Police recover stolen cash from Capitol Hill robber's butt
[BLOG.SEATTLEPI] When police found a suspected robber outside a Capitol Hill gas station Tuesday morning, they promptly recovered a knife, but needed some assistance locating the stolen cash.

Police were dispatched about 2:30 a.m. to a gas station at Broadway and East Pike Street on reports of a knifepoint robbery, according to reports.

Responding cops found the 42-year-old suspect, detained him and spotted a knife from behind the gate of a closed business in the area, police say.

But a pat-down of the suspect did not yield any cash he reportedly stole from the victim.

Police took the man to the East Precinct, where the suspect admitted to keeping the money between his butt cheeks, police reports say. He pulled two twenty-dollar bills from his posterior and surrendered them to police.

Police Ask Woman With Kangaroo To Leave Wis. McDonald's
[MINNESOTA.CBSLOCAL] A Beaver Dam police officer says he's certain he's never responded to a call like the one he handled recently at a McDonald's restaurant.

Officer Rich Dahl responded to an anonymous complaint from a customer about a woman who brought a kangaroo into McDonald's. Dahl said Tuesday the woman had the baby kangaroo wrapped in a blanket and tucked in an infant car seat.

Dahl says when he confronted the woman she explained the kangaroo was a service animal to help her cope with emotional distress and she produced a letter from a doctor.
Ohfergawdsakes...
The officer says the woman was upset at first, but then agreed to leave the restaurant.

McDonald's says its policy is to make its restaurants accessible to all customers, including those with disabilities and special needs.

When did food/health inspection requirements go out the window to accommodate such small groups of people. Tyranny of the minority. Screw the majority. Of course the deep pockets tort principle is that McD's pays for food poisoning/contamination not the true offender.

#4  I'm sure baby kangaroos oughtn't be out in a Minnesota winter, no matter how well wrapped up. A responsible 'roo parent would go through the drive through if a McDonal's meal were required, then have a picnic in the living room at home. Or wait until spring, go through the drive through, and have a picnic in the park, with the now much bigger 'roo firmly leashed. Any hint about whether it was a little wallaby or a future six foot plus boxing champion?

#5  It is a 'Grey Kangaroo'. Not as big as the 'Red', but still grow up to be 4-5 feet tall. Adult version would still be aggressive and not prone to 'human suggestions' as they are 'wild' animals.

I think the Serval cat is pretty interesting and beautiful animal, and understand some folks have them as pets and claim they can be 'domesticated'. Still not getting one.

FWIW, as of 2011, the AMA only recognizes dogs as 'Service Animals'. No mention of 'Pal Joey'.

Rebels tighten ring around Debaltsevo

By Chris Covert
Rantburg.com

Two towns near Debaltsevo fell to rebel forces over the last two days, further tightening -- but not yet closing -- the ring around Ukrainian army troops at Debaltsevo, according to Russian language news reports.

Rebel forces occupied the towns of Uglegorsk and Nikishino, with Uglegorsk having been part of a rebel assault since last Monday, and Nikishino falling rather quickly.

At last report, rebel forces have moved closer to sealing off the reported 6,000 troops inside Debaltsevo and a smaller town south of Debaltsevo, Kamyshatka. Rebel news sources claim they have control of the eastern part of Debaltsevo.

Losses in the ongoing assault are said to be heavy, according to the rebels with as many as 1,500 total in dead and wounded for both sides since the battle began last week. The losses in equipment and materiel are said to be similarly heavy.

Rebel forces in Troytskoye, near the mouth of the Debaltsevo salient have suffered from Ukrainian counterattacks, which are probably spoiling attacks meant to stop any attempt at marshaling forces to close the salient. Rebel troops have suffered attacks at nearby Krasny Pakhar as well.

Ukrainian military journalist Dmitri Tymchuk said on Tuesday that a large rebel armor column consisting of 14 tanks was destroyed by Ukrainian artillery fire, or was disabled due to mechanical problems. Tymchuk said the armor group was part of a group which came from Krasnii Luch, a marshaling point for rebel forces in Lugansk.

Rebels disputed Tymchuk's announcement, saying that the destroyed tanks depicted by Tymchuk were in fact Ukrainian tanks.

According to Russian military analyst Boris Rozhin, the current operation to cut off the main mass of Ukrainian troops in Debaltsevo was Plan B, presumably after the more ambitious plan to seal the salient at its "mouth" failed. If it had succeeded, the main plan would have netted about 8,000 Ukrainian troops.

Tymchuk said that the total number of rebel troops and equipment involved in the Debaltsevo operations are "3,500 effectives, 35 tanks, about 90 armored fighting vehicles".

As matters stand now, the rebels will take about two weeks to liquidate the Ukrainian troops occupying the salient. A Ukrainian troop relief and supply column was caught moving south out of Artemovsk on the main supply route towards Debaltsevo Tuesday and destroyed by rebel artillery fire positioned at Mironovskiy. The attack took place near Svetlodarsk, which is at the opening of the Debaltsevo salient. Rebels have not released any casualty figures for that attack yet.

The current situation is being likened by military analysts to the battle at Ilovaisk last August. Then, surrounded Ukrainian forces were told to lay down their arms and leave their equipment undamaged in exchange for safe conduct passage to their own lines. At that time several Ukrainian units did destroy military equipment -- contrary to their agreement with rebels -- and were fired on by rebel forces as they left Ilovaisk.

It is still too early to say if the Debaltsevo battles will play out in the same way, but that appears to be the rebels' intention.

Rebels say that fighting at Chernukhino continued into its fourth day.

Donetsk city

According to rebel sources, Donetsk city is under continuous Ukrainian artillery fire, with artillery hitting several sectors and damaging residential quarters Tuesday.

