[Breitbart] The Senate Intelligence Committee will soon wrap up its investigation into possible collusion between the 2016 Trump presidential campaign and Russia, and those claiming the two parties colluded may be in for a rude awakening, according to a new report.
NBC News, citing Democrats and Republicans, reports the panel’s two-year investigation has yet to uncover "direct evidence" of "conspiracy" between Trump campaign officials and the Kremlin. However, the report claims lawmakers are at odds "along party lines when it comes to the implications of a pattern of contacts" members of the two parties had before and after the Democrat National Committee’s emails were hacked.
"If we write a report based upon the facts that we have, then we don’t have anything that would suggest there was collusion by the Trump campaign and Russia," Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Richard Burr (R-NC) told CBS News last week.
"We know we’re getting to the bottom of the barrel because they’re not new questions that we’re searching for answers to," he added.
Several unnamed Democrat lawmakers told NBC News that while they concur with Burr’s statements, they lack the appropriate context. "We were never going find a contract signed in blood saying, ’Hey Vlad, we’re going to collude,'" a Democrat staffer told the news outlet.
BLUF:
[Hot Air] Newly released internal FBI emails showed the agency’s highest-ranking officials scrambling to answer to Hillary Clinton’s lawyer in the days prior to the 2016 presidential election, on the same day then-FBI Director James Comey sent a bombshell letter to Congress announcing a new review of hundreds of thousands of potentially classified emails found on former Rep. Anthony Weiner’s laptop.
The trove of documents turned over by the FBI, in response to a lawsuit by the transparency group Judicial Watch, also included discussions by former FBI lawyer Lisa Page concerning a potential quid pro quo between the State Department and the FBI ‐ in which the FBI would agree to downgrade the classification level of a Clinton email in exchange for more legal attache positions that would benefit the agency abroad. There was no indication such a quid pro quo ever took place. ...
"Jason Herring will be providing you with three 302s [witness reports] of current and former FBI employees who were interviewed during the course of the Clinton investigation," Page wrote. "These 302s are scheduled to be released to Congress in an unredacted form at the end of the week, and produced (with redactions) pursuant to FOIA at the beginning of next week.
Page continued: "As you will see, they describe a discussion about potential quid pro quo arrangement between then-DAD in IOD [deputy assistant director in International Operations Division] and an Undersecretary at the State Department whereby IOD would get more LEGAT [legal attaché] positions if the FBI could change the basis of the FOIA withhold re a Clinton email from classified to something else."

All the evidence pulled a shred at a time... and do you think anything will ever come of it?
Short answer: No.
Everyone inside the beltway halls of power are fully aware of what took place. All others should not be asking questions or reading those pesky blogs or following the internets.
[Right Scoop] Senate Democrat Ed Markey, who co-authored the Green New Deal, attacked McConnell for allowing a floor vote on his new legislation:
Don’t let Mitch McConnell fool you: this is nothing but an attempt to sabotage the movement we are building. He wants to silence your voice so Republicans don’t have to explain why they are climate change deniers. McConnell wants this to be the end, this is just the beginning. https://t.co/GUxJ5HG2jb
‐ Ed Markey (@SenMarkey) February 12, 2019
This isn't a new Republican trick. By rushing a vote on the #GreenNewDeal resolution, Republicans want to avoid a true national debate & kill our efforts to organize. We’re having the first national conversation on climate change in a decade. We can’t let Republicans sabotage it.
‐ Ed Markey (@SenMarkey) February 12, 2019
It’s kinda hilarious that Markey, who put forth the new radical legislation, is now angry because it’s actually getting a vote. I mean seriously, what kind of messed up logic is that?
Many on Twitter sure thought it was hilarious and the mocking quickly began:

He wanted to go into the 2020 elections saying the republicans refuse to even bring it up for a vote and instead it was called out for the foolishness it is right away. Brilliant Mitch, brilliant. Force them to vote for no cars or planes and see if any survive the next election. Force them to vote against the Dems green initiative and watch Republicans use that in their election campaigns. Win/Win, check and mate.
[JewishPress; HT The Muqata on FB] Look away for a few minutes and you miss the latest jabs. In one corner is Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar, spouting and repeating anti-Semitic and anti-Israel smears.
In another corner are old-guard Democrats whose younger party members are proudly waving around their anti-Israel and anti-Semitic bona fides, potentially hurting the party with historically stalwart supporters.
In still another corner there are Omar's supporters.
They claim Omar is the victim of racism, sexism and whatever-other-isms are available. Many of Omar's supporters demand to know why she should be forced to apologize for saying wealthy Jews use their influence to bribe congressional members.
In the final corner are the Republicans, gleeful that someone else is finally on the hot seat, accused of spouting bigotry in public.
While Omar, falsely, criticized a Jewish lobbying organization, AIPAC, for giving money directly to political candidates, she apparently has no trouble accepting money from political action committees.
According to the records of the Federal Election Commission, last summer Omar received nearly $60,000 from PACs.
One PAC from which Omar received thousands of dollars in 2018 is the Council on American Islamic Relations. CAIR was named as an un-indicted co-conspirator in the 2009 Holy Land Foundation trial, the largest terrorism-financing trial in American history.
And CAIR not only has a PAC, it is a lobbying organization. On Jan.10, 2019, CAIR hosted the Community Congressional Reception at which Omar spoke.
In all, Omar received tens of thousands of dollars from lobbying groups. None of her money came from AIPAC or the NRA or the fossil fuel industry; That must be a coincidence.

Well. The "right to lobby" is in the Constitution. That pesky, ugly, problematic Constitution that the left so needs to get rid of before Utopia can arrive.
Did you know utopia means "nowhere?"

