HOSTAGE RELEASE
He urged Israel to outsmart Hamas by demanding the release of all hostages in exchange for the cessation of the Rafah operation.

This warning comes against the backdrop of intense negotiations in Cairo, where Egyptian and Qatari delegations are engaged despite Hamas' acceptance of a ceasefire deal.

Say Israel accepts the cease fire.
The IDF will be back to doing what it's doing now in 18 to 24 months.

So why not just continue doing a Mr. Clean job on GAZA and secure it. Thus avoiding, or at the least, severely reducing HAMAS and other terrorist groups ability to stage Oct 7th type attacks.

Biden warns Netanyahu against Hamas-controlled Rafah invasion
[NYPOST] President Biden "reiterated" to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday that he does not want Israel to invade the Hamas
...always the voice of sweet reason...
-controlled city of Rafah in the southern Gazoo
Strip — following reports that the US has frozen ammunition shipments to deter such an attack.

Biden, 81, placed the call on Holocaust Remembrance Day, when Israelis pause to remember the genocide of 6 million Jews by Nazi Germany during World War II.

The call also took place one day short of seven months since Hamas holy warriors invaded southern Israel and killed around 1,200 people — including 33 Americans — on Oct. 7 in the worst anti-Jewish massacre since the war.

"The president reiterated his clear position on Rafah," the White House said, referring to Biden and his brass hats’ consistent warnings to Netanyahu not to attack Rafah, Hamas’ final major area of control, without a well-developed plan to relocate more than 1 million Paleostinians believed to be in the area.

The White House said Biden also "updated the Prime Minister on efforts to secure a hostage deal, including through ongoing talks today in Doha, Qatar

The Prime Minister agreed to ensure the Kerem Shalom crossing [at the border of Gaza, Israel and Egypt] is open for humanitarian assistance for those in need," the readout also said.

Israel closed the crossing Sunday after Hamas killed three members of the Israel Defense Forces by firing about 10 rockets at the crossing, which is used to transmit aid from Israel into the Paleostinian enclave.

The Jewish state is warning residents of eastern Rafah, many of whom fled fighting elsewhere, that they should relocate immediately — and the UNRWA, a United Nations

IDF says cease-fire claims are 'Hamas deception' and terror group agreed to 'softened' deal
[NYPOST] Israeli officials said the cease-fire deal Hamas

on Monday was not approved by the Jewish state — and that it could be a "deception" by the terrorist organization.

The stakes could hardly be higher at this moment. Israel is preparing to launch an offensive in Rafah, the last stronghold for Hamas — and a city where more than 1 million Paleostinians have taken refuge while fleeing war elsewhere in the Gazoo

IDF Spokesperson Rear Admiral. Daniel Hagari said Israel was reviewing Hamas’ response but still preparing for a possible deployment into Rafah, the Jerusalem Post reports.

Following Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh

’s announcement that a deal was accepted, Israeli officials told multiple outlets that the deal presented to the terror group was a "softened" version of what was really on the table and is not being taken seriously by Jerusalem.

One official told Rooters that the announcement was a clear ruse by the terror group to create backlash against Israel for refusing a deal, and officials told KANN TV that the announcement of a cease-fire agreement was a "Hamas deception."

The anti-Israel agitators were actually outsiders — and the schools could not have handled it worse
The accusations came as a senior Hamas official told the AFP that the future of the cease-fire depends on Israel’s response.

"After Hamas agreed to the mediators’ proposal for a ceasefire, the ball is now in the court of Israeli occupation, whether it will agree to the ceasefire agreement or obstruct it," the officials said.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Iran's IRGC Terrorists Sail Warship into Southern Hemisphere
[Breitbart] Iran announced that Shahid Mahdavi, an Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) warship, crossed the equator into the Southern Hemisphere for the first time.

The Shahid Mahdavi is on a “long-distance mission” in international waters, the Iranian state-owned PressTV propaganda outlet reported.

The Shahid Mahdavi is a more than 2.1-ton and roughly 787-foot long container ship that the IRGC, a U.S.-designated terrorist organization and formal arm of the Iranian military, converted into a multi-purpose warship capable of carrying helicopters, unmanned aerial drones, and speedboats.

According to Iranian state media, the Shahid Mahdavi is equipped with a three-dimensional phased array radar, sea-to-sea and sea-to-air missiles, and advanced communication systems for electronic warfare. The ship was commissioned into the IRGC Navy in March 2023.

Iranian state media claimed that the warship was “conducting its biggest mission in terms of distance and operation,” without specifying further. Iranian authorities have not publicly disclosed the nature of the warship’s mission at press time.

