To Rantburg's Canadian friends, I know that this article does not speak for you, but everyone here needs to go read this big stinky flaming bag of poop and then take a shower. Excerpt: Canadians often pride themselves on how different Canada is from the United States of America. But, on a fundamental level it shares much more than is commonly admitted. Both are avowedly colonialist, capitalist nation-states, with white-European and Christian origins. They were both built on the blood, sweat and tears of people (mostly non-white), the overwhelming majority of whom were not allowed to share in the wealth which a select few from the white elite have accumulated over time. Slavery was practised in both countries with varying intensity at various periods. While the United States has been the overt imperialist over the past century-and-a-half, Canada has lent its support to such endeavours; aside for its complicity in crimes in Iraq, it has been (or is currently) involved in Vietnam, Indonesia/East Timor, Afghanistan, Haiti, and Israel-Palestine, among others.[4] They have both employed immigration policies that primarily allow entry to immigrants and refugees from the South in order to meet specific needs in the labour market and/or to compensate for an otherwise slow population growth. Both governments are fraught with overwhelming conflicts of interests which favour corporate rule over public good. Finally, and perhaps of greatest importance, is the colonial history and holocaust of Indigenous peoples that characterises both these nation-states. Indeed, after originating from such shameful origins, it would in fact be a surprise if Canada had managed to truly distinguish itself from the United States on issues that actually matter.

So, when the Quebecois will separate? I will be probably in a role of unparticipating observer, as I'll switch, soon, my residence to the south of the border. I would still like to see the westerners separate, for their sake.

Canada could, indeed, manage to distinguish itself - by rounding up assholes like Samir and deporting them back to the Middle Eastern and "Asian" shitholes they came from.

A Muslim (ien the member of areliguion who practices slavery, racism and has been guilty of countless genocides in the Balkans, in India, in Armenia and more) daring to speak about the "shamùeful past of Canada". We have another definition of chutzpah.

Yo, Canada! You can't appease us with a few paltry billions, your condemnation of Jews and Americans --- both of whom you hate anyway, and your watered down Sharia corts. Nothing less than complete submission to the will of Allah --- who ordained that we're your natural masters, will do.

Rightwing - you forgot that he's in solidarity with the indigenous peoples. I'm sure he's got an "Indian name", too. A Muslim version of a "Blond Indian".
I wonder if there is any way to direct the idjits at Democratic Underground to this site.....that could be funny!

Samir is an organiser with the Montreal-based Indigenous Peoples Solidarity Movement. He is trained as a medical doctor, specialising in the field of childrenâs health.
But can he recite the Koran from memory in reverse?
'nuff said. Moonbat Alert

Yes, of course, the "indigenous peoples". This subject is explored in depth in the 1990 Academy Award winning classic film "Dances With Wolves". Rent the DVD for a thought provoking and eye opening experience in cinema and conclusive proof that not everything I've done has totally sucked.

...The S factor -- short for the Stupid factor -- describes people who don't understand cause and effect, can't handle more than two sides of an issue and don't seek out multiple sources of information. It was my contention that, although the S factor applies to people across the political spectrum, it went a long way to explaining the apparent popularity of President Bush in the face of facts that indicated he was neither competent nor virtuous...
MY FELLOW AMERICANS, I had intended to reach out to all of you and bring a divided nation together. But I changed my mind. America isn't divided by political ethos or ethnic origin. America isn't divided by region or religion. America is divided by jerks. Who wants to bring a bunch of jerks together with the rest of us? Let them stew in Berkeley, Boston, and Ann Arbor...

The more that these democrat traitors believe that only the 'stupid' people voted GWB into office, the harder I laugh. Each election cycle that they continue with this grand philosophy means another generation out of power for them. What do they think is going to happen when they tell the voters, "You voted that way cause you're an idiot."
It means Joe/Josie Average is going to say, "Yeah well screw you if you think I'll ever vote for ya."
For a party based on political pandering and bribery, it sure is a strange position to take that pisses off alot of voters. But maybe they figure they can cheat enough to make up the difference.

