American Goose? Muslim Gander?
by Michael John McCrae

A recent “My Word” posting on Fox News entitled: “Why No Mention That Salt Lake Shooter Was Muslim? posted Tuesday , February 20, 2007, by John Gibson, caught my attention.

World media is ready to jump on any story in which one or two members of the American military hit, bite, scratch, or are rude to one of their murderous Muslim attackers. If a drop of urine gets within ten feet of a page of the Koran, blood flows in the streets of Afghanistan and Pakistan from fanatics decrying the American Great Satan!

The same examinations and probing are absent any story involving Muslim inhumanities. Muslims cut off heads and threaten worldwide jihad and the media silence is deafening. Even the singular incidents like the Salt Lake City terrorist attack or the terrorist attack on a Seattle, Washington, Jewish Center are downplayed, or allowed to be overshadowed by any other news item when involving possible Islamic terrorism.

In any of these cases, had the killer been a Marine, former Marine, or soldier of any American military branch, a Christian, a Mormon, or any other religiously affiliated person, most of media’s headline front-page banners would have quickly spewed forth every blood-letting detail of the event and included interviews with everyone even remotely associated by blood, friendship or religion to determine the mindset, motivations and rationalisms of the perpetrator. Not so those who attend mosque in America.

John Gibson begins: “Remember that story of the shooter in Salt Lake City who opened up on shoppers last week? He was killed by an off-duty cop who heard shots and ran to confront the shooter. Eighteen-year-old Sulejmen Talovic showed up at the mall in Salt Lake and began shooting people at random. He killed five and wounded several others. The story died as fast as the victims.”

The story “died”. Unlike the Columbine “massacre”, or the shootings at most post offices or the attack on an Amish community school, or Abu Garaib, or Haditha or any number of reports about soldiers who have killed anyone through either plan or accident.

John Gibson wrote: “You had to wonder why. Yes, I know Anna Nicole knocked all stories off the air, but usually we dig down deep when it comes to these teenage shooters. We want to know if they played "Grand Theft Auto," if they were loners, blah, blah, blah.”

We were bombarded with every possible story from every possible angle concerning the Columbine event and the Natalie Holloway disappearance. We are now being attacked with media spin on Anna Nicole Smith. It seems that any story that will distract from Islamic terrorism on American streets is preferable to having to write a story that might upset Osama bin Laden or the radical Saudi Arabian government.

Mr. Gibson adds what few other media outlets bothered to mention: “This time even the papers were relatively muted in their coverage. For instance, you probably didn't notice much coverage over the fact the shooter was Muslim, did you? No, they didn't say much about that. Talovic was from Bosnia. He was a Muslim. He attended a mosque in Salt Lake and he was reported to have been shouting "Allah Akbar" at the end of the shootout when he was cornered, at least according to some witnesses.”

Stories about errant American soldiers run in headlines for days, weeks, months and are followed through courts for years; except of course for the story of the Muslim soldier (Sgt. Asan Akbar) who was recently sentenced to death for killing several superior officers with a hand grenades. Except for the original incident in 2003 and the verdict, mentioned this year, there is very little else to let us know the mind of that Muslim. Maybe over the next 14 years of appeals we’ll learn something.

John Gibson wrote: “…I sense a chill in the air coming from the Council on American-Islamic Relations and others who think it would be racist and bigoted of us to notice he was a Muslim and wonder if maybe his religion was a motivating factor in his act of terror…But never mind I said it. I don't want to get in trouble. I know it's wrong to ask if his faith had anything to do with his killing spree. Forget I mentioned it.”

It might be easy to forget Mr. Gibson mentioned a possibility that Islamic terrorism has brought another incident to an American venue if we thought this was an isolated event. It is actually an event of escalation. The weakening of the U.S. stance against terrorism, as exampled by the liberalism being extolled by the democrat-controlled congress; is emboldening the terrorists into thinking they are winning the war of attrition.

It is true that democrats have surrendered. Democrats have thanked the insurgency in Iraq and the world for their pressure and continual attacks against American interests that fooled most American voters, with the valuable assistance of American media into thinking that war against evil is a bad thing. They are asking terrorism to continue until they have solidified their positions of control over the American government. They have probably promised future help and support in securing Iraq and Afghanistan for Islamic interests by ensuring all American soldiers have been forced out of the Middle East; regaining their “baby-killer” and “Nazi” designations.

Media stories against American soldiers are good for the American goose in the eyes of liberal socialists. The Muslim gander does not come under any such scrutiny. It is surprising to see one mention of any terrorist Islamic link in a domestic news article, especially if one is as apparent as Seattle or Salt Lake.