Ukrainian artillery hit Kievsky, Kuibyshevsky, Kirovsky and Petrovsky districts. Rebel artillery is said to be firing counterbattery fire at Ukrainian artillery. Rebel artillery fire hit two Ukrainian artillery units at Kurakhovka and Gornyak, and Krasnogorovka, all targets to the immediate west of Donetsk city.

Tymchuk said that Ukrainian artillery fire was targeting rebel forces in those districts.

Rebel forces conducted recon probes to the west of Donetsk city Tuesday at Karlovka and Maryinka.

Russia's military is adding more planes this year than most countries own in total
It will receive more than 200 new airplanes and helicopters this year, a staggeringly high number considering that most of the world's air forces have fewer warplanes than that in total. Russia will also introduce in service this year the most advanced version of its highly capable Flanker fighter jet.

The plans are an integral part of the Kremlin's intention to modernize its entire armed forces.

#5  Mama Russia has two main fears at the moment - Soon-to-be-Nuclear Radical Islam, + a Re-Armed, re-Militarized, Nuclear Germany despite the latter being its new Strategic Partner + BFF.

IMO the Crimea Crisis is mostly related to Russia's fear of Secular Turkey going Islamist + "Neo-Ottoman", + Hard Boy penetration into Slavic Eastern Europe, Caucasus, + Central Asia.

OTOH, the post-Crimea Ukraine Crisis vee East Ukraine Separatism goes not only to securing Russian Land-Air-Sea-space? access to the Crimea, BUT ALSO ABOUT KEEPING OR ENSURING THAT RUSSIA BFF GERMANY STAYS SECULAR, NEUTRAL, ESPEC NON-MILITARIZED + NON-NUCLEARIZED UNDER INTERNATIONAL = UNO CONTROL.

Read, NO RETURN OF NAZISM OR PRUSSIANISM.

It remains to be seen iff Darth Vlad can achieve the above given the still-rising ISIS/ISIL GLOBAL THREAT.

China achieves breakthrough in pulse weapons technology
Directed-energy weapons are said to be the future of advanced technological warfare. (Internet photo)

China has achieved a technological breakthrough that could help introduce pulse weapons to the People's Liberation Army's arsenal, reports the Global Times, a tabloid under the auspices of the Communist Party mouthpiece People's Daily.

According to the report, the Xian Institute of Optics and Precision Mechanics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences has successfully developed a third-generation X-ray pulsar simulation source. The technology, which can create an X-ray pulsar source in X-ray tubes to generate arbitrary waveform pulses, officially passed evaluation tests on Jan. 17.

Turkey seizes control of bank linked to US-based cleric
Neo-Ottoman Sultan Recep I further consoldiates his rule.
[Ynet] Turkey's banking regulator has taken over control of a bank affiliated with a moderate Islamic movement which is locked in a bitter feud with the government. The Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency said late on Tuesday that the country's saving deposit insurance fund had seized control of Bank Asya's management, appointing a new CEO and board.

It cited a violation of banking regulations on transparency for the bank's seizure. The move comes amid a government crackdown on the movement led by US-based holy man Fethullah Gulen, which President Recep Tayyip Erdogan

Billions in IRS Welfare Dollars to Be Paid Out to Illegal Immigrants
Billions of dollars in tax refunds will go to all the illegals just given amnesty by Barack Obama. It was confirmed by IRS Commissioner John Koskinen Tuesday during the Senate hearings.

These are extra ‘refunds’ for money earned illegally while they were here illegally. It is being done through the Earned Income Tax Credit.

The Credit is another form of welfare in which money is redistributed to low income workers from higher-paid workers. Some get back more money than they put in.

These particular illegals are to be given Social Security numbers and with that, they can collect the Earned Income Tax Credit. They actually get paid by taxpayers for not making enough money. It was meant for our poor citizens, not them.

Obama’s amnesty allows this according to the IRS interpretation of the law.

The illegals have to have filed returns but it does go back retroactively.

This is being done while Americans are unable to find work and more than 92 million are out of the workforce.

“This is the problem you get into,” said Sen. Charles E. Grassley, an Iowa Republican. “The IRS’s interpretation of the EITC eligibility requirements undermines congressional policy for not rewarding those working illegally in the United States.”

Mr. Grassley asked Mr. Koskinen to go back and revisit his agency’s interpretation of the laws.

Don’t expect any changes. Mr. Obama wants to invite illegal immigration.

It is currently unknown how many billions of dollars will be handed out.

In 2010, the IRS paid out $4.2 billion to illegals who claimed a child tax credit.

#1  The Fed long long ago established the legal precedents for this by allowing illegal immigrants to collect most forms of public assistance via the States while permanently residing in the US, in effect turning these illegals into SEMI/QUASI-CITIZENS,RESIDENTS OF THE US.

The end of JIM CROW = US SEGREGATION made the above stronger in favor the illegals, NOT DE FACTO US CITIZENS-RESIDENTS.

According to a private TV channel, the nurse was an employee of Lahore's Mayo Hospital and went missing after completion of her shift on January 31. The Medical Superintendent of Mayo Hospital could not be reached.

Police said the nurse was kidnapped while she was on her way back to her residence. Police said the accused took the body in an ambulance to a morgue, but upon refusal from the authorities there, he dumped it and escaped. Police claim to have identified the culprit for whom a search is under way.

Sherakot Police Station has accepted an application filed by the victim's family and said that a first information report (FIR) would soon be registered in this regard.

Census Will Try to Count Muslims as a Race So as to Enhance Privileged Status
The federal government is considering allowing those of Middle Eastern and North African descent to identify as such on the next 10-year census, which could give Arab-Americans and other affected groups greater political clout and access to public funding, among other things.