The fact the Rep's increased their size in the House and Senate always seems to fly under the radar for these types too.

The real battle is people who reason versus people who don't.
That much is true. What Dems cannot face is they aren't the side of reason-they're the side of hysteria and hyperbole. Americans believing that Saddam had WMD isn't the problem; it's the alternative story the Dems/anti-War folk were running that makes Americans not vote Dem. The basic Dem formula was "if we would just work with our allies, we would make ourselves safe through weapons inspections, there would be no graft, Saddam is not so bad as to be pulled from power, the world would be safer, there wouldn't be this anti-Americanism". Rot. Americans have pretty good bullsh*t detectors. Dems-you can run and hide, but you can't escape the mirror.
Come up with a better analysis and an actual plan next time.

We're divided because the Left keeps harping that we are - dialecticism, alternatism, alteriorism, and totalitarian equalism > everyone is a de facto patriot, or else everyone is a de facto traitor, no middies; 1 = 2 = 3 = ...@, regardless if one or few or many do indeed engage in treasonous or criminal acts, except for Lefties of course! Thus a terrorist = freedom-fighter, an ultra-Rightist Socialist Fascist = ultra-Leftist Socialist Communist, and free America = communism-centric Russia-China, science-intellectualist meritocracy = absolute or totalitarian reliance on propaganda and information control,
,....................@!

largely overlooked, perhaps the most remarkable statistic from the 2004 election is the record of those candidates for whom Clinton campaigned: all eight lost. heh, heh

This is also true in the western (particulary european) media.
I remember a story that happened with Abdul Rahman Al Rashed, Al Sharq Al Awsatâs former editor in chief and the current manager of Al Arabiyah news channel. Al Rashed said: when I was the editor in chief of the newspaper, an employee wanted to publish a photo of an American soldier talking with an Iraqi girl on the street. Do you know what his caption was? âAmerican soldier solicits sex from an Iraqi girlâ If I didnât personally see this picture, the photo and its caption would had been published in my newspaper".
I think that some western media such as the NYT or CBS would have let the photo run with the caption - 60 minutes would produce an expose on it.

Ibrahim Nafai, one of Egyptâs and the Arab worldâs most reputed journalists, accused the USA of dropping Genetically Modified Food on the poor Afghans and claimed that this type of food is poisonous and hazardous to humans!
"...most reputed journalists." Who says? Al Jezeera?
Nafai read Friedman article and then wrote a response that made him look as if he was a 12 year old boy caught by his mom touching his peter.
Maybe he was touching his pecker. He certainly wasn't using his head.
This article is from the Hate America crowd--this crowd has far reaching tenacles both in this country and abroad. Bunch of propagandistic bulls**t from the leftist intelligensia crowd--those that think they know more than the rest of us. We have always had some boneheads who haven't liked us for one reason or another. They seem to have mistaken us for someone who gives a rat's a*s.

Considering the character and reputation of the villains, thieves and scoundrels on the other side, as an American, I'm proud to be hated by these people.

A friend of mine who works as a strategic analyst once listened to a Muslim rant about how Allah would protect them from the Americans. They abosrbed this in silence, then another analyst asked, "But who will protect Allah from the Americans?" At the end of the day, they hate us because they know in their heart of hearts that all we need do is turn a key, and their entire religion and culture will disappear.

Okay, so Mike's good to go - now who's got the other key?
A multi-volume chronology and reference guide set detailing three years of the Mexican Drug War between 2010 and 2012.
Rantburg.com and borderlandbeat.com correspondent and author Chris Covert presents his first non-fiction work detailing
the drug and gang related violence in Mexico.
Chris gives us Mexican press dispatches of drug and gang war violence
over three years, presented in a multi volume set intended to chronicle the death, violence and mayhem which has
dominated Mexico for six years.
Rantburg was assembled from recycled algorithms in the United States of America. No
trees were destroyed in the production of this weblog. We did hurt some, though. Sorry.