#1  Remember Mel Gibson's drunken rant? Sure knocked the hell out of the story of the Muslim who attacked Jewish center, killing one woman and wounding half a dozen others. I think it was within a week of Gibson's fall from grace, and what a relief to the MSM Gibson was.

#2  Don't forget how the media buried (and buried deep) the Beslin terrorist attack at that russian school. I don't think I'll ever forget it or forgive the MSM's coverup....

They went out of their way to avoid any mention that the terrorists (oops... gangsters... oops... hostage takers) were, to a person, Muslim and operated under authority of the Islamic religion.

Or that they ganged raped underage girls (and probably boys) and bayonetted babies. (And that's not just hype but has been testified to by the survivors).

Nope... no bias here.... move along now...

Home Front: WoT
Joe Lieberman: The Choice on Iraq
Wall Street Journal

Two months into the 110th Congress, Washington has never been more bitterly divided over our mission in Iraq. The Senate and House of Representatives are bracing for parliamentary trench warfare--trapped in an escalating dynamic of division and confrontation that will neither resolve the tough challenges we face in Iraq nor strengthen our nation against its terrorist enemies around the world.

What is remarkable about this state of affairs in Washington is just how removed it is from what is actually happening in Iraq. There, the battle of Baghdad is now under way. A new commander, Gen. David Petraeus, has taken command, having been confirmed by the Senate, 81-0, just a few weeks ago. And a new strategy is being put into action, with thousands of additional American soldiers streaming into the Iraqi capital.

Congress thus faces a choice in the weeks and months ahead. Will we allow our actions to be driven by the changing conditions on the ground in Iraq--or by the unchanging political and ideological positions long ago staked out in Washington? What ultimately matters more to us: the real fight over there, or the political fight over here? . . .

I hate for this to be true, Senator, but for far too many in your party, it's OK if the country loses a battle or a war as long as Democrats win elections and hold power. For far too many, the "real enemies" aren't Ba'athist goons or turbaned mass murderers, but George W. Bush, traditional Christians, and observant Jews such as yourself.

#5  Dunno if this was posted here before, but this story has some more details. The filmmaker -- Jacobovici -- used to make a TV series titled "The Naked Archaeologist". The content's usually Biblical archaeology, but with an "In Search Of" spin to it and MTV editing and effects. The few episodes I've seen of it have left me nauseated, but also deeply hostile towards Jacobovici. I think he's a crank.

A Blast from the Past: How to Slow Iran’s Terror Machine
By Dr. Paul Kengor

In his pursuit of Cold War victory over Soviet communism, Ronald Reagan enlisted several fascinating covert efforts as part of a bold campaign of economic warfare, an assault so sensitive and so damaging that Reagan advisers denied it publicly, only acknowledging it decades later. “Certainly it was economic warfare,” said Reagan defense official Richard Perle, “although we had to deny it at the time.” Secretary of Defense Caspar Weinberger explained that the effort had to be “a silent campaign.”

Reagan himself was forced into denials or dodges when asked if he was pursuing an economic war against Moscow. His closest aide, National Security Adviser Bill Clark, later explained Reagan’s reluctance to me in a series of interviews: “Look, he didn’t want to admit publicly that we were effectively at war [with the Soviets] or that we wanted to defeat them.” Clark said that Reagan carefully avoided using words like “economic war.”

Why’s the Duke Hoax a National News Story, But NOT This Actual, Grisly Hate Crime???
Posted by: anonymous5089 || 02/26/2007 05:59 || Comments || Link || [0 views] Top|| File under:

#1  This is just like the black Carr brothers in Wichita, KS. Rape, torture, murder, obviously motivated by hatred for white people. It's not "news", however, that there are black animals committing these types of atrocities in America--or at least it's not news that the MSM is willing to print.

If this had been whites doing this to blacks, we would never hear the end of it from the libs in the media. Those bastards endlessly drone on about the even the most minimal potential dangers to one's health from every conceivable cause known to man--but they would NEVER find themselves able to mention that possibly the most serious danger in America for non-black people is to live in close proximity to a black neighborhood.
Posted by: mac || 02/26/2007 7:33 Comments || Top||

#2  The most serious danger for black people is to live near/in a poor black neighborhood, too, mac. Or for any of us to live in whichever part of Los Angeles the various gangs are fighting over at the moment, I s'pose.

#3  It's a civil war in LA, it's a quagmire, we should withdraw...oh, wait...never mind.
Posted by: Procopius2k || 02/26/2007 11:29 Comments || Top||

#4  Please dispute me if you think i'm wrong.

2007 USA, in practice measured justice is not equal or color blind because Hate Crimes are considered and prosecuted as White Crime.

But in the real world hate crimes occur against whites everyday but are almost never prosecuted as such.