No wonder she thinks Jewish lobbyists have such influence over Congress. Direct experience!
[TerraDaily] Thailand's powerful King Maha Vajiralongkorn late Friday described an unprecedented move to make his older sister Princess Ubolratana prime minister as "highly inappropriate" and against "royal traditions".
Ubolratana, 67, the older sister of Vajiralongkorn, was announced hours earlier as a candidate in the upcoming elections for the Thai Raksa Chart party, which is steered by the divisive Shinawatra political clan.
Her shock entrance into frontline Thai politics was a first by a member of the powerful royal family and promised to reshape the political landscape of the country.

Mary Elizabeth Inabinett, 63, is charged with second-degree assault and faces a March trial for allegedly assaulting White House counselor Kellyanne Conway
Inabinett is pictured here for the first time; she organizes volunteers for a Virginia nonprofit that helps 'social entrepreneurs'
Husband is CEO of Oceana, the celebrated environmental charity, and a Quaker
Inabinett describes herself on her LinkedIn page as a former 'Alinsky-style community organizer in Maryland, Delaware, Philadelphia and Massachusetts'
Saul Alinsky was a famous 1960s counterculture leader whose 'Rules for Radicals' book advocated isolating and harassing 'establishment' foes
Altercation took place in the October aftermath of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh's contentious confirmation and swearing-in
Conway says Inabinett grabbed her from behind during a birthday dinner at a Maryland restaurant and shook her
Inabinett's attorney insists she will be proven innocent
Justice Department official says she could be charged with a federal crime since Conway, like all senior White House aides, is commissioned government officer
[Free Beacon] Democrat 2020 hopeful is vegan because eating eggs 'didn't align with my spirit'
Sen. Cory Booker (D., N.J.) said the planet "can't sustain" people eating meat, as the 2020 hopeful aims to become the first vegan president.
Booker told the vegan magazine VegNews earlier this month that he became vegan after coming to the realization that eating eggs "didn't align with my spirit."
While claiming he does not want to lecture Americans on their diets, Booker says Americans need to be nudged into fake cheese because the planet cannot sustain the "environmental impact" of the food industry.
"You see the planet earth moving towards what is the Standard American Diet," Booker said. "We've seen this massive increase in consumption of meat produced by the industrial animal agriculture industry."
"The tragic reality is this planet simply can't sustain billions of people consuming industrially produced animal agriculture because of environmental impact," he said. "It's just not possible."
Booker says the "devastating impact" of greenhouse gases produced by the meat industry is "just not practical."
"The numbers just don't add up," he said. "We will destroy our planet unless we start figuring out a better way forward when it comes to our climate change and our environment."
Booker, who said his vegan "journey" began in 1992 when he became a vegetarian after reading Gandhi's biography, wants to make the "existing model" of the food industry "obsolete."

Romans 14:
Do Not Pass Judgment on One Another
14 As for the one who is weak in faith, welcome him, but not to quarrel over opinions. 2 One person believes he may eat anything, while the weak person eats only vegetables. 3 Let not the one who eats despise the one who abstains, and let not the one who abstains pass judgment on the one who eats, for God has welcomed him. 4 Who are you to pass judgment on the servant of another? It is before his own master[a] that he stands or falls. And he will be upheld, for the Lord is able to make him stand.

There are those who believe learning how to cook meat with fire is one of the things that led to human beings, being. The access to extra protein in bone marrow, etc., provided by BBQ led to increased brain mass/capacity. I am not a scientist but I do love BBQ, and notice the neighbors stupid dog doesn't BBQ much. Eat your meat: your brain needs it.
SACRAMENTO (CBS SF) ‐ Governor Gavin Newsom dropped a bombshell early in his State of the State address Tuesday, announcing that California would abandon the state's plan for a high-speed rail connection between San Francisco and Los Angeles.
During the address, he said that while he respects the vision of his predecessors Gov. Jerry Brown and Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, "…there simply isn't a path to get from Sacramento to San Diego, let alone from San Francisco to L.A. I wish there were."
Newsom also said the project "…as currently planned, would cost too much and take too long. There's been too little oversight and not enough transparency."
Newsom did say that the state would continue work to finish the high-speed rail link between Merced and Bakersfield, dismissing critics who would call it a "train to nowhere" and citing the need to reduce air pollution in the Central Valley and tap into the region's economic potential.

Merced is worth a visit, just because it's a gateway to Yosemite: nobody would actually stay in Merced. Bakersfield is worthwhile a few weeks each year (I'm being generous), if you are into flowers. There are only a few photographers into the flowers. So, basically, it's a HSR for photographers, who can generally find their own way to their destinations. Good investment.

And, without a green path to either Bakersfield or Merced, from anywhere, and minimal traffic between the two cities, I'm not getting how a green path between the two makes things so much better.

Finishing this segment is a fig leaf for what a POS scam this always was. No ridership revenue, no private investment, just a make-work graft vanity for Brown

“I am not interested in sending $3.5 billion in federal funding that was allocated to this project back to Donald Trump,”
Should be a "dog whistle" for the entire GOP caucus to claw the money back.

Rail subsidies accrue to the cost of land near the station.
I'll bet the insiders bought land near those stations.
#9
Not to forget the terrorist threat of blowing up rail or sabotaging in a remote or not so remote area. I suspect the cost to monitor this land travel over air pretty spendy.

I am amazed at how awfully bad they did this. The Chinese have thousands of miles of wonderful high speed railway. It's like going from A-B at half the speed of a jet, but no turbulence! It's a wonderful way to travel. No American Engineers could copy Chinese products? I doubt that. Maybe no government MBA's could manage a project? I think that's more likely.