Who is Lebanon's Jamaa Islamiya
[AlMonitor] At least four people, including a child, were reportedly injured by stray bullets in Leb
...an Iranian satrapy currently ruled by Hassan Nasrallah situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozen flavors of Christians, plus Armenians, Georgians, and who knows what else? It is the home of the original Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers...
’s northern Akkar district during a funeral procession held by the Islamist group al-Jamaa al-Islamiya
...The Islamic Group. Sunni Islamist alignment in Lebanon. The group was founded in 1952 as the Leb branch of the Moslem Brüderbund. Its current leader is Faisal Mawlawi.
The party has a military wing known as the al-Fajr Forces. Currently they have 1 seat in the Lebanese Parliament...

over the weekend.

Members of al-Jamaa al-Islamiya held a funeral procession Sunday in the town of Bebnine for two of the group's fighters. They were killed two days earlier in an Israeli dronezap in the eastern Bekaa region. Heavy gunfire accompanied the procession.

Dozens of masked and gunnies were seen walking the town's streets, brandishing their weapons and firing in the air.

According to the local L’Orient Today news outlet, the stray bullets hit four people, including one woman, a man and a 10-year-old child who were inside their homes when the procession passed. Cars and property in the area were also reportedly damaged by the gunfire.

Al-Jamaa al-Islamiya is a Sunni Islamist political group founded in 1964 as the Lebanese branch of the Moslem Brüderbund. The group is present in Sunni-dominated cities and towns in both the south and the north. It is seen as an ally of Hamas
...not a terrorist organization, even though it kidnaps people, holds hostages, and tries to negotiate by executing them,...
and has carried out joint attacks with the group, one of its officials said last month.

Its military wing, al-Fajr Forces, was founded in 1982 to fight the Israeli invasion of Lebanon during the civil war at the time. Its relations with Hezbollah, the dominant Iran-backed Shia murderous Moslem group in Lebanon, have fluctuated. The two took opposite sides during the civil war and in the conflict in Syria, with Jamaa opposing Syrian Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad
Supressor of the Damascenes...
. Their relations have improved in the last two years and as Hezbollah-Hamas coordination increased inside Lebanon.

UNCONTROLLED ARMS
The videos and images of the gunnies in Bebnine sparked widespread outrage among civilians and politicians and renewed the debate about the spread of weapons in the country amid the deterioration of the Lebanese state.

In a post on X on Sunday, independent parliament member Mark Daou condemned the presence of militias as a violation of the country’s illusory sovereignty, calling for the state for arms control.

Ibrahim Mneime, another independent politician, said al-Jamaa al-Islamiya bears responsibility for the "military demonstration" and the fall of the maimed in Akkar. He also condemned what he described as the group maintaining control of these weapons through intimidation.

Gunfire at events like weddings and funerals is common in some parts of Lebanon. Supporters of the Shiite Hezbollah movement are known for firing bursts of bullets in the air when the group’s leader, His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah
...The satrap of the Medes and the Persians in Leb...
, delivers his televised speeches.

The practice has killed several people over the years. Most recently, last August, a seven-year-old girl was killed when a stray bullet struck her in the head while she was at a summer camp in the town of Hadath near Beirut.

Arms possession in Lebanon is poorly regulated and many civilians along with Paleostinian and Lebanese factions own firearms. Hezbollah, which is heavily backed by Iran, owns a large arsenal of weapons that includes thousands of rockets, anti-tank missiles and drones.

Amid the controversy, al-Jamaa al-Islamiya issued a statement on its website saying it regretted "the armed convoy and shooting during the funeral procession from Tripol to Bebnine." The statement went on, "Any scene that raises panic and fear among the Lebanese is unacceptable," and "We affirm that the group is keen on the stability of the homeland and the security of citizens."

HOSTILITIES ON ISRAEL-LEBANON BORDER
Since the cross-border hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah erupted in October, al-Jamaa al-Islamiya’s military wing has claimed several rocket launches toward Israeli territory.

On Friday, two senior commanders of the group were killed when an Israeli dronezap hit their vehicle on a road linking the villages of Sarira and Meidoun in the Bekaa region in the east of the country. The group identified the commanders as Mosab Saeed Khalaf and Bilal Mohammed Khalaf.

Israel confirmed the strike, saying it had killed Mosab Khalaf, who was behind a series of attacks against Israel in Shebaa Farms, a disputed territory in the south near the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights.

Iran-backed Hezbollah and the Israeli army have been exchanging heavy fire along the southern border since Oct. 8, the day after the Israel-Hamas war in the Gazoo
Islamic Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. Then they bitched and moaned about genocide when their butts handed to them in the entirely justified retaliation.
Strip broke out.

Several Paleostinian factions and allied groups inside Lebanon have since joined the battle in support of Hamas.

In a statement on Telegram, Hamas’ military wing the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades grabbed credit for a barrage of rockets fired from southern Lebanon toward northern Israel on Monday.

The Israeli military told Agence La Belle France Presse that 20 rockets were launched toward Israel from Lebanon and that most of the projectiles were intercepted.
